For auction is my 2001 Lamborghini Diablo 6.0 VT Replica professionally built on a stretched Fiero frame. I've been told it's one of the best looking replicas by Kit Car Magazine photographer and no one asks as it even sounds close to the real thing. ALWAYS garage kept and only one non smoking owner since all work completed just a couple years ago. It is powered by an 86' Pontiac 2.8 GT 6 cyl with only 16,400 miles since rebuild. Rebuild was done to stock specs as I wanted it to be a reliable daily drivable car vs a fast race car with never ending problems, but don't let that fool you because it is extremely quick and runs very strong. It has a larger than stock Holley throttle body, a Holley fuel pressure regulator with gauge and a Hyperchip ECM upgrade that I use sometimes and sometimes not as it idles a bit high with the chip. Maybe the timing needs to be changed with the chip? I don't know. It accelerates quickly thru the gears with an amazing authentic sound and quickly reaches my cruising speed of 85 mph, then 5th gear will continue to smoothly, but quietly accelerate with low RPM's to a top speed of approx 110 mph (and that of course was on a closed track by a professional driver :) Since the frame was stretched 11" to fit the "exact in every detail" replica body by IFG (innovative fiberglass) you could certainly fit a V12 in there or it is widely known that a 3.8 Supercharged GM engine from a Bonneville SSE, Grand Am, Grand Prix, etc will bolt right up to my existing 5 speed Getrag transmission and make this car go faster than the Lambo V12 !!!. I had no interest in that though since my 6 cyl is completely reliable and plenty fast enough. I had planned to keept forever, but injuries & surgeries prompt sale soon. This car can be driven daily if desired, but it should be a secondary car as it's not very practical for everyday use. I have gone to Home Depot more than once with it only to then remember that I cant fit the item in the car ha....Starts right up every day and runs, drives and steers like a dream. Upgraded suspension with KONI shocks. Headlights, tail lights, blinkers & flashers all work great. Between 40-60 psi oil pressure, steady 14 amp battery guage since new alternator ALL gauges work perfect and light up as well. Runs at straight up 200 degrees with a new BMW radiator with 3400 CFM puller fan which brings temp down to 180 degrees as soon as it comes on. Ice cold A/C works perfect. Heat does not work, but only needs hoses connected. I live in Florida so I never took it back to complain about heater hoses being disconnected for whatever reason? Also the only other thing not working is the windshield wiper. It has an authentic looking Lambo dual wiper, but It does not have a working wiper motor at this time. It is a newly replaced real OEM Lamborghini windshield courtesy of FL state road hazard insurance program and due to the angle of it the rain just blows right off so I never worried about getting that fixed up. The quarter glass & rear glass is also real Lamborghini as is the headlights, tail lights and front parking lights. The gauges have Lamborghini script and Bull logos on the larger ones. The interior vinyl/leather is less than 2 yrs old with only a slight rub mark on the driver seat bolster edge. The interior and dash is exactly like the real Diablo and is way too nice to tint the windows as the cars interior really seals the deal on authenticity. It has the newest & hottest looking carbon ceramic rotors and big Lambo calipers as a facade hiding the original Fiero brakes which work perfectly so I saw no need to upgrade them. Tires are all matching Hankook Ventus V12 EVO's with approx 75% tread left. 305/30/ZR19 in the rear & 215/40/ZR18 in the front (they are NOT run flats !!- never again with run flats) (4) Sony Xplod speakers, MP3/MP4 DVD/CD touch screen stereo system with built in amp. This write up for Ebay took a long time and I've never done Ebay before. I would rather sell it locally to a friend or relative as I can stand behind it's reliability, but it sold as is and will need a $1,000 (negotiable) down payment within 24 hrs of sale. Then remaining funds at pick up soon thereafter. We can that all out. Buyer responsible for shipment charges. I am in the Orlando area and the car is available to be seen and driven by proven serious buyers. I am also willing to take it to the Daytona Spring car show this weekend as I may consider selling it there as well.

