It took a lot for me to finally convince myself to sell this Range Rover. I am the only owner and treated her like my child. I put my name in to reserve her a year in advance and was literally the FIRST person in line to get the first one in Fort Worth, so they let me get the Adriatic Blue color (see pics, blackish-blue look). I don't know about you, but I have never seen my color on the road EVER before! She is FULLY LOADED, super clean (see my pics of her!), sun roof / moon roof, GPS navigation system, dual air bags and side air bags, ABS (4-wheel) w/ traction control, Harman Kardon Sound system, Multi Disc CD, Integrated Phone, Towing Pkg,

GENERAL REPAIRS / REPLACEMENTS I DID IN 2012: Most were simply replacements to the existing parts I did earlier last year to keep her in optimal condition. Some were what I believed could eventually be a problem, so I figured replace them now. If you know Range Rovers then you know if you let them become a problem, then that problem will bring collateral problems if not dealt with beforehand and that is not something you don't want to have happen.

The Truth
Now honestly I really did all these replacements for me b/c she ran fine without them and I had no intention of selling it. And then... mom got diagnosed in September with a bad disease after passing out one day in the nail salon and was hospitalized for nearly two months (conveniently this happened just two years before she would have got Medicare! AH!!). She had crummy insurance that covered almost nothing and guess what good son got to enjoy paying all those bills?! That's not all, now she has a home nurse's aid that is slowly draining my savings and well... that is why I have to sell this sweet ride. What can I do? Whoever buys her, PLEASE take as good a care of her as I did. I am seriously going to miss this Rover (total chick magnet!).
- I replaced all 4 tires with brand new ones
- Put in an all new suspension system
- Replaced air springs
- Brand new Macpherson Strut
- New Battery
- Replaced left and right turn signal bulbs
- New Upper Radiator Hose
- All tags current

PROBLEM REPAIRS I HAD TO FIX: Only problems I have ever had with her are as follows (and I have kept virtually all receipts to back this up, just ask me for them no prob)
- I had the front left tire totally go out back in 2007 (can't find that receipt, but the repair was a new tire. I know, you ask me... how did that happen?). I was invited to this corporate ranch and arrived there after sunset cruising down their gravel road that leads to the company lodge. She drives so smooth you forget how fast you are going, you can't really feel the bumps on the road, and being at night and me not being much of an off-road driver I ran over a jagged rock driving too fast down into the valley part of the ranch land. I didn't even know I did any damage to the tire until I got 500 yards from the corporate lodge and all my warning lights went off saying left tire needs repair! I stopped, checked it out and in moments that tire was history (luckily I didn't hurt the wheel). What can I say... I was idiot. Geez was that embarrassing! So that is her off-road experience except I did take her mudding on a fishing trip I went on after a storm (now that was a TON of fun... I seriously could not get her stuck! And my buddy had a jacked up Chevy with these huge mud tires and he got stuck and I just rolled on through the mud, no problemo! Showed them, huh?! ha.

Enjoy.

Frankfurt Motor Show Notes: Why Jaguar decided to build an SUV

Wed, Sep 16 2015

It was inevitable. Jaguar had to make an SUV, and that notion became reality this week with the debut of the F-Pace, an all-wheel-drive five-seater that will launch in the United States next spring. Some purists may cringe. But in an era when Porsche, Bentley, Lamborghini, Rolls-Royce, Aston Martin, and other traditional luxury brands are all building or (planning to build) SUVs, Jaguar had to evolve. While it seems like a leap for Jaguar to make an SUV, longtime design director Ian Callum said it's been in the works for years. "The first time I was asked the question was when I arrived 16 years ago," he said. So in 1999 (and probably well before that), Jaguar was already thinking SUV. What took so long? "It wasn't a priority," Callum said. Jaguar was concentrating on fixing its existing lineup, which was pockmarked with holes and poorly selling products, like the X-Type. Along the way, Jaguar and sister brand Land Rover were sold by Ford to Indian conglomerate Tata Motors. Flash forward several years, and Jaguar and Land Rover are both experiencing a resurgence in the United States and around the world. Jaguar's lineup is flush with the E-Type's modern successor, the F-Type, plus a new version of the XF. The XJ received a 2016 freshening, and the smaller XE sedan is on the way. Jaguar put its house in order as other factors conspired to make a crossover timely. Fuel prices stayed relatively low, and consumers in the US and China remained steadfast in their love for utility vehicles of all stripes. Making a Jaguar SUV became a priority. "The world was telling us in no uncertain terms this is what they wanted," Callum said. "Not to be in the sector would be a little naive for the sake of purity." Jaguar proved its intent two years ago when it revealed the C-X17 crossover concept at Frankfurt, and the final production model is close to the prototype's striking looks. "I thought we managed to maintain that spirit," Callum said. It's a true Jaguar, with cues from the F-Type, 1968 XJ, and other famous models. Who would have thought Jaguar would make an SUV? "I certainly didn't," Callum admitted. But the F-Pace is here. If Callum is okay with it, purists can be, too. Quick Hits Opel retrenches for 2016 and beyond Opel used the Frankfurt show to display its new generation of the Astra, a critical vehicle line for the German division of General Motors.

