 Exterior:

Always garaged, so there is very little wear for a 12 year old vehicle.  There are a few (very few) door dings, etc. but there are some.  Scratches on passenger side     behind the rear door. Overall the paint is in great shape and the body is near perfect.

 Interior:

Very, very clean, smoker free vehicle.  There are no stains in the interior, neither seats nor floors.  We rarely had anyone in the back seats.  This is probably the cleanest 12 year old Land Rover to be found anywhere.  That being said, there are a few things that need to be pointed out.

                There are five issues:

·         First, there is a tear in the leather on the back of the front passenger seat.  This is from folding the rear seat down.  A part of the rear seat actually tears the front seat.  I have asked at the dealership and was told that almost all of these have the same tear (noted in pictures).

·         Second, there is a tear on the back of the driver’s seat arm rest for the same reason as noted above (noted in pictures)..

·         Third, on the upgraded, plush carpeted floor mat for the driver, my heel has created a worn spot.  But not stains or rips on any of them (noted in pictures)..

·         Fourth, the hand brake’s vinyl “boot” has begun to flake.  Not sure why.  This is a readily available part from third party vendors for about $20.

·         Fifth, the headliner has just begun to sag.  But, it does not hang down so much that it is noticeable to anyone outside the vehicle.

Overall, this much loved Land Rover Discovery II SE is in outstanding shape.  I have done my best to represent it as accurately as possible by pointing out the good, the bad & the ugly.  The reserve is set low, below KBB, but do not expect to "steal" this incredibly clean vehicle.

I am advertising this vehicle locally, so I may end the auction early.  If you have little or no feedback score or negative feedback I will cancel your bid.

Bid Early & Bid Often.   Thanks for looking!

Thieves stole $3.7 million worth of Jaguar Land Rover engines

Fri, Feb 3 2017

This past Tuesday was not a good one for Jaguar Land Rover. According to British news source Birmingham Mail, just over $3.7 million worth of engines were stolen from the company's factory in Solihull, England. Reportedly, the thieves drove up to the facility in a stolen semi-truck, found a trailer full of engines, hooked it up, and drove off. The thieves did this twice in one night, with the same truck, and got the first trailer in just six minutes. Perhaps more shocking is that Birmingham Mail reports this is the second time a theft of this type has occurred at the facility. The previous time happened in almost exactly the same way, but the engines taken were valued at just over $1.2 million, and five people were convicted of the crime. Currently, local police are looking for the latest suspects and the engines. The trailers were found, but were empty. We got in touch with a Jaguar representative who provided us the company's official statement: "We can confirm that we are working closely with West Midlands Police to investigate the theft of engines from the Solihull manufacturing plant. A reward is on offer to anyone who has information which leads to the successful recovery of these engines. It would be inappropriate for us to make any further comment whilst this investigation is ongoing." This was the only statement he would provide, and didn't provide answers as to what engines were stolen and if there would be any impact on manufacturing or vehicle deliveries. But if you're in the UK, and you've got a tip, let the cops know. 2018 Range Rover Sport Coupe spied in Scotland

Wed, Jun 8 2016

Sport utility vehicles are the rage. SUVs with coupe styling are pretty popular, too, as BMW and Mercedes have demonstrated. Now it's Land Rover's turn. Believed to be the upcoming Range Rover Sport Coupe, this ute was spied this week during top secret testing at a remote location in Scotland. The vehicle would slot between the Range Rover Sport and Evoque, giving Land Rover an answer to the Mercedes GLE and BMW X6. These shots show what appears to be a chopped roofline, giving the new model a sportier profile than the traditional upright silhouette of Rovers. We expect it will use a version of the aluminum Jaguar F-Pace platform and offer V6 and V8 engines. It could also offer a hybrid or full electric version. The new crossover might also be lower set in a bid to differentiate it from traditional Rovers and give it a performance vibe. The Range Rover Sport Coupe – or whatever it is ultimately called – would enter a strong segment that's found favor in the United States. Once derided for potentially offering less function than traditional utes, these lifestyle vehicles have developed a strong following for their style and capability. The X6 was so successful, BMW added the smaller X4, and this forced Mercedes to follow suit with the GLE and GLC coupe variants. In this context, it's about time for Land Rover to join the fray. Jaguar Land Rover considering Mexican plant

Mon, Apr 27 2015

Jaguar Land Rover has been expanding its production out of the UK and into overseas markets, and according to the latest word from Bloomberg, the British automaker is considering spending more than half a billion dollars to build a new assembly plant somewhere in Mexico. Since the Range Rover Sport and Evoque are two of the company's top sellers in the US, those would reportedly be the most likely to be manufactured at the Mexican plant, although Jaguars could follow as well. The automaker was previously said to be leaning towards a location in the Southern US, and while it could conceivably proceed with plans for both, it would be more likely to go with one or the other. State and local authorities below the Mason-Dixon line have been soliciting the business with various incentives, but lower labor costs South of the Border could prove more attractive to JLR and its parent company Tata. It wouldn't be the first, after all. Over the past month alone, General Motors committed to building the next Chevy Cruze in Mexico, Toyota did the same with the Corolla, Hyundai was reported to be considering a similar step, and Ford announced two new plants in the country amounting to a $2.5-billion investment. Luxury automakers like Audi, BMW and Mercedes have also been delving into Mexican production as well, blazing a path that JLR could potentially follow. The British automaker recently opened a plant in China and another in Brazil, while investing in additional facilities in the UK as well.
