Driver side fog light lens is off, but I have it. It can be glued on. It needs the bulb replaced as well. The grill is currently cracked but I have a new one on the way. Need a new alternator that is on the way. The windshield leaks when it rains and needs to be taken out and reinstalled. The sunroof cover fabric is loose at the front end.The speedometer cluster surround has a crack in it but it is held firmly in place with screws. The cruise control does not work. The driver front seat has a seam rip. The passenger seam has a rip. Missing taillight guards. The air conditioner blows out mostly at the top of the dash. DRiver seat inoperable/needs ecu. Drivers rear door latch needs reinstalled. Radio screen is partially obscured. ash tray spring is missing. original low/high gear knob is off but with car."

This is a good running vehicle with minor cosmetic and mechanical defects that you can fix or not depending on how perfect you want it to be. I have had it since January 2006 and the guy I bought it from was the fourth owner I believe. He gave me a ring binder with every thing that had ever been done to it. I have a manilla folder with the same kind of information that I will add to the ring binder notebook.

It has been repainted and the guy did a pretty good job on it.
The headliner is relatively new, but has a wrinkle or two. It is definitely not sagging. Thats why it was replaced.
The air conditioner compressor and dryer are new.
The battery is new.
The alternator is new.
The rear tires are new.
The front tires are a year old.
The subwoofer speaker is new.
The front grill is new. Not installed yet in pictures.
The bumper cap is missing in the picture but I am going to install it.
The muffler is about a year old.
The engine bottom was rebuilt a year ago and header pipes reinstalled by Reggie at Rovers.com. Reggie is the premier Range Rover mechanic in middle Tennessee. He knows the vehicles and will shoot you straight. He put the engine back right. The engine does not smoke or leak any oil or fluids from block valve covers, etc. at all. Solid gaskets. All engine pulleys, belts, cables functioning perfectly.  There is a little oil every now and then if the vehicle sits that comes from the plug in the timing cover. Very minor fix according to Reggie. If you know the vehicle, you know the plug.
The transmission is good. Not much more to say about it. Low and high range. Shifts smoothly.
Has been converted to springs a long time ago. No issues.

This car was not smoked in.
Horn, brake lights, turn signals, head lamp and tail lights all work. Front and back wipers work. 4x4 works, differential smooth.

Two keys, one new, one old require just the right touch for ignition but you will catch on fast. Key left in ignition will kill battery so always take out which you have to do anyway so you can lock the doors by inserting key. All of the electronic locks lock and unlock.  I have a key fob that will work but the attachment is broken so I just don't carry the fob at the moment.

Has running boards that are 90 percent. The driver side has some rust causing the rubber surround to require a better fix than current. Nothing major. A screw would hold it on at each end.

I have done my best to detail this car for you. Based on comparison pricing in Ebay and from Kelley Bluebook, Edmunds, NADA, etc. I have it priced right. Just look at the detail in the repair section and you can see that major items have been addressed in this vehcile. It is as solid as a rock operationally. Rest is just piddly stuff one has to expect from a car this age.

Honda, Hyundai top car residual value / depreciation awards list

Thu, Nov 18 2021

J.D. Power announced its 2022 U.S. ALG Residual Value awards Thursday, with Honda and Hyundai topping the charts at three models apiece in the industry-standard study. The term "residual" is an industry projection of how well a car will hold its resale value three years from the original purchase date – a key metric in calculating lease costs and projecting new-car depreciation.  Award winners included several enthusiast-friendly options, including the BMW 2 Series, Dodge Charger, Subaru WRX, Mercedes-AMG GT and Toyota Tacoma. Even the Ford Bronco was recognized, beating out the Jeep Wrangler in the Off-Road Utility segment. That may seem odd given the car's issue-plagued launch, but scarcity apparently trumps quality control issues over the longer term. Here's a scrolling complete list of winners broken down by segment: “Accurately forecasting residual values in the auto industry is a key factor in assessing an estimated $225 billion lease portfolio of vehicles in the United States,” said ALG VP Eric Lyman in the company's announcement. "The brands and vehicle models that rise to the top demonstrate that they score well across the award programÂ’s criteria, including manufacturersÂ’ superior design and quality." ALG looks at several factors to determine future value, which is especially tricky with new models. For 2022, 16 different brands were recognized across 29 segments. Behind Honda and Hyundai, Audi, Kia, Mercedes-Benz, Land Rover and Subaru all managed to chart with two different models. Here's the rundown of those who won in more than one category: Honda Civic Honda Passport Honda Odyssey Hyundai Accent Hyundai Kona Hyundai Kona EV Audi A6 Allroad Audi Q3 Kia K5 Kia Telluride Land Rover Range Rover Velar Land Rover Discovery Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Mercedes-Benz Metris:  Subaru  WRX and  Subaru Forester Toyota Tacoma  Toyota Tundra "The award process consists of evaluating 284 models through analysis of used-vehicle performance, brand outlook and product competitiveness," the announcement said. "Eligibility for a brand award requires a manufacturer to have model entries in at least four different segments. To account for differences across trim levels, model averages are weighted based on percentage share relative to the entire model line."   Audi Honda Hyundai Kia Land Rover Mercedes-Benz Subaru Toyota