Buy a Jaguar E-Type continuation, get a matching wristwatch

Tue, Feb 28 2017

From time to time, automakers release special branded watches. Jaguar and Land Rover are no different. The latest from Land Rover isn't particularly remarkable, but one new Jaguar piece is pretty special. Jaguar partnered with British watchmaker Bremont for a line of watches, the most impressive being a 43mm watch that commemorates Jaguar's continuation series of Lightweight E-Types. Like the cars, only six of the watches will be produced, and they will be offered to the owners of those $1.5 million cars. Each watch features a serial number that matches a corresponding car, and the faces have been designed to look like the instruments aboard the E-Types. The same goes for the hands, which look like the gauge needles. The winding crown also has a tire tread pattern that wraps around the sides, with Jaguar's heritage logo on the top. And these timepieces are built with aluminum left over from the continuation E-Types. On the back is the most impressive part, though. Here is where the watch's automatic winding weight is visible. It's shaped like a vintage steering wheel, and the outer rim is made from real wood. The weight keeps the watch and its exclusive Bremont movement wound. If you can't afford this ultra-limited watch, Bremont has a line of other Jaguar watches with many of the same design cues, at prices ranging from less than $5,000 to more than $11,000. The Land Rover watch is a bit disappointing, since it bears little apparent connection to the vehicles. Zenith, the Swiss company that partnered with Land Rover for the piece, claims the design is inspired by the Range Rover. And Land Rover claims a connection in that a British explorer wore the same series watch while completing an expedition with a pair of Range Rovers. There's also the fact that the watch and the SUV are both made of aluminum, but otherwise, the Zenith watch doesn't look particularly automotive. The box sounds pretty cool, though, since it's fashioned from Land Rover wood and upholstery. Related Video:

Jaguars and Land Rovers to feature in 007's Spectre

Mon, Feb 9 2015

James Bond may be more closely associated with Aston Martin, but Jaguars and Land Rovers have featured in 007 movies new and old. Skyfall, the most recent installment in the series, opened with Bond and Moneypenny ripping through the streets of Istanbul in a Defender and saw M being chauffeured around London in an XJ. And the upcoming feature Spectre is set to feature some of JLR's finest as well. While Bond himself will be piloting the new Aston Martin DB10, the movie will also feature a Jag and a couple of Landies. The Jaguar C-X75 concept, as we know, will be part of a chase scene against the DB10, now revealed to be set in Rome. But the movie will also include the new Range Rover Sport SVR (with what looks like some auxiliary lighting) and at least two Defenders modified by JLR Special Operations to "Big Foot" specifications with 37-inch off-road tires, upgraded suspensions and added bodywork protection. As you may recall, a couple of months ago a fleet of nine vehicles used in the film were stolen from a garage in Dusseldorf, including five Range Rover Sports. This is the first confirmation we're seeing of any of them being SVR models, or of the Big Foot Defenders being part of the mix as well. The scenes including the Land Rovers have already been filmed in Austria, and we're looking forward to seeing them all on the silver screen come November. Broccoli's EON Productions, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios, and Sony Pictures Entertainment. These will include the Jaguar C-X75, Range Rover Sport SVR and Defender Big Foot, which have been provided by Jaguar Land Rover Special Operations. The Jaguar C-X75 will feature in a spectacular car chase sequence through Rome alongside the Aston Martin DB10. The C-X75 vehicles used in filming have been built in collaboration with Williams Advanced Engineering facility in Oxfordshire, England.
