For auction is my 2001 Lamborghini Diablo 6.0 VT Replica professionally built on a stretched Fiero frame. I've been told it's one of the best looking replicas by Kit Car Magazine photographer and no one asks as it even sounds close to the real thing. ALWAYS garage kept and only one non smoking owner since all work completed just a couple years ago. It is powered by an 86' Pontiac 2.8 GT 6 cyl with only 16,400 miles since rebuild. Rebuild was done to stock specs as I wanted it to be a reliable daily drivable car vs a fast race car with never ending problems, but don't let that fool you because it is extremely quick and runs very strong. It has a larger than stock Holley throttle body, a Holley fuel pressure regulator with gauge and a Hyperchip ECM upgrade that I use sometimes and sometimes not as it idles a bit high with the chip. Maybe the timing needs to be changed with the chip? I don't know. It accelerates quickly thru the gears with an amazing authentic sound and quickly reaches my cruising speed of 85 mph, then 5th gear will continue to smoothly, but quietly accelerate with low RPM's to a top speed of approx 110 mph (and that of course was on a closed track by a professional driver :) Since the frame was stretched 11" to fit the "exact in every detail" replica body by IFG (innovative fiberglass) you could certainly fit a V12 in there or it is widely known that a 3.8 Supercharged GM engine from a Bonneville SSE, Grand Am, Grand Prix, etc will bolt right up to my existing 5 speed Getrag transmission and make this car go faster than the Lambo V12 !!!. I had no interest in that though since my 6 cyl is completely reliable and plenty fast enough. I had planned to keept forever, but injuries & surgeries prompt sale soon. This car can be driven daily if desired, but it should be a secondary car as it's not very practical for everyday use. I have gone to Home Depot more than once with it only to then remember that I cant fit the item in the car ha....Starts right up every day and runs, drives and steers like a dream. Upgraded suspension with KONI shocks. Headlights, tail lights, blinkers & flashers all work great. Between 40-60 psi oil pressure, steady 14 amp battery guage since new alternator ALL gauges work perfect and light up as well. Runs at straight up 200 degrees with a new BMW radiator with 3400 CFM puller fan which brings temp down to 180 degrees as soon as it comes on. Ice cold A/C works perfect. Heat does not work, but only needs hoses connected. I live in Florida so I never took it back to complain about heater hoses being disconnected for whatever reason? Also the only other thing not working is the windshield wiper. It has an authentic looking Lambo dual wiper, but It does not have a working wiper motor at this time. It is a newly replaced real OEM Lamborghini windshield courtesy of FL state road hazard insurance program and due to the angle of it the rain just blows right off so I never worried about getting that fixed up. The quarter glass & rear glass is also real Lamborghini as is the headlights, tail lights and front parking lights. The gauges have Lamborghini script and Bull logos on the larger ones. The interior vinyl/leather is less than 2 yrs old with only a slight rub mark on the driver seat bolster edge. The interior and dash is exactly like the real Diablo and is way too nice to tint the windows as the cars interior really seals the deal on authenticity. It has the newest & hottest looking carbon ceramic rotors and big Lambo calipers as a facade hiding the original Fiero brakes which work perfectly so I saw no need to upgrade them. Tires are all matching Hankook Ventus V12 EVO's with approx 75% tread left. 305/30/ZR19 in the rear & 215/40/ZR18 in the front (they are NOT run flats !!- never again with run flats) (4) Sony Xplod speakers, MP3/MP4 DVD/CD touch screen stereo system with built in amp. This write up for Ebay took a long time and I've never done Ebay before. I would rather sell it locally to a friend or relative as I can stand behind it's reliability, but it sold as is and will need a $1,000 (negotiable) down payment within 24 hrs of sale. Then remaining funds at pick up soon thereafter. We can that all out. Buyer responsible for shipment charges. I am in the Orlando area and the car is available to be seen and driven by proven serious buyers. I am also willing to take it to the Daytona Spring car show this weekend as I may consider selling it there as well.