Regulators consider adding more carmakers to Takata recall

Tue, Sep 29 2015

Volkswagen's diesel emissions scandal has been getting a lot of press recently, but the Takata airbag inflator affair could be grabbing headlines again soon. According to Bloomberg, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is contemplating an expansion to the campaign that could add seven automakers to the 12 already affected. They are Jaguar Land Rover, Mercedes-Benz, Spartan Motors, Suzuki, Tesla, Volvo Trucks, and VW Group. To be clear, there's no recall for any of these automakers, yet. The government is simply asking for a full list of vehicles that each of them have with Takata-supplied inflators containing ammonium nitrate propellant. The agency is concerned this substance could play a roll in the ruptures. "NHTSA is considering not only whether to issue an administrative order that would coordinate the remedy programs associated with the current Takata recalls, but also whether such an order should include expansion of the current recalls," the letters say. All seven can be viewed, here. From a report supplied by Takata, the government already knows that the company supplied 887,055 inflators with ammonium-nitrate propellant to VW and 184,926 of them to Tesla. In an incident during the summer, a side airbag allegedly burst in a 2015 VW Tiguan. In early September, NHTSA put out a revised report that there were 23.4 million inflators to be replaced in 19.2 million vehicles in the US. An earlier accounting from the agency had about 34 million of the parts in 30 million cars. High humidity is still believed to be among the biggest risk factors for the ruptures. Although, if ammonium nitrate also gets the blame, some already recalled models might need to be repaired again. Related Video:

Weekly Recap: Chrysler forges ahead with new name, same mission

Sat, Dec 20 2014

Chrysler is history. Sort of. The 89-year-old automaker was absorbed into the Fiat Chrysler Automobiles conglomerate that officially launched this fall, and now the local operations will no longer use the Chrysler Group name. Instead, it's FCA US LLC. Catchy, eh? Here's what it means: The sign outside Chrysler's Auburn Hills, MI, headquarters says FCA (which it already did) and obviously, all official documents use the new name, rather than Chrysler. That's about it. The executives, brands and location of the headquarters aren't changing. You'll still be able to buy a Chrysler 200. It's just made by FCA US LLC. This reinforces that FCA is one company going forward – the seventh largest automaker in the world – not a Fiat-Chrysler dual kingdom. While the move is symbolic, it is a conflicting moment for Detroiters, though nothing is really changing. Chrysler has been owned by someone else (Daimler, Cerberus) for the better part of two decades, but it still seemed like it was Chrysler in the traditional sense: A Big 3 automaker in Detroit. Now, it's clearly the US division of a multinational industrial empire; that's good thing for its future stability, but bittersweet nonetheless. Undoubtedly, it's an emotion that's also being felt at Fiat's Turin, Italy, headquarters as the company will no longer officially be called Fiat there. Digest that for a moment. What began in 1899 as the Societa Anonima Fabbrica Italiana di Automobili Torino – or FIAT – is now FCA Italy SpA. In a statement, FCA said the move "is intended to emphasize the fact that all group companies worldwide are part of a single organization." The new names are the latest changes orchestrated by CEO Sergio Marchionne, who continues to makeover FCA as an international automaker that has ties to its heritage – but isn't tied down by it. Everything from the planned spinoff of Ferrari, a new FCA headquarters in London and the pending demise of the Dodge Grand Caravan in 2016 has shown that the company is willing to move quickly, even if it's controversial. While renaming the United States and Italian divisions were the moves most likely to spur controversy, FCA said other regions across the globe will undergo similar name changes this year. Despite the mixed emotions, it's worth noting: The name of the merged company that oversees all of these far-flung units is Fiat Chrysler Automobiles. Obviously the Chrysler corporate name isn't completely history.
