2002 Lexus IS 300
Rare Electric Blue color !!!
Stored for the last 11 months and all winters!!
Trade In Value 5800.00
Private Party Value 8000!!!

Thank you very much for taking the time to look at my auction for my 2002 Lexus IS 300 !. I would assume by looking at this auction, you obviously have an interest in this vehicle, and with that said... let me tell you a little about it.

I purchased this car in late 2006, and searched all over from 2002 - 2006 for a IS 300 in this color!. From the moment I purchased this vehicle it has turned heads everywhere I go and has been my baby, unfortunately life happens and I no longer have the need for it as my lifestyle has changed which requires me having an SUV so I am parting with it.

I have regularly maintained this vehicle at our local Lexus Dealership ( Bett's Lexus ) while it was under warranty and I have stored in a garage every winter simply to keep it as nice as possible. I have also stored this vehicle since July of 2012 as I have needed to drive my SUV for my job, and with the children. I replaced the passengers side upper/lower control arm assembly, and the Wheel Hub/Bearings just prior to storing as those parts were needed, along with a fresh oil / transmission change/flush.

At this time the vehicle does need the alternator replaced as I discovered it started to go out a few weeks ago after I put 100.00 battery in the vehicle, took it out to fuel it up and for a short drive on a nice day and a few days later my new battery was dead which led to the alternator being tested. I have ordered an alternator and will provide it to the winning bidder. I also have new spark plugs in the box ( though not needed ) that I purchased at the time of storing in 2012. My husband being an Import Enthusiast recently upgraded the Air Intake while it was stored as the Air Filter needed replaced with a chrome aftermarket Air Intake w/ K&N Filter. I also have the complete stock Air Intake which will be included ( and re-installed if you wish ).  We have also needed it has a very very small exhaust leak underneath at the flange as it needs a donut gasket ( 10.00 ) , however to the average person the exhaust leak would be unnoticed.

I am re-listing this vehicle as unfortunately the individual whom purchased it for his wife decided after 2 days that it was too small as they just had twins, and have a couple of children already so I agreed to refund the amount paid which has put me in a bind as I purchased a new SUV and had to put money down, so along with this issue I need to sell by Monday so I can put that needed amount down to the dealership to keep my new vehicle.

This lexus IS 300 comes loaded with the factory leather/suede combo, premium sound system, sunroof, auto shift option etc...and the pictures do NOT do the vehicle justice. It also comes with the optional Polished wheels which really help set off the vehicle. The windows are legally tinted as well ( except the Drivers and Passengers door windows ).

KBB on this vehicle on a private sale is 7800 - 8500 depending on zip code, so here is your chance to own below book and own a very rare car, and color for that matter that is GUARANTEED to turn heads, and hold it's value each and every year.

Thank you very much for looking and HAPPY BIDDING !.

Xcar gets Lexus LFA serviced at TMG

Mon, Mar 30 2015

Toyota has made all manner of vehicles, from sedans and hatchbacks to crossovers and pickup trucks. It's even done a handful of sports cars over the years. But it's only ever done one real supercar, and that was the Lexus LFA. The ten-cylinder supercar was built at the dedicated, purpose-built LFA Works, a facility within Toyota City in Japan that's since moved on to making everything from bicycles to hydrogen fuel cell vehicles. But if you were lucky enough to be among the 500 customers to get your hands on an LFA, you may not be inclined to send it back to the factory every time it needs servicing. Especially not if you live in, say, Europe. That's why Toyota Motorsport GmbH was tasked with handling service for the LFA for Europe. The facility in Cologne, Germany, was once home to the automaker's F1 team, now runs its championship-winning endurance racing team and will soon again serve as the home base for its renewed assault on the World Rally Championship. So it's just the type of facility that could handle whatever comes up with Lexus' high-strung exotic, from servicing the V10 engine to repairing the carbon-fiber chassis if need be. After checking out the underground collection in its last episode, the guys at Xcar popped their heads in at the LFA service center. There they spoke with TMG VP Rob Leupen, who seems convinced that Toyota should make a new hybrid supercar. We hope he turns out to be right.

8 things you should know about the Lexus LC 500h powertrain

Thu, Feb 18 2016

Lexus unveiled the LC 500h today in The Netherlands, and I got to take a look inside its new hybrid system. On one hand it seems like a box of magic – it combines two seemingly incompatible transmission types into one package. But that's also the ingenious simplicity of the thing. We don't have all of the details on how it all works yet, but here's a rundown of the high points.Efficient business in front, low-key party in the back. What makes it all work is the mullet of transmissions. For the new hybrid transmission, Lexus used the Toyota Hybrid Synergy Drive/Lexus Hybrid System – which consists of an e-CVT with a planetary gearset and two electric motors (one for charging the battery, the other for motivation and regen) – and grafted a conventional four-speed automatic onto the back. The two units actually coexist in one package, with the e-CVT making things efficient and the automatic expanding the capabilities. So at the low end, the system can deliver more torque, and the engine can also run at lower rpm on the highway. It's all thanks to those fixed gear ratios, and it's surprisingly simple.Except it's not that simple. This is where the virtual gear ratios come in. Like current Lexus hybrids, the system has ratios it can call up with the e-CVT. In this case, there are six virtual ratios to complement the four real physical ratios, for a total of 10 "gears" at the transmission's disposal. (Not coincidentally, the V8 LC 500 coupe has a 10-speed automatic.) One of the four fixed gears is always engaged when the car is moving, so the 10 ratios come about from combinations of what the e-CVT in front and the automatic in the back are doing. In other words, all 10 ratios are variations on the four fixed gear ratios, which means that all 10 gears could be considered virtual. It won't use all the gears all the time. In Eco mode, the car will start off on electric power and skip the first couple of "gears." When it's set to Sport or Sport +, the engine will be engaged from a stop and the transmission will select the lowest ratio. The sportier modes will also ignore the top couple of gear ratios. It can drive faster with the engine off. In a Lexus GS 450h with the Lexus Hybrid System, for example, at speeds above 62 mph or so the engine has to start up. This is because something needs to take up some slack from the battery-charging motor-generator or else it will start spinning too quickly.