Lamborghini Super Trofeo series will rent you a race car for $35k, all expenses included
Mon, 24 Jun 2013Racing isn't cheap. The cars often command six-figure price sums, race teams don't work for free and then you have to get the car to races while feeding it an endless supply of tires. It's no surprise then that owning a race team is a multimillion-dollar affair, but Lamborghini and its North American Blancpain Super Trofeo series is a new way for licensed racers to get behind the wheel of a racecar for a much lower price.
As a part of the single-make series, Lamborghini will supply racers with everything you need for competition - including a race-spec Gallardo LP 570-4 Super Trofeo - as well as a trackside hospitality experience... all for a relatively affordable $35,000 per race weekend. Of course, not just anyone with a spare $35,000 can hop behind the wheel and hit the track. Lamborghini says that all drivers must have an FIA-accredited racing license for the International Motor Sport Association category with a "C" or "D" rating.
When it comes to the actual racing, there will be two 60-minute practice sessions, 40 minutes of qualifying and two 50-minute races, meaning that these cars might be the most expensive rental cars ever at $8,700 per hour. In its inaugural season, the Super Trofeo will run in conjunction with two Grand-Am races, two America Le Mans Series races, an IMSA race in Canada and finally an IndyCar race weekend in California.
Lamborghini Countach LP 500 prototype reconstruction baptized on track
Mon, Oct 25 2021After making a static debut at the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este, the reconstructed 1971 Lamborghini Countach LP 500 prototype has met the track for a proper shakedown. A banner day for all involved, no doubt, Pirelli loaned its Vizzola Ticino test track to Lamborghini, collector Albert Spiess from Germany and the contributors who helped create the car from scratch. Spiess said he saw the original prototype at the Geneva Motor Show and then put a Countach poster on his wall as a kid, determined like so many other children for the next 15 years to have one. With the Geneva show car destroyed during crash testing, Spiess eventually determined to convince Lamborghini to build one anew. It likely didn't take him more than 25,000 hours of cajoling to get a "Si" from the principals in Sant'Agata Bolognese, but that's how long the carmaker's historic division, Polo Storico, spent on the reconstruction. Polo Storico chief Stefano Castricini said it took "mad and desperate" research through archival materials, on top of the interviews with original workers and help from suppliers like Pirelli and PPG.  It doesn't look like they worked the LP 500 too hard on track, but it's not like they needed to. In a world awash in seven-figure customs and restomods from manufacturers, and smaller makers putting out cars with specs to make your eyes go googly — there will probably be three more announced next week — this one is special at any speed. For any who'd like to see it for themselves, this very item will be on display at Lamborghini's MUDETEC Museum of Technologies in Sant'Agata Bolognese until November 15, alongside the bare tubular chassis of the production LP 400 (the customer cars got a more reliable 4.0-liter 12-cylinder instead of the prototype's 5.0-liter unit), the second production LP 400 to go down the line, and a Countach 5000 Quattrovalvole. Audi considering turbo option for longer, wider Hurac?n-based R8
Mon, 10 Mar 2014The debut of the Lamborghini Huracán was (and remains) big news in and of itself, but equally as exciting is the imminent arrival of the Audi R8, which the Huracán presages. While the two will share a common architecture, don't expect that new R8 will simply be a cheaper version of the Huracán (like the current one arguably is to the Gallardo).
For one, the next R8 will be larger than the Huracán. According to emerging intelligence, Audi will make its sports car both longer and wider than the Lamborghini version. It'll also share the new Lambo's innovative carbon-fiber structure that will replace both the firewall and central tunnel. But to power it all, Audi will get more creative.
The next R8 will, like the current model and like the Huracán, offer a V10 engine at the top of the range. It will also offer the same 4.2-liter V8 as the outgoing model. But that won't be the end of the matter. Word has it that Audi is also working on a smaller, turbocharged engine to offer in certain markets that mandate smaller-capacity engines.
