My kids and I will be sad to see it go. Would like to see it go to a tender loving Canadian family or farm... It would make a nice advertisement platform for a small business owner or a nice expedition truck!

This is an original Euro specs 1994 Land Rover Defender 110 TDI. It is the left hand drive version (the correct side for Canada and USA). Has a strong running diesel engine, no leaks. It's the base model with manual windows, 5 speed manual transmission, no A/C. Has a pop-up sunroof.

Has been garage kept since I own it. I imported it myself from Europe. I was planning to restore it completely.

- 300TDI Engine starts easily. 5 speed manual transmission and transfer case shift as it should.
- The engine bay is very clean, has no weird noise, no fume, nothing is loose. Very clean.
- Drives straight. Easily reach 115KM on Highway (probably more but I never tried). No vibration, no problems with suspension and steering.
- 5 nice matching Michelin tires in good condition!
- All lights and gauges are working. Battery was changed 2 years ago.
- The seats are clean, the fabric is nice. All seats and seat belts are functional. No rips, no stains. Carpets do have some wear. The headliner is kind of loose and needs cleaning.
- The roof top shows like it should be reseal. I never took the time to do it since I never used the truck in bad weather. Always garage kept.
- I have a spare rear bumper and frame assembly, that was given to me by the previous owner. I do not think it should be replaced as it involves some cutting and welding on the frame. But would give this part to you if you want it.
- The truck has some rust (like around doors). A lot less than most Canadian SUV of that year. Nothing is major to me. But would benefit from a complete restoration. The body is mostly aluminium so no rust there. Very solid truck overall.
- The rear bumper just restored. The old rusty bumper was recap with a plate of steel to pass the local safety inspection.
- I have a spare rear bumper and frame assembly, that was given to me by the previous owner. I do not think it should be replaced as it involves some cutting and welding on the frame. But would give this part to you if you want it.
- It shown no sign of any prior accident. All serial numbers are matching. This is an honest original truck.
- The blue paint is faded. Would be nice to have it painted (graphic wrap maybe?)
- This is not a new truck, but I would drive it right away across the country.
- Currently, I do not have much time for these trucks. Only issue: Low/High bean are not working. Side markers are not working. These are all on the same relay I believe so it is probably just a relay. All these were working 1 year ago when the truck got safety inspected.

My plan was to use this truck as a daily driver for the next 5 years and then restore it with a new galvanized frame from UK.

I have about 25 pictures and two videos to show on request.
Reason to sell: I'm selling all my trucks to finance a business project.
I do not want to loose time with un-serious people. Test drive upon accepted offer only.

100$ paypal deposit with 24h. I know what it is to buy a car sight unseen. If you are located away and really need a truck like this one, please note I would refund your deposit if not completely satisfied upon seeing the truck for real. No refund if you are not showing.

Note: Defenders are highly valuable in USA. In only 5 years this truck will be a  lot more valuable as it would meet USA 25 year import requirements for out of country classic cars. This Land Rover is like real estate. Basically this investment will not cost you anything, it's taking value with time.Truck is located about 1 hour east of Montreal, Quebec. I do not ship but would help if you need to arrange something. I cannot issue a temporary tag or insurance. I'm not a car dealer. The truck is registered in my business name. Taxes will be according to your location (GST, PST, HST).

I will help with shipping in Canada or Export anywhere in the world. Except USA. This vehicle cannot be exported to USA before an other 5 years.

Please contact me to discuss further.

I will also be selling my truck collection including a Unimog 406 and Volvo TGB11 C303 in nice condition.

Jaguar opens new engine plant in the UK

Thu, 30 Oct 2014

The heads of Jaguar Land Rover are having a busy couple of weeks opening factories. Just days after inaugurating the company's first overseas plant in China, the automaker's new Engine Manufacturing Center in the UK is being inaugurated, as well. The plant near Wolverhampton, England, marks the first time in decades that JLR is building its own powerplants in-house. Further signaling the importance of this launch for the business, Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip were on hand and even tweeted about it.
The factory's first major project is to build JLR's latest Ingenium four-cylinders, starting with the 2.0-liter diesel version. "Our new Engine Manufacturing Centre is an important step in advancing the competitiveness and capability of the UK automotive sector. The production of in-house engines will support the expansion of the UK supply chain providing critical mass for inward investment," said Trevor Leeks, plant operations director in the automaker's announcement.
Opening the doors to the Engine Manufacturing Center has been years in the making for JLR. The plant was first announced in September 2011 and broke ground in June 2012. Building it cost the company 500 million pounds ($800 million) and created 1,400 new jobs. Of course, being a state-of-the-art factory, considerations were made to make the place as energy efficient as possible. That meant installing the UK's largest solar array with 21,000 panels to produce about 30 percent of the site's electricity needs.

SVR plans to tune electrified Jaguar-Land Rover models, but not the I-Pace

Sun, May 24 2020

Jaguar-Land Rover's SVR division has only put its name on high-horsepower gasoline-burning cars, like the XE Project 8 built in strictly limited numbers. It's open to the idea of tuning electrified models, whether they're electric or hybrid, but it confirmed it's not currently planning on making a spicier evolution of the I-Pace. "We will be developing electrified versions of our cars, be that fully electrified or plug-in hybrids," affirmed Michael van der Sande, the division's managing director, in an interview with Auto Express. But although the electric I-Pace (pictured) raced in a one-make race series held on the sidelines of Formula E events for two seasons, and SVR could credibly claim to inject track DNA into a street car, it stressed the I-Pace doesn't appear in its product plans for reasons that remain a little bit murky. Jaguar announced the end of the eTrophy series in May 2020, which might explain why it's reluctant to exploit racing's marketing power. "There are other various things we are working on which we can't talk about, but we're very interested in electrification. That's why we got involved in eTrophy," van der Sande clarified. "The technology transfer, the learning applies to that car and other cars but we're not planning an SVR I-Pace at the moment." His comments confirm we'll need to be patient to see what SVR's take on an electric or hybrid car looks like. One of the first electrified models to receive the go-fast treatment might be the next-generation XJ tentatively scheduled to make its debut before the end of 2020. It will be exclusively electric, though it won't look as radical as the I-Pace, so Jaguar will need to find a way to replace the hot-rodded XJR 575 model it positioned at the top of the last-generation model's line-up. It's not too far-fetched to speculate the next Range Rover also due out in the coming months will receive some degree of electrification, and it could spawn an SVR-tuned model, too. Is Jaguar's 3 Series-fighter the brand's last chance?

Wed, 16 Oct 2013

The upcoming line of compact 3 Series-fighters from Jaguar, often referred to as the Jaguar XS, could consist of a sedan, wagon and possibly a coupe and GT model (think BMW 5 Series GT). The car's all-aluminum architecture also will provide the basis for two new sports utility vehicles. Just how important is the much-touted "baby Jag" project to parent company Jaguar Land Rover? A JLR executive reportedly says the brand's survival is directly linked to the success of the XS, codenamed X760, Autocar reports.
The brand's survival is directly linked to the success of the XS.
"If the X760 fails, it will probably be the end for the [Jaguar] brand," the executive says. But Adrian Hallmark, Jaguar's global brand director, claims Jaguar will "build the most advanced, most efficient, most refined car in that [compact luxury sedan] segment. Not almost as good as, but better than the best in the world."