The Lamborghini Urus is the ultimate super-SUV, and you can win one here
Fri, Jun 4 2021Autoblog may receive a share from purchases made via links on this page. Pricing and availability are subject to change. No donation or payment is necessary to enter or win this sweepstakes. See official rules on Omaze. The stats: 641 horsepower. 0–60 in just over 3 seconds. A top speed of 190 miles per hour. All of those sound impressive in a performance car, but in a five-seat SUV, theyÂ’re bonkers. That kind of performance is what you get when youÂ’re behind the wheel of the 2021 Lamborghini Urus. Normally one of these super-SUVs will cost you right around a quarter of a million dollars, but for those of us who donÂ’t have that kind of cash, just head on over to Omaze, where theyÂ’re giving away a Urus, along with $20,000 in cash, with all taxes and delivery fees covered. Win a 2021 Lamborghini Urus and $20,000 - Enter at Omaze HereÂ’s what we said about the Urus when we first got behind the wheel: “With a full day of track, street and dirt driving ahead of us, our first impressions arrive hard and fast at the 2.54-mile Vallelunga circuit near Rome. It feels strange to sit behind the wheel of a Lamborghini with a turbocharged V8 and room for five, but the whip-like acceleration from a standstill leaves you neck-strained and satisfied. This thing is wickedly quick, with a claimed 0-to-62-mph time of 3.6 seconds. It might be quicker than that in the real world. That's speedier than a Gallardo, which isn't saddled with a 4,843-pound curb weight. Drop the car's numerical mass from your mind, and Urus also feels shockingly nimble in corners. Aided by active roll stabilization, an air suspension system that can lower the car up to 1.6 inches, active damping, torque vectoring, and sticky Pirelli Corsa rubber, the Urus manages to dance its way breezily through corners despite its relative heft. The standard 10-piston carbon ceramic brakes deliver phenomenal stopping power, though it sometimes felt like there was some additional brake assist that was boosting the slowdown efforts, making it difficult to finely modulate brake release during corner entry. “Dip the throttle and 641 horsepower and 627 pound-feet of torque gets laid down with a whole lot of help from the computers; there are some tight corners at Vallelunga that would have yielded understeer from a more analog vehicle, but the Urus's all-wheel drive, four-wheel steering and torque vectoring enable a point-and-shoot approach at the track.
Lamborghini say no to turbos in supercars, for now
Thu, Jul 9 2015Lamborghini is preparing to launch what will not only be its first crossover (discounting the LM002 that was a proper truck), but also looks to be its first turbocharged model as well. But will the upcoming new Urus open the door for more artificially boosted Lambos in the future? That was the question on our minds when Autoblog caught up with Stephan Winkelmann at the opening of the new Trigeneration Plant in Sant'Agata Bolognese. "Naturally aspirated engines are still the best engines which are on the market for super sports cars, in terms of acceleration, in terms of sound," said Lamborghini's chief executive during a roundtable discussion at the factory. "And unless there is [something] better, we are going to keep them." "Naturally aspirated engines are still the best. Unless there is something better, we are going to keep them." "We are constantly looking for alternatives. We are constantly seeing what we can do to make them better," said Winkelmann. "And there will maybe a day when we are introducing turbos, when the turbos are equalizing or being better than naturally aspirated engines." That moment just hasn't come yet, in Lamborghini's estimation. This in sharp contrast to rivals like Ferrari and McLaren (to say nothing of its sister company Porsche) which are wholeheartedly embracing turbocharged engines, as well as hybrid propulsion. Any engine, turbocharged or otherwise, used to propel the Urus would not be so easily slotted into one of its mid-engined supercars, either. "Usually an SUV engine has a different stroke, so usually those engines have to be adapted if you want" to use them in mid-engined supercars, said Winkelmann. "Then they're at the front so you have to turn them, and if this is going to make sense, I don't know. At this time there are no plans to do that, but in general, these engines are not suitable" for models like the Huracan or Aventador. "There would be a day when we think that turbo can be better than naturally aspirated. And that day, we will step into it."
Lamborghini's Aventador replacement will receive a new V12 engine
Fri, Jul 9 2021Lamborghini is about to close one of the longest and most significant chapters in its history. It announced the Aventador Ultimae unveiled in July 2021 is the last non-electrified, V12-powered street-legal model it will build. The car's successor, whose name hasn't been revealed yet, will inaugurate a gasoline-electric hybrid powertrain built around a new V12 engine. Company boss Stephan Winkelmann filled us in on some of the details. Sending off the non-electrified, V12-powered supercar is a big deal for Lamborghini, so a lot of time and resources went into increasing the engine's output for the grand finale. It develops 770 horsepower at 8,500 rpm and 531 pound-feet of torque at 6,750 rpm, figures that eclipse both the Aventador S and the Aventador SVJ. Winkelmann told Autoblog that 770 horses was "the best possible power output we could get" out of the 6.5-liter engine. It's the end of the road for this V12, because the Aventador's replacement will receive a new engine. Winkelmann said it's too early to reveal specific details, like its displacement, but he stressed it's not something we've seen before. And the hybrid system is notably not related to the technology that powered the limited-edition Sian. "The technology is different, it's a completely new engine, a completely new drivetrain, a new battery, everything is completely new. There's nothing out of the Sian or out of the Aventador [in the next flagship]," he said. Some things won't change. Winkelmann cited carbon fiber construction, four-wheel-drive, active aerodynamic technology, and a four-wheel steering system as attributes from the Aventador that are worth keeping. And, adding a turbo (or two, or three, or four) to the new V12 was never considered — forced induction adds weight and puts unnecessary stress on an engine. Besides, the V12 has "horsepower en masse." Natural aspiration is here to stay. Regulatory hurdles are part of what's driving Lamborghini towards electrification, so the Ultimae truly is the last of its kind. However, the non-electrified V12 could live on in some few-off models built for track use, like the Essenza SCV12. "For homologated cars, it's a no. For the others, we will see. It's not planned so far, but there could be an opportunity," Winkelmann replied when asked if future V12-powered race cars could eschew a hybrid system. This is it, then. Lamborghini will build 600 units of the Aventador Ultimae, a number split 350-250 between coupes and roadsters.
