2000 LAND ROVER DISCOVERY II

BLACK BEAUTY SPORTS UTILITY VEHICLE

Black exterior/Gray Leather Interior

STUNNING SUV!

This auction is for a 2000 Land Rover Discovery II suv. This is lady driven and a totally pampered SUV.  I absolutely love this vehicle but unfortunately I have to sell as I am unable to transport it when we move.  This is the 2nd Rover I have owned and it is the most safest vehicle I have ever owned.  I looked up reviews on Edmonds when I first looked into owning and I was hooked immediately.  It is a stunning looking SUV and I get many compliments when driving it.  Since I have owned it I have maintained it regularly using nothing but Synthetic Blend Oil.  I also have used Premium grade gas for optimum engine care.  I keep all receipts for brakes, spark plugs, oil changes etc.  The only thing I have replaced on it is the brakes, fuel pump, and changed out instrument cluster in dash as the dials were not working.  I do have the original instrument cluster which will come with the SUV.  All leather interior in great condition with some wear on front seats but no major tears or anything like that.  Carpet is free of stains and has been covered with original Landrover Mats since purchase of car.

This Land Rover Discovery is fully loaded with many comfort features and extras!  The best part of this Land Rover Discovery II is that it is smogged and tags are paid until September of 2015  "next year".  You just have to pay a transfer fee to register it!

The car runs super nice and for being a SUV that is of this year is in great condition with only a few cosmetic issues.  Please see attached pictures and close ups of dents and scratches. The passenger seat does not move forward or backward (it may be just not plugged in) I just have not had it looked at as it was never an issue for me.  It also needs a bumper cover replacement as the front bumper cover is cracked ( see pic).  I have found these at the junkyard as low as $25.00.  I also am including a used front bumper grill guard (email me and I will send you a picture of it as it's currently garaged).  I found it on Craigslist, but never had time to have it installed, used but in good shape($400 brand new). Pretty easy(4)bolts to attach.  This car was in some type of parking accident at one time as I am sure that is where the dents came in to play, but this was before I owned the car.  The previous owner of the car also had his wife drive it so this car has always been lady driven. ***(This may be why the interior is so very nice and well taken care of...!)

Please feel free to ask any and all questions prior to placing a bid.  I will be more than happy to answer any and all questions you may have.  The Rover is also listed outside of Ebay in various classified ads, so I reserve the right to end the auction at any time.  I have listed and described the condition to the best of my knowledge and any defects and flaws have been fully explained.  The Rover is being sold AS IS with no warranties implied.  The Rover has been a great driver for me and I am hoping it goes to someone who will enjoy it as I have and continue to care for it as I have.  If you want to view the Rover and are in the vicinity of where I live, please feel free to contact me for a test drive!  If you need the vehicle ship, please make all arrangements and request shipping quote through Ebay Motors prior to bidding so you will know exact costs you will be responsible for.  Buyer is responsible for all shipping costs and shipping arrangements.  Thank you

Winning bidder payment details-  Winning bidder is to make non-refundable deposit into paypal within 24 hours of end of auction.  Full payment is due within 3 days of purchase either cash in person or cashiers bank check only.  If deposit is not made within 24 hours upon close of auction, Rover will be offered to second chance bidder.

Happy bidding and best of luck in the auction!

