Artist gives Lamborghini Huracan fierce rattle-can paint job

It is nearly impossible to make a car as flashy as a Lamborghini even more so, but Miami-based artist and car customizer Rich B Caliente did just that. Caliente recently unveiled a piece where he painted an Imperial stormtrooper helmet from Star Wars in a striking mixture of matte blues, silvers, and golds. Not long after, Caliente was contacted by an artist known only as ZEVIGG who saw the customized stormtrooper helmet and wanted the same treatment for his Lamborghini Huracan. "I asked him to give me a day to think about this project since it involved major amounts of time and effort, on top of that it had never been done before as far as color blending an entire car. After some careful thought, I felt confident that I could knock it out of the box even though it was a $200,000-dollar car I'd be using as my canvas," Caliente told DUB Magazine. Dubbed "Project Inspire", the work took place over the course of three days in a paint booth at Exclusive Motoring, a high-end customization shop in Miami. Using nothing but spray paint cans, Caliente hand painted the Lamborghini like a grafitti artist spraying an underpass. The mixture of paints gave the car a rich patina and provided a base on which the car's owner added his own personal artistic touches. The car's look was capped off by Vossen Precision Series wheels, which were painted to match the car, and a set of grippy Toyo Proxes to keep the powerful Lambo planted. Soon after completion, the car was driven at the Miami leg of the Bullrun Rally. It now resides with its owner in New York City, where ZEVIGG parades it around as a rolling piece of art. Leno hops behind the wheel of Adam Carolla's 1968 Lamborghini Islero

The Last time Adam Carolla was on Jay Leno's Garage with his 1966 Ferrari 330 GT 2+2, the vintage Italian ran out of gas while out on the drive. Leno has found endless humor in this since, and continues to rib Carolla about not driving his cars enough. With the famous comedian and podcaster's return to JLG, he has switched Italian supercar brands to show off his recently restored 1968 Lamborghini Islero. One of just 125 made, the Islero is a rare piece of Lambo history. The styling is a bit of a departure from the brand's early GTs with a more angular shape and pop-up headlights. The rear is also especially beautiful, with four exhaust outlets poking out like stingers. Underneath the hood is the Italian brand's famous and aesthetically beautiful V12 with four liters of displacement. Take a short ride in this sports coupe and listen to Leno's constant needling of Carolla right up until the very end.

Lamborghini Aventador SV production limited to 600 units

Six hundred. That's how many examples of the Aventador LP 750-4 Superveloce Lamborghini will make. Not per year, but in total. So if you want one, you'd better act fast. The production figure was announced at the new SV's Chinese debut at the Shanghai Motor Show this week, following the supercar's worldwide debut at the Geneva Motor Show and its subsequent North American premier at Amelia Island. That's where the Raging Bull marque announced the Superveloce's price at $485,900 before tax and destination charges, or $493,095 all-in. For all that scratch, you get a supercar with a good old-fashioned, naturally aspirated 6.5-liter V12 driving 740 horsepower to all four wheels for a 0-62 time of 2.8 seconds and a top speed of 217 miles per hour. That would make the SV one of the fastest cars on the road (if it were legal to drive that fast) this side of a hypercar costing twice or more what Lambo's asking for the Aventador SV. Now if that production run seems rather small to you, bear in mind that Sant'Agata only produced 2,530 vehicles last year, and that was an all-time record for the marque. Go back a more than a decade and Lambo wasn't even coming close to completing that many vehicles in a calendar year altogether.
