Nas90 ---> 110 Tdi Diesel, Loaded With Upgrades, Seats 9, A/c Htd Seat Etc on 2040-cars
Marshville, North Carolina, United States
This was a client's custom build- his first Defender, who decided to go a different venue with modern creature comforts and amenities. Only 300 miles the past year indicative of his loss of interest. While this creates a wonderful opportunity to to purchase a great Defender, it should also make one realize this is NOT an Escalade or Range Rover!! It is a basic Defender with amenities added, but at it's core, it is a world renowned back country exploration vehicle. It is certainly capable of daily driver duties, and in fact will return 27+ mpg doing so. But, they have their quirks, and are not for everyone. They are loud, stiff, slow whilst being solid proven military and UN platforms. If your expectation is realistic to their design, you will be in love for ever. However, if you expect a modern day luxury experience, you will be grossly disappointed!!
So, on to what this exceptional Defender has to offer. She is loaded with options like canvas seat covers including jump seats, heated seats, heated windscreen, stereo, A/C, new tires, new suspension springs and shocks, winch, spare tire carrier, LED lights, new alloy hinges, Hannibal roof rack, Safety Devices cage, sill sliders/side steps, complete disassemble and color change to Sahara Tan, and more- not to mention a fresh 300 Tdi drivetrain!! The Defender is kitted, and ready to go for many years of enjoyment!! Feel free to inquire about adding your personal touches!!! If you are unfamiliar with our builds, please visit our showroom of sold vehicles, as well as the restoration page at thervrbarn. Please realize this vehicle is 20 years old, and as such offers no warranty what so ever. The vehicle is sold as is, where is, with pick up or shipping at the buyers expense. Prebid inspection is welcome and encouraged- however, once you bid, your obligation is to purchase, not inspect. Bidders with less than 5 transactions or feedback less than 100% must contact me prior to bidding, or your bid will be cancelled. I apologize for this stipulation, but this is a sincere listing and only want sincere bidders. Please realize this also ensures real bids and prevents artificial inflation by ghost bidders. Thanks for your cooperation. Cheers, and good luck bidding!! More pictures to be uploaded tomorrow, sorry, but rain today... |

Jaguar to sell all-electric cars by 2030, and six electric Land Rovers coming in next five years
Mon, Feb 15 2021Jaguar is making a big transition to become an electric-only car company. The switchover is meant to kickoff in 2025, and by 2030, Jaguar says 100% of its vehicle sales will be of electric models. Land Rover is taking a similar route, but to a lesser extent. The British off-roading brand says that it will introduce six pure electric variants in the next five years, with eyes on 60% of its sales being of electric models by 2030. Its first all-electric model will arrive in 2024, JLR said. An Automotive News report cites CEO Thierry Bollore, saying he expects "almost zero" production of cars with internal combustion engines by 2039, making that the theoretical end date of Land Rover vehicles with ICEs. JLR, owned by India's Tata Motors, said on Monday the Jaguar brand will lead the way with a fully-electric model range built on a brand-new electric platform. The Land Rover EVs are to be built on a separate electric vehicle architecture to provide for "two clear unique personalities." The Land Rover EVs are said to be finding homes on both the Modular Longitudinal Architecture (MLA) and Electric Modular Architecture (EMA). Both support combustion engine layouts and full EV layouts, but the latter is said to be more biased toward EVs and to exclusively support "advanced electrified ICE." Both brands will be taking advantage of technology from within the Tata Group (JLR's owners) to make this transition happen. There's limited information on the future of certain models for the time being, but Jaguar did say that its previously-planned XJ replacement will no longer have a place in the brand's lineup. That said, Jaguar says the nameplate might stick around, with the assumption it could be used on an all-new future EV. Additionally, Automotive News reports that Jaguar will transition away from SUV-style vehicles, citing Bollore — the theory being that Land Rover takes over and completely fills that space in the future. We'll be wondering about what will become of the F-Pace and E-Pace. Our biggest Jaguar question concerns the F-Type, though. Will we get a fully electric version of the sports car in the future? Jaguar didn't address it, but we certainly hope so. JLR said that as it electrifies its model range, it will keep all three of its British plants open. But Bollore, who took over as chief executive in September, said the carmaker's Castle Bromwich plant in central England would focus on "non-production" activities in the long term.
Audi and Jaguar Land Rover recalls address seatbelt issues
Tue, Aug 2 2022Audi and Jaguar Land Rover are each recalling several thousand vehicles for separate potential seatbelt issues. The recalls cover the 2022 Audi A3 and S3; 2022 Jaguar F-Type, F-Pace and XF; and the 2022-23 Land Rover Defender, Discovery, Discovery Sport, Range Rover Sport and Range Rover Velar. Examples of these vehicles may have shipped with seatbelt pretensioners that will not function properly in the event of an accident. Audi is recalling its sedans for tensioner devices that may not adequately restrain drivers or passengers during a crash. The issue was discovered during Korean market crash testing of the high-performance RS 3. "The seat belt tensioner in the affected vehicles serve the purpose of holding the passenger in his position in the seat," Audi said in its defect report to NHTSA. "In the event of a crash, the retention force of the seat belt may not reach the intended level. As a result, the position of the body can be further to the front of the seat, which leads to a negative influence on the whole restraint system, increasing the risk of injury." A different company, Jaguar Land Rover (JLR), meanwhile, also has an issue with a batch of pretensioners installed in its cars and SUVs. Pretensioners are the devices that fire off to rapidly retract the seatbelt when a crash is detected. Most utilize an explosive charge and pressure tube JLR says that some pretensioner devices provided by one of its suppliers may not have properly-specified pressure tubes that may not channel the gasses to the retraction mechanism correctly. "A damaged front seat belt pretensioner tube may have been installed on the seat belt retractor," JLR's report said. "This may result in a reduced level or complete loss of pre-tensioning in the event of a crash and increased occupant injury." Owners of the models included in both recall campaigns should receive notices from the manufacturers in the coming months. Related video: Recalls Audi Jaguar Land Rover Ownership Safety SUV Sedan
Jaguar Land Rover considering Mexican plant
Mon, Apr 27 2015Jaguar Land Rover has been expanding its production out of the UK and into overseas markets, and according to the latest word from Bloomberg, the British automaker is considering spending more than half a billion dollars to build a new assembly plant somewhere in Mexico. Since the Range Rover Sport and Evoque are two of the company's top sellers in the US, those would reportedly be the most likely to be manufactured at the Mexican plant, although Jaguars could follow as well. The automaker was previously said to be leaning towards a location in the Southern US, and while it could conceivably proceed with plans for both, it would be more likely to go with one or the other. State and local authorities below the Mason-Dixon line have been soliciting the business with various incentives, but lower labor costs South of the Border could prove more attractive to JLR and its parent company Tata. It wouldn't be the first, after all. Over the past month alone, General Motors committed to building the next Chevy Cruze in Mexico, Toyota did the same with the Corolla, Hyundai was reported to be considering a similar step, and Ford announced two new plants in the country amounting to a $2.5-billion investment. Luxury automakers like Audi, BMW and Mercedes have also been delving into Mexican production as well, blazing a path that JLR could potentially follow. The British automaker recently opened a plant in China and another in Brazil, while investing in additional facilities in the UK as well.