Jaguar Land Rover to drop supercharged V8 for turbocharged BMW power

Wed, Jul 27 2016

There are few things that sound as good as Jaguar's 5.0 liter supercharged V8. As great as it is when the supercharger whines or the exhaust cracks and pops on throttle lift-off as the air pressure equalizes, the basic design dates back to the '90s. Plainly, the engine isn't as efficient as it needs to be, but designing a new V8 from the ground up is an expensive proposition. Instead, Automobile reports that Jaguar Land Rover is set to use a twin-turbocharged V8s supplied by BMW. Scalable architecture is all the rage as automakers streamline designs in order to save costs. For example, Jaguar's current supercharged V6 is quite literally a V8 with two holes missing. They didn't even change the length of the block. It seems both of those designs are on their way out, with the V6 being replaced by a inline-six closely related to the company's inline four. It seems that rather than designing an new and expensive V8 for their top of the line models JLR, is sourcing from BMW. From 1994 to 2000, BMW owned Land Rover. A few models, including the Land Rover Range Rover, used BMW engines then and in the initial years of Ford's JLR stewardship. It seems things have now come full circle. BMW currently makes a twin-turbo 4.4 liter V8 that produces anywhere from 440 to 600 horsepower, depending on the application. Automobile says that a new 4.0 liter V8 is in the works and that it will most likely be the engine that JLR uses. Expect it to be more powerful, more fuel efficient, and lighter than what both BMW and JLR currently offer. This seems like a win for both companies. BMW gets to offset the cost of a new motor while JLR, a smaller company, doesn't have to invest in a whole new architecture. As automakers search for ways to cut costs, expect collaborations like this to continue. Infiniti and Mercedes-Benz both share a four-cylinder engine. Ford and GM have worked together to design a shared 10-speed automatic. While we may lament the loss of that wonderful Jaguar Land Rover engine, we can still be happy that they haven't abandoned the V8. Jaguar tests autonomous vehicle technology with 100-car fleet

Wed, Jul 13 2016

Jaguar Land Rover is exploring how to take autonomous vehicle technology off the paved path. But the company has plans for technology on tarmac, too. The company announced that the Jaguar division will have a fleet of 100 cars testing autonomous technologies on public roads. The testing process will cover a period of four years and begin with vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-infrastructure communication systems, along with a stereo camera system and autonomous vehicle software. These systems will work together to provide a variety of features that could make their way into future Jaguars and Land Rovers. The first feature in development is called "Roadwork Assist." The system relies on the stereo camera to create a 3D image the car's software can analyze. The software can identify road cones and other barriers associated with construction sites. The car will then alert the driver about entering the construction zone and provide some steering assistance to keep the car centered in its lane. Tony Harper, Jaguar's head of research, said that this system can reduce stress on the driver, and the technology could eventually be used to allow the car to pilot itself through construction zones. Another of Jaguar's proposed features is "Safe Pullaway," which also relies on cameras and software. The Safe Pullaway feature is designed to prevent close-proximity collisions in traffic jams and even in the garage. To do this, the car watches the area immediately ahead of it for obstacles. If the car detects something nearby while the driver adds throttle or shifts into gear, it will apply the brakes to prevent driving into the object. The final project on Jaguar's plate is its "Over the Horizon Warning" system. This will be one of the first features to rely on Jaguar's vehicle-to-vehicle communication technology. The idea is that connected cars in constant communication will give drivers additional warning of upcoming hazards, such as out-of-sight animals and slowed or stopped cars. In Jaguar's example of a stopped car, the stationary vehicle would send a signal alerting approaching cars of the situation. In turn, the approaching vehicles would trigger audible and visual warnings to drivers about the hidden car. Jaguar says that the system could also be applied to emergency vehicles. Emergency vehicles would broadcast a signal to alert drivers well before the lights and sirens get their attention. This would give emergency vehicles a faster, safer path through traffic.

Brabus takes on Range Rover Sport with Startech widebody kit

Wed, 26 Feb 2014

Of all the tuners this side of AMG, none are as close to Mercedes-Benz as Brabus. After all, when Daimler needed a tuner to spruce up the Smart car, it was Brabus that it turned to. But Brabus tunes vehicles other than Mercedes - it just uses, let's call it, a pen name. It brands them Startech, like the widebody kit it's developed for the new Range Rover Sport and will present at the Geneva Motor Show next week.
The modifications center around the carbon fiber body panels Brabus (excuse us, Startech) has developed for the British sport-ute that give it over two inches of added width. The wider fender flares encompass 23-inch wheels that are forged, ceramic-coated, skinned with low-profile rubber and fitted to a lowered suspension. The front and rear bumpers have been redone in plastic and can be fitted with or without the wider fenders, and there's a three-piece roof spoiler at the back.
Startech is also offering an upgrade for the 3.0-liter twin-turbo-diesel V6 that squeezes out an extra 31 horsepower and 59 pound-feet of torque for a total of 323 hp and 501 lb-ft, dropping the 0-62 time from 7.2 seconds to 6.9. The German tuner also has a wide array of interior modifications on offer, details of which you can read about in the press release below and scope out in the high-resolution image gallery above.
