Lamborghini Hurac?n configurator is ready for your Italian fantasies
Mon, 24 Feb 2014The Lamborghini Huracán might be one of the most anticipated cars to come out of Sant'Agata since the launch of its predecessor, the Gallardo. While we're stuck waiting to drive the V10-powered, all-wheel-drive Huracán, we can at least play around with the all-new configurator, which has just gone live.
Now, in terms of other online builders, the Huracán's is rather light. Tweakable features are limited to exterior and interior colors, wheel designs, caliper colors and a few other smaller items. There are also no prices listed, although this is hardly unusual for exotic configurators (Aston Martin, Bentley, Ferrari and Rolls-Royce all leave pricing info off their configurators).
Despite being rather low on stuff to do, designing one's personalized Lamborghini will always remain a pleasant means of whiling away a slow day at work. Hop over to Lamborghini's website and have a look.
Minnesota Vikings rookie Jordan Addison caught doing 140 in a 55 for a 'dog emergency'
Tue, Jul 25 2023At the end of April, NFL teams spent three days picking new players from the 2023 draft class. With the 23rd pick in the first of three rounds, the Minnesota Vikings chose a 21-year-old wide receiver named Jordan Addison, who came out of the University of Southern California. The season hasn't started yet — training camp began two days ago — and Addison has already had to publicly apologize to his new city. Two days before camp began, ESPN reported a Minnesota State Patrol officer caught Addison doing 140 miles per hour in a Lamborghini Urus at 3:07 in the morning. The speed limit on that stretch of I-94 in St. Paul, a mile from downtown, is 55 mph. The way a different ESPN report is written, it sounds like there were two troopers involved. Allegedly, "Addison first slowed down when he saw police lights from another trooper who was pulled over on the right shoulder of the road," and the second trooper made the stop, pulling the footballer over without incident. According to the misdemeanor citation issued for speeding and reckless driving, Addison "stated his dog was having an emergency at his residence and that was the reason for his speed." The ticket didn't go into details about the dog or the emergency. Addison has posed with his Urus before on Instagram, while the only dog in his feed at the moment is the little guy in the last photo, which appears to be, best guess, a French bulldog. No one else was involved. We hope the dog's OK. The next day, the rookie Viking issued the statement, "Yesterday morning I made a mistake and used poor judgment. I recognize and own that ... I am going to learn from this and not repeat the behavior. I am truly sorry." The Minnesota Vikings are aware of the incident and "gathering additional information." Drivers in the Minnesota caught doing more than 100 mph can have their licenses revoked, but It's not clear if the matter will go any further with the organization or the police. Â
At Lamborghini, gasoline is going, going, gone
Wed, Jul 5 2023Those who've waited this long to plunk down a deposit on a Lamborghini with a full combustion motor have waited too long. For six decades, the Italian brand, founded in 1963 to compete with Ferrari, delivered V8s, V10s and V12 gasoline powered engines to its aficionados. But as of now, its official: the order books have closed on Lambo’s Huracan and Urus models. Stephan Winkelmann, head of the Volkswagen subsidiary, informed the German newspaper WELT this week that all ICE models are now sold out until the end of their production cycle. Only hybrid and electric vehicles will be made from next year and transitioning to the end of the decade. The 2023 Huracan with its 631 horsepower V-10 is starting priced at about $210,000. To prepare for the switch to hybrid power, Lamborghini has invested “at least 1.8 billion Euros,” which is about $2 billion, to produce a lineup of hybrid vehicles ready for release by late 2024 and into 2025. The companyÂ’s next hybrid model is the Revuelto, which pairs a V12 engine with a plug-in hybrid powertrain. The brand anticipates offering a fully electric car “by the end of the decade,” Winkelmann has said. Globally, Lamborghini delivered 9233 vehicles in 2022, up from 8420 the previous year.
