2008 LAMBORGHINI GALLARDO SUPERLEGGERA This is one of only 172 pre-LP Superleggera's ever produced! (Only 46 finished in Arancio Borealis). Lamborghini's special edition car sheds 150Lbs and adds 10HP over the standard edition. The 5.0L naturally aspirated 530HP engine backed by optional E-Gear transmission($10,000) moves this rocket ship from 0-60 in 3.8secs, 0.2secs faster than the standard Gallardo. This car has over $25,000 in aftermarket equipment and comes FULLY LOADED with a huge $261k MSRP including optional 8 piston carbon ceramic brakes($15,600). Being a factory radio delete car, Kenwood Radio/Nav/Amp and Focal speaker system($5,500) were added without cutting any panels or wiring allowing future owners to return to stock if desired. Carbon Fiber hood and 3M black roof wrap($8,500) were also added saving additional weight and adding to the car's exotic look. FabSpeed Cat pipes were added giving it an amazing sound($2,000). It rests on 235/30/20 front and 305/25/20 rear custom Arancio Borealis and Carbon Fiber Forgiato Martellato 20" wheels($7,000) with floating carbon fiber center caps($800). Lamborghini Cabrera 'Ring session caught on video
Wed, 25 Sep 2013While our spy photographers were getting shots of the Lamborghini Gallardo replacement, said to be called "Cabrera," at the Nürburgring, there were other spotters lurking who caught the thing on video. It could just be the audio captured by the camera mic, but to our ears the exhaust sounds deeper and more burbly than that on the current car. One audio cue that can't be missed, however, is the speed of the gearchanges; think dual-clutch.
The reworked 5.2-liter V10 sitting behind the cockpit is expected to put out around 600 horsepower, sent either to all four wheels or just the rears depending on customer preference. The sights and sounds await you in the video below, your own ruminations can be heard in Comments just below that.
Lamborghini Cabrera could look this good when it replaces Gallardo
Sun, 24 Nov 2013The Lamborghini Gallardo is a bit long in the tooth, so it's only natural that Lamborghini has its replacement in the works. Referred to as the Cabrera, the new model has been seen testing on the Nürburgring with fairly heavy camouflage, but it wasn't enough to stop automotive designer and Auto Week illustrator Marco van Overbeeke from rendering what he thinks it will look like when it's finished.
After comparing the illustrations and the photos of the Cabrera testing on the Nürburgring, it's not too far-fetched to say the next V10-powered, all-wheel-drive Lamborghini might look something like what van Overbeeke has envisioned. Use your Lamborghini Aventador to roast weenies
Tue, 13 Aug 2013The Lamborghini Aventador is more than an obscenely fast supercar - it's also a ridiculously expensive barbecue. At least, that's what this video would have you believe. SCD-TV shows one of the extra uses for that shiny new Aventador in your driveway, by cooking a sausage while it belches flames out of its back end.
Now, we aren't entirely sure how good the finished sausage will be. After all, we kind of imagine that a ton of fire over such a short period of time would kind of just sear the outside while leaving the inside of the casing undercooked. Maybe the Aventador would be better suited to roasting marshmallows. There's also the question of just what's been spewed onto the hot dog by the exhaust of the Aventador. Besides not being too tasty, we aren't sure it'd really be a safe sausage to eat.
