1993 Range Rover LWB 1995 Range Rover LWB (Parts Rover) I have had the 93 Rover since 2006. I had gotten it from a friend who has always had several Rovers at a time for the last 25+years. I never understood the appeal until one day when he offered let me take one overnight. After I was able to experience the Rover under different driving conditions I began to understand the Uniqueness of the Rover and enjoyed it’s capable command of over whatever road material it traversed and it’s Crude Refinement if that makes sense. The 1993 Rover is operational with 142,500 miles and in very good condition but is in need of a Head Gasket. There was a minor leak from the top Radiator Hose where the Temperature Sensor is embedded. Unfortunately the leak occurred during and over night trip and by the time it was discovered the Head Gasket was already compromised. The 1993 was acquired by my friend from an Insurance auction. It had sustained damage to the Roof, Windshield, and Driver’s Door. The damage was caused by a fallen tree. The Windshield was replaced with a New OEM $1100 replacement. The Driver Door and Roof had both come from a Rover Parts Salvage Yard. Due to the fact of it’s purchase from the Insurance Company after the damage it was required to go through a New York State DMV inspection and was issued a Salvage Title. This Rover was never in a driving collision. It DOES NOT have or has had any impacts to the body and the frame Has Not been damaged. Part of this auction includes a 1995 Rover LWB Parts vehicle with 74,000 miles on the Engine, Transmission and Drive Train. It will start and roll and can easily be loaded for transport. I am also including many additional parts I have acquired over the years. Please feel free to contact me directly and I will answer any questions I can. There is a clean and clear New York State Tiltle, ready for transfer and a Bill of Sale will be issued with the1993 Range Rover LWB. Jaguar Land Rover gets to work on new university R&D center
Fri, Mar 20 2015Jaguar Land Rover has a raft of new products in the pipeline, from the new Defender to the next-generation XF sedan. But new product isn't the only thing the British automaker is investing in: it's also opening new facilities around the world, including what it's calling the National Automotive Innovation Centre back home in the UK. Based at the University of Warwick, the new $220-million R&D center is the result of a joint effort between JLR, its parent company Tata, the manufacturing arm of the university and the British government. The facility will bring together professionals from the automaker as well as its suppliers with academics to encourage, as the name suggests, innovation in the automotive sector. Its 355,000 square feet are earmarked to become the hub for Jaguar Land Rover's advanced research activities, including "workshops, laboratories, virtual engineering suites and advanced powertrain facilities, equipped to enable a full range of design, visualisation and prototyping activities." The cornerstore was just laid in a ceremony this week, but the facility isn't due to open until the Spring of 2017 when it will encompass some 1,000 employees, including 600 relocated by JLR to the new location from other sites in the UK. GM, Audi, Jaguar halt Russian sales amidst ruble's collapse
Fri, Dec 19 2014The value of Russia's ruble currency has sunk like a stone tossed in the Volga for much of the year, losing over 40 percent of its worth since June. The change is having bizarre effects on the auto industry there and leaving some automakers scrambling to adjust. According to Bloomberg, Russians are buying up luxury goods including automobiles at the moment to have a physical investment in case the ruble sinks further. However, with the money worth so little, the companies aren't making much from these transactions. Things are so dire that several automakers are temporarily ending deliveries until the situation stabilizes. According to Bloomberg, General Motors stopped sales on December 16 with no set date to start again. Audi did the same thing but with the intention to resume once it has adjusted model pricing. Jaguar Land Rover terminated business until December 19 to see how things changed. Toyota is increasing its pricing, as well, but keeping business open at the same time. Some automakers have subtly been reacting to the slumping Russian auto market all year. The moves have included Volkswagen cutting production by 30,000 units from its factory in Kaluga. Ford also got rid of 950 workers from two plants due to low demand. Some analysts have even speculated that the contracting industry and possibility of lower import duties into the country could cause companies to end their manufacturing in Russia completely.
