Just relisted and the ending high price. I will take care of the surface rust under th hood. The hood has no rot or rust through, purely superficial. It is for sale and t r a d e locally so bid soon.

Dare to be different. This is a Right Hand Drive and gets a lot of attention.

1986 Land Rover Defender 110 5 Door CSW. CLEAR WISCONSIN TITLE in MY NAME!

I imported this from the UK 2 years ago. These are a blast to drive. I had this shipped into Philadelphia and drove it back to Sun Prairie without issues. 22 hours straight.

Importing one of these is hard from the UK. It has to be original as the VIN is on the frame. Many of them has rusted frames or swapped to a galvanized frame. This makes them illegal to import. I searched for a while to get an original model in great shape to bring over. THis was legally imported and has the necessary paperwork and clear Wisconsin title in my name.

The pictures show what it looks like. No rot etc. Normal oxydation in a few places that happens when aluminum and metal are mated together. Small surface rust under the hood (easy fix).  FYI, all the spots around the Defender in the first pic is water, just got back from the car wash before i took those photos.

This has the 3.5 V8 with 5 speed transmission 4x4. Mileage is 149,000. Runs great and just had a ful tune-up. Interior is in great shape. Interioor seats are the original tan cloth in tweed from factory and seats 9 total. I have an used air conditioning kit that could be installed but the kit was $1500 to get from the UK and I'd want that same price if buyer wants it. Installation would be extra but buyers choice. These kists new are $3000 plus installation. Are you ready to own and drive something noone else has....this is it.

Buy it now price will include the AC kit but not installed.......now that is a more than fair kicker.

Here is a list of things done:

1. Truck cost me $16500.
2. Shipping and Customs $4500
3. Registration and taxes in WI $1000
4. New tires and rims in UK $1500
5. Safari Rack and Ladder in UK $600
6. Carb rebuild (2 carbs) $350
7. New Gas Tank and sending unit $400.
8. New Alumuinum Chequer side guards and door guards $600
9. New side step bars with matching chequer plate $450
10. Front Bull Bar in UK $400.
11. Respray(Repaint) in the UK $1500

total is $26,300. There is a 1987 on Ebay right now for $24,500 and you still have to ship it from Europe. That is over $4000 and $1000 to register with tax, tag and title. Save $5500 and by mine.

Only reason I am selling is I have 3 of these and I decided I want some land and a cabin not to mention my drive way looks like a Defender Car Lot.

Serious inquiries only, I do not need help selling this amazing ride. I will take any other pictures to serious inquiries. I do work so be patient. Bid with confidence and I am a 20 year army vet and a man of integrity.

Jaguar Land Rover calls in handful of vehicles over suspension bolts

Thu, 24 Apr 2014

With most recalls seemingly affecting mass-market vehicles, it'd be all too easy to assume, consciously or otherwise, that higher-end automobiles never face such issues. But the main reason we don't see the NHTSA recalling more luxury automobiles isn't because of their quality, we'd postulate: it's because of their relative scarcity.
Take Jaguar Land Rover, recalls of whose vehicles we only seem to have cause to report about once a year. So if you're figuring they're about due, here you go. The Indian-owned British auto group has just announced two recalls, both regarding suspension components: one affecting Jaguars and another concerning - you guessed it - Land Rovers.
First up we have a recall for 2013 to 2014 model year Jaguar XJ, XF and XK models - a whopping 297 of them - which have been found to have problematic toe links. Separation of the toe link from the rear sub-frame could result in impaired stability and control over the vehicle's direction, so JLR is calling them in to replace the nuts and washers on the rear toe links.

