I'm selling my 1990 Range Rover Classic. This rover is in excellent shape and is ready to drive anywhere. This car has been a daily driver. Current Miles 147,106 Asking $4000 OBO Text 203-610-3775 The sales includes a brand new set of tires mounted to an extra set of rims. The tires currently on the Rover are Yokohama Geolanders and have plenty of tread left. I also have many boxes of spare parts - Recent Updates. - Recent paint less dent removal done. (still some dents but got the small ones) - Two new oxygen sensors - Engine oil + filter change - New air filter - Replaced transfer case, front & rear diff fluids - Greased u-joints - Upgraded alternator to GM 90 amp unit - Replaced cruise control - New spark plugs, wires, rotors, distributor cap - New brake pressure accumulator - Installed 8 rebuilt & flow-matched fuel injectors - Flushed and bled brakes - Replaced grease in front swivel hubs - New track road & tie rod ends - Front end alignment - Replaced all belts - Replaced oil cooler hoses - Waxoyl'ed undercarriage - New radiator fan & fan clutch - New front shocks - New speakers (there are 6 speakers + a sub) - New front air dam - New headlights, fog lights, and driving lights The previous owner left receipts for axle/hub work, exhaust work, new brakes, a new heater blower motor, heater core, and fan resistor pack. There are also receipts for a new oil pump and pressure switch, engine mounts, oil pan gasket, and rear shocks. There are also records for the fuel pump, U-joint, and axle seal being replaced at 115,438 miles, the headlamp switch and pittman arm were replaced at 114,663 miles, and the fuel tank was replaced at 105,203 miles. There are very few things wrong with the car: The sunroof will tilt up and down but will not slide back and forth. It will slide if you use the emergency crank so the mechanism is fine, it probably just needs to be lubricated. The driver's seat had a torn seam but I had that professionally re-sewn. The headliner was falling down but the previous owner tacked it up. It's not the prettiest but it works and you'd likely never notice it. It does have a small oil leak that needs to be looked at. It has had since I bought it and I just put oil in every 6 months or so and it's fine. Other than those issues this Rover is in excellent condition. I would not hesitate to jump in and drive it anywhere with confidence. |

New Land Rover Defender aces Euro crash tests
Wed, Dec 9 2020While the 2020 Land Rover Defender has not yet been crash-test by U.S. safety agencies such as NHTSA or IIHS, we do now have results for Europe's NCAP crash tests and accident-avoidance tests, where the Defender earned the top rating of five stars. The Defender model used for NCAP testing was the 110 variant with right-hand drive. The NCAP regimen includes several different crash tests: an offset front crash test into a moveable barrier with both the vehicle and the barrier traveling at 50 km/hr (31 mph), a front crash test into a full-width fixed barrier at 50 km/hr (31 mph), a side-impact crash test with a barrier traveling at 60 km/hr (37 mph) hitting the driver's door, and a side-impact test where the car strikes a pole at 32 km/hr (20 mph). The Defender's scores for the adult occupant and for a child occupant were both 85%. Additionally, the agency looks at the severity of injuries of the vehicle striking a pedestrian, taking data for a pedestrian's head hitting the hood, and their upper and lower leg being hit by the front of the vehicle. There is also testing of the vehicle's automatic emergency braking system's ability to avoiding hitting a pedestrian and a cyclist under various scenarios. The efficacy of active-safety systems for avoiding collisions with other vehicles is also tested. The Defender's score for protecting pedestrians and cyclists was 71%. The driver assists scored 79%. Results for several European-market cars were released together with those for the Defender, the most noteworthy of which was for the Honda E. The electric city car fared less well than the big Land Rover, garnering a score of four stars overall. In the same battery of test, the Honda E scored 76% for adult occupant protection, 82% for a child occupant, 62% for protecting pedestrians and cyclists, and 65% for its driver assists. Watch a Cayenne Turbo S, Range Rover SVR, and Cherokee SRT drag race
Thu, Mar 17 2016We live in a weird world where high-performance SUVs could win a 60-mile-per-hour sprint against sports cars from just a few years ago. Here, Top Gear sets up a three-way drag race against the Porsche Cayenne Turbo S, Land Rover Range Rover Sport SVR, and Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT, and the results show just how quickly these high-riding models can cross the quarter mile. The Cherokee SRT is the patriotic choice among the three, but it's down on power in this fight. Meanwhile, the Range Rover's menacing growl sounds the best, and the Cayenne Turbo S has the most horsepower. You'll have to watch the video to see which SUV will win this battle. Related Video:
Jaguar Land Rover data leak reveals employee records, upcoming layoffs
Fri, May 25 2018A massive data leak has revealed the personnel files of hundreds of employees at Jaguar Land Rover's factory in Solihull, England. The documents reveal details such as sick days used, disciplinary issues and — most notably — red lines indicating potential firings in the weeks or months ahead. In total, the personal records of more than 600 workers were released. JLR is scrambling to contain the crisis. The breach was first reported by the Huffington Post UK, with the automaker initially claiming the story was "fake news." That publicity gaff certainly didn't help matters, especially for employees staring at their name with a red line slashed across it. Last month, the British automaker had said it would be eliminating roughly 1,000 employees at factories in the U.K. The Solihull plant, which produces models like the Range Rover, Range Rover Sport, Jaguar F-Pace and Jaguar XE, was among those mentioned in the statement. JLR, which is owned by the Indian conglomerate Tata Motors, is facing a steep drop in sales, particularly in its home market. The main culprits include a huge slump in sales of diesel-powered vehicles - a vital part of JLR's business in the U.K. and throughout Europe - along with fears about how the upcoming "Brexit" will affect business operations. In the HuffPost UK story, one worker called the situation "disgusting" and "embarrassing," adding that people at the factory now know whether they, or their colleagues, are soon due to lose their job.
