Minnesota Vikings rookie Jordan Addison caught doing 140 in a 55 for a 'dog emergency'
Tue, Jul 25 2023At the end of April, NFL teams spent three days picking new players from the 2023 draft class. With the 23rd pick in the first of three rounds, the Minnesota Vikings chose a 21-year-old wide receiver named Jordan Addison, who came out of the University of Southern California. The season hasn't started yet — training camp began two days ago — and Addison has already had to publicly apologize to his new city. Two days before camp began, ESPN reported a Minnesota State Patrol officer caught Addison doing 140 miles per hour in a Lamborghini Urus at 3:07 in the morning. The speed limit on that stretch of I-94 in St. Paul, a mile from downtown, is 55 mph. The way a different ESPN report is written, it sounds like there were two troopers involved. Allegedly, "Addison first slowed down when he saw police lights from another trooper who was pulled over on the right shoulder of the road," and the second trooper made the stop, pulling the footballer over without incident. According to the misdemeanor citation issued for speeding and reckless driving, Addison "stated his dog was having an emergency at his residence and that was the reason for his speed." The ticket didn't go into details about the dog or the emergency. Addison has posed with his Urus before on Instagram, while the only dog in his feed at the moment is the little guy in the last photo, which appears to be, best guess, a French bulldog. No one else was involved. We hope the dog's OK. The next day, the rookie Viking issued the statement, "Yesterday morning I made a mistake and used poor judgment. I recognize and own that ... I am going to learn from this and not repeat the behavior. I am truly sorry." The Minnesota Vikings are aware of the incident and "gathering additional information." Drivers in the Minnesota caught doing more than 100 mph can have their licenses revoked, but It's not clear if the matter will go any further with the organization or the police. Â
First US customer gets the keys to $1.9 million Lamborghini Centenario
Fri, May 19 2017Ferruccio Lamborghini's 100th birthday party has now reached the United States. The Lamborghini Centenario – the souped-up Aventador that celebrates Lamborghini's founder – was delivered to its first US customer in Newport Beach, CA, the company said Thursday. The $1.9 million supercar was unveiled in 2016 to mark the 100th birthday of the industry leader, and it's limited to a 40-car run that's split between coupes and convertibles. Naturally, Lambo says they're all sold out. The first US car is a black and blue hardtop. The company says this one was custom built with a glossy carbon-fiber exterior. Inside, is the same color scheme set to leather and Alcantara. Lambo says the rest of the Centenario's US customers will get their cars this year. In case you've forgotten, the supercar runs a naturally aspirated V12 with 759 horsepower capable of hitting 62 miles per hour in 2.8 seconds en route to a top clip of 217 mph. Lambo builds each one to the personal tastes of the customer through its Ad Personam program. "When Ferruccio Lamborghini began realizing his dream of creating the best supercars in the world, he wanted to reach a large audience through production, but he also wanted to keep the unique nature of limited-edition vehicles that clients are able to personalize to their own tastes and style," Automobili Lamborghini America COO Alessandro Farmeschi said in a statement. Lamborghini Aventador SV Jota spied with Huracan Performante styling
Thu, Apr 5 2018The Lamborghini Aventador S is Sant'Agata's current king. It's 6.5-liter V12 churns out 730 horsepower and 509 pound feet of torque. It has a top speed of more than 200 mph. Its looks put anything to come out of Wayne Enterprises to shame in the best possible way. But as the Lamborghini Huracan Performante showed us, there's always room for more. Just take a look at these new spy shots of the upcoming Aventador SV Jota. We don't have many details, but the car certainly looks the business. The most obvious upgrade is the fixed rear wing, but look closer and you can see that Lamborghini has redone the entire car's bodywork. There's a new front splitter, new side skirts and a new rear diffuser. Even the air intakes on the side look a little larger than those on the Aventador S. The exhaust outlets have been moved upward and appear to be an evolution of a prototype we saw last fall. Everything else is speculation. Expect some active aero similar to the trick system on the Huracan Performante. Expect even more power from the naturally aspirated V12. The car is still heavily camouflaged, but expect to see a full reveal sometime later this year. Related Video:
