I am the original owner of this 2006 Range Rover Supercharged and the sole driver. (This truck replaced my 2003 Range Rover HSE purchased new in the summer of 2002.) Bonatti Grey with Sand interior and Jet piping. The truck has been in no accidents and has had no paintwork of any kind. I purchased the truck new on 6/25/2005 at Land Rover Hoffman Estates IL and drove it to California the following week where it has stayed since then. (Vehicle was titled at our home in Florida initially, then California, but most recently back in Illinois. That said, vehicle always in CA.) The truck has been serviced since new at Land Rover Redwood City and was most recently inspected on 9/17/2012 with 83,481 miles on the odometer. (It has been driven only 2000 miles since then.) Once the factory warranty/service plan expired, oil changes, brakes, tires, and routine maintenance were performed by Portola Valley Garage, a highly respected independent garage in Portola Valley CA. Went to dealer then for warranty items only. Fast truck with 400 hp.

The brakes were replaced less than 10,000 miles ago, as were the tires. Both are in great shape. (See Land Rover inspection report) The truck is in great condition both mechanically and cosmetically. Everything works as it should. Truck is tight and rattle free. This has been an adult driven truck (no kids) so the interior is also in nice shape. That said, there is the expected wear on the driver and passenger seats, and some wear on various trim pieces reflective of a 7+ year old vehicle. Nothing out of the ordinary, but in the interest of being accurate, I am mentioning them. The exterior is in great shape with only a few minor rock chips. The pictures accurately reflect a very well maintained vehicle.

The truck is still under a bumper-to-bumper warranty which expires on 5/22/2013 or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first. The warranty has a $100 deductible. So, the buyer has no mechanical worries as the truck is covered. Please note that the only major problem we had with the truck was the transmission which was replaced under the original factory warranty at 49,500 miles. I had complained, since new, that the transmission shifted roughly under certain conditions and the Land Rover service tech noticed it just before the factory warranty was up. So, they put in a complete new transmission.

Buyers are welcome to have the truck inspected by Land Rover Redwood City. Happy to assist in delivery coordination but the vehicle is ready to be driven cross country.

Great truck, well maintained, original owner, no accidents, and STILL UNDER FULL WARRANTY....doesn't get much better than that.  My replacement vehicle is a 2010 Range Rover Supercharged Autobiography. So I've been driving this basic model since they were introduced in mid-2002. They really are great to drive. Used to drive Lexus LX470's but found the Range Rover to be a better driver's vehicle.

Let me know if you have any questions.  Happy Bidding. No reserve.

Jeep driver nearly gets washed away by fast moving river

Wed, May 11 2016

Just because you can do something doesn't mean that you should. For example, you should never attempt to cross a fast-moving river in a bone stock Grand Cherokee no matter how shallow the river looks. Especially if you don't know what you're doing. A video posted recently to the Facebook group Jeep EXPERIENCE, shows an inexperienced jeep driver learning that lesson the hard way. This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings. The video starts innocently enough, with a group of off-roaders watching one of their friends attempt to ford a shallow looking river. Things quickly go sideways however, when the driver of the silver Grand Cherokee just plunges right in and quickly gets in over his head. The river is moving faster than the driver thinks it is, the driver panics, makes some bad decisions, then the jeep is turned over and swept downstream. Eventually, the jeep is hauled out by a Land Rover after a long comedy of errors that involves one guy losing his trousers to the current and the Cherokee ingesting untold gallons of water. What went wrong here? Well, It's pretty obvious from the video that the Cherokee driver didn't have a clear idea of where he was going or about the condition of the riverbed. He chickened out halfway across the river, and in what appears to be a misguided attempt at turning back, he reverses, digs himself deeper in the riverbed, then turned broadside on into the current. When he changes his mind again and decides to just gun it for the opposite shore, he drives directly into a deep water hazard that would have been obvious to an experienced off-roader. At that point the jeep and the driver were doomed. Hopefully the driver learned a lesson here, and hopefully he didn't pollute that river too much with the jeep's fluids. Pivi Pro Jaguar Land Rover Infotainment Review | A massive improvement

Fri, Aug 6 2021

Infotainment systems in Jaguar Land Rover products have irked us for a long while. They’re generally a good step — or several — behind other luxury automakers' infotainment systems in terms of features and looks. But the big problem has always been their functionality. Even right out of the gate, they exhibited an undue amount of lag and general bugginess. Pivi Pro is supposed to change all of that. ItÂ’s JLRÂ’s completely new-from-the-ground-up infotainment system that is quickly spreading across the companyÂ’s range of products. It features a new screen size and layout. Plus, the software itÂ’s running is vastly different from what we saw previously. Our Byron Hurd got a first taste of it with a number of JLR products in a short period of time and found it to be a big improvement. Now, weÂ’ve had a new Land Rover Discovery in the garage for a longer period to fully suss out the system. Will it hold up? Watch the video above for a quick tour, and keep reading for some more detailed thoughts. Before diving in too deep, you should know off the top that Pivi Pro is a massive improvement over JLR infotainment systems of old. There are still some issues, but the new systemÂ’s performance is exponentially better than what itÂ’s replacing. This is partly thanks to it now running off its own backup battery. This allows the whole system to load immediately upon startup, ensuring that you arenÂ’t sitting and waiting for items to populate after you press the start button.  The new 11.4-inch screen this software plays on is splendid to both look at and touch. ItÂ’s a super-high-resolution panel, and it takes to our inputs quickly and without protest. The new UI layout makes things easier and prettier, too. All of your important items are tucked into a panel on the left, making them super easy to find and select. Plus, a sticky “home” button means you can always find your way out of menus when youÂ’re done diving around. We dig the three-panel home screen and its minimalist style, but for those who might favor maximum functionality over a pretty home screen, you can replace this with rows of app icons. For those wanting to use their phones, there is indeed an in-car WiFi data plan available to buy. Plus, JLR newly allows you to connect two devices via Bluetooth instead of just one. Both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are nicely integrated with this new system.