Jaguar Land Rover launches Pivotal subscription service

Fri, Jul 3 2020

Two years ago, Jaguar Land Rover launched a subscription service in the UK dubbed Carpe. The program was effectively a 12-month lease with no deposit and no mileage limit, and an all-inclusive monthly payment covering insurance, tax, service, and repairs. For GBP910 ($1,134 U.S.) plus the cost of fuel every month, a subscriber could secure a Jaguar E-Pace at the bottom end, a payment of GBP2,200 ($2,741 U.S.) per month opening the doors to a Range Rover Sport. In between, the Range Rover Evoque cost GBP980, the Jaguar XE GBP1,200, the Range Rover Velar GBP1,255, and Land Rover Discovery GBP1,550. The numbers and customer feedback have encouraged JLR to turn Carpe into Pivotal, with new lease levels, terms, and restrictions. Instead of keeping a vehicle for 12 months, Pivotal subscribers pay GBP550 to join, then swap out every six months. Changing cars early incurs a GBP250 fee, or customers can request to stick with the vehicle they have beyond six months, but JLR reserves the right to switch out cars when necessary. Pivotal keeps tabs to the odometer, too — instead of unlimited driving, the program caps fee-free travel at 1,500 miles per month, 20 pence per mile after that. However, the FAQ section explains that "mileage is accumulative so do not worry if you do not use your full mileage allowance, the first month can be carried on into the next within a given vehicle."  Carpe's six levels have been reduced to four Pivotal tiers. Blue costs GBP750 ($934 U.S.) per month and offers access to the Jaguar F-Pace, Land Rover Discovery Sport, or Range Rover Evoque, clearly a much better deal than GBP910 for an E-Pace (and we like the E-Pace). Indigo runs GBP1,150 ($1,433 U.S.) for the choice of a Jaguar I-Pace, Range Rover Velar, or Land Rover Discovery. Violet, costing GBP1,350 ($1,682 U.S.), comes with just one vehicle for now, the Range Rover Sport. Same goes for Ultraviolet at GBP1,600 ($1,993 U.S.), which gets the Range Rover. The brand already has plans to expand the fleet with the new Defender, and plug-in hybrid versions of the Discovery Sport and Range Rover Evoque The only noted repair item not covered is windshield replacement, which carries a GBP150 deductible. The splashy rework in England comes shortly after Mercedes-Benz shuttered its Collection service here in the U.S. On trial for two years in Nashville, Philadelphia, and Atlanta, Collection couldn't get the traction Mercedes wanted.

Check out King Charles III's $17.6 million car collection

Fri, May 5 2023

King Charles III's coronation will take place in England on May 6, and being crowned a monarch comes with a long list of perks with four wheels. He will gain full access to the Royal Family's fleet of cars, which is valued at about GBP14 million (approximately $17.6 million). The two most expensive cars in the collection are nearly identical: they're a pair of Bentley State Limousine models (pictured) built for Queen Elizabeth II, King Charles III's mother, in 2002. Only two units were made, and they're both part of the Royal Family's fleet, so they're difficult to put a value on; it's not like one is going to end up listed on your favorite auction site anytime soon. British company Nationwide Vehicle Contracts, which compiled the list, estimates that each armored, 245-inch long sedan is worth at least GBP10,000,000 (roughly $12.6 million). Dropping below the eight-digit threshold, the second-most-valuable car in the Royal Family's fleet isn't really a car. It's the Gold State Coach, which Matchbox recently released a 1/64-scale replica of, and its value is estimated at GBP1.6 million (about $2 million). At 275 inches long it's even bigger than the Bentley limousine and it weighs about 9,000 pounds. It's 261 years old and designed to be pulled by eight horses, and has been part of every coronation since 1831. The rest of the Royal Family's vehicles are relatively mundane. There's a 1965 Aston Martin DB6 Volante that Queen Elizabeth II and her husband, Prince Phillip, bought for King Charles III on his 21st birthday. It's worth GBP1 million (about $1.2 million). The collection also includes a Rolls-Royce Phantom VI (about $627,000), a Bentley Bentayga (about $201,000), a Land Rover Range Rover long-wheelbase Landaulet ($133,000), a Jaguar XE (about $41,000), and a Land Rover Defender ($38,000). "Luxury cars have long been associated with the monarch and King Charles III, in particular, is known for his fondness of motor vehicles. His impressive collection features sentimental value with motors passed down from his late mother, Queen Elizabeth II, to cars bought for him by his parents," explained Keith Hawes, the director of Nationwide Vehicle Contracts, in an interview with CBS News. Being at the head of a car-making nation's royal family also comes with drawbacks: Every vehicle in King Charles III's fleet is British.
