A soft top with roll cage, and tailgate are fitted. The vehicle also comes with the original military updated trim on the interior. Conversion to LHD is also possible here in the USA.

VIN: SALLDVAC7AAxxxxxx

This British Army Land Rover Defender 90 is exceptional. It served 26 years and was serviced meticulously. All the panels are like new, the paint is original Land Rover military green. The interior is the latest military upgrade to these trucks, seats covered with Outlast (Exmoor trim) fabric for durability and use in hot and extreme climates. In the back, bench seats with fully retractable seat belts provide seating for four. The tailgate has the original digging tools fitted.

The engine is the original heavy duty British Army diesel, with a design that has been tested in an arduous 500hour durability test. The truck odometer shows just over 22,000 km, confirmed on the military retirement certificate. The odometer was changed at 10999 km so the total vehicle mileage is likely to be more.

The vehicle is in Virginia Beach with full clear Virginia title and all customs paperwork appropriately stamped during its import process. The Defender has a VA state inspection, is exempt EPA emissions testing, and as it is older than 25 years old, exempt from DOT regulations as an antique.

The truck is totally stock military spec and drives very well. All seals and the drive train have been inspected, and timing belt changed. It has Land Rover power assisted steering fitted.

This Land Rover Defender 90 served with 105 Regt RA (V) for 26 years, eventually retiring from the British Army at the end of 2012.

The regiment commemorated the 61st anniversary of Her Majesty The Queen's accession to the throne at Edinburgh Castle.

In Scotland, 7 Feb 2013, gunners from 105 Regiment Royal Artillery (Volunteers) fired a 21-gun royal salute at Edinburgh Castle, Scotland.

Commanding Officer of 105 Regiment Royal Artillery, Lieutenant Colonel James Cook, said:

“The regiment is honoured to fire the royal salute at Edinburgh Castle to commemorate the accession of Her Majesty The Queen.

The royal salute provides a great occasion for the gunners to display their professionalism and pride in conducting such an honour in Scotland’s capital city.”

These are the top luxury cars bought by people entering the segment for the first time

Fri, 25 Jul 2014

Let's say you just got a big promotion at work or the kids are moving out of the house, and you finally have some extra money. You decide to blow it all at once and treat yourself by upgrading your ride. Naturally, you look to a luxury automaker. What do you choose?
Models like the Audi A3 and Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class may be tailor-made to introduce buyers to the premium segment, but a new study finds that they don't garner the highest rates of non-luxury customer conquests. It turns out that a Volvo leads among folks moving up to a premium brand, and it isn't even one that's made anymore, at that.
A recent study by Polk and IHS Automotive looked at what models had the highest rates of buyers upgrading from a non-luxury segment. The information comes from its new vehicle registration data through April 2014. All ten top models boasted conquest rates of over 50 percent, but the Volvo C70 led the field with 68.01 percent of its customers coming from non-premium brands.

Jaguar Land Rover to cut $6.8 billion in costs

Tue, Nov 10 2015

Jaguar Land Rover reduce costs by $6.8 billion and will push annual production volume to 1 million vehicles under a secret project called Leap 4.5, according to Reuters. The British automaker wants to achieve these ambitious goals by the end of the decade to compensate for the changing market in China and to counteract the price of meeting stricter emissions standards around the world. Leap 4.5 won't mean firing workers or cutting the automaker's $4.5 billion annual research budget. JLR will instead find savings by underpinning more models with modular platforms and by adjusting its supply chain. Future factories like the one in Brazil and the proposed plant in Slovakia also won't be affected by the new strategy. Globally, JLR continues to grow, and deliveries are up two percent through October 2015 to 390,965 vehicles. Business just last month was up 24 percent year-over-year to 41,553 units. However, the auto market's downturn in China has taken a bite out the automaker's success because volume dropped there 32 percent in the third quarter, Reuters reported. A global volume of 1 million vehicles will mean more than doubling 2014's 462,678 deliveries, but JLR has made significant investments to boost production recently. In addition to the future factories, it opened its first plant in China last year and an engine assembly site in the UK. The company also signed a deal with Magna Steyr in 2015 to build an upcoming model in Austria. Related Video:

2016 Jaguar F-Type R at Monticello | AutoblogVR

Tue, Sep 27 2016

This week we indulged in a bit of fun. We took one of our favorite sports cars, the 2016 Jaguar F-Type to Monticello Motor Club north of New York. Senior Editor Greg Migliore selected the 550-horsepower R variant and pushed this Jag to the limit at one of North America's prettiest tracks. He reveled in the supercharged V8's power and sound as he embraced Monticello's curves and long straightaways. Meanwhile, Consumer Editor Jeremy Korzeniewski had a similar experience. Kind of. He lapped Monticello in the 2016 Land Rover Range Rover Sport SVR and then went off-roading at a challenging course nearby. It's the best of both worlds. He gets to soak in the blown V8 – but also gets to splatter a little mud. Each week, new episodes will launch on the AutoblogVR App. We'll preview them here on Autoblog, but for the full immersive experience, head over to the app, which you can download for free from the App store and Google Play.
