Hamann Nervudo is an angrier Aventador
Tue, 10 Sep 2013Hamann Motorsport made a big splash at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show with a modified Lamborghini Aventador. The metallic orange monster has been rechristened the Hamann Nervudo, and packs an extra 60 horsepower and 34 pound-feet of torque, thanks to a few tweaks to the ECU. The other big mechanical change is an optional exhaust, which we're told exists solely to spit fire. Doesn't the Aventador do that already?
The big changes that transform the Aventador to the Nervudo, though, are on the surface. Hamann has made some significant aerodynamic adaptations, starting with a massive rear wing and a reformatted diffuser, with the latter made of unpainted carbon fiber.
Up front a two-piece, carbon-fiber spoiler creates a more aggressive fascia, although the overall effect is somewhat lessened, as Hamann has fitted what can only be described as flared nostrils to the Nervudo's front end. While we aren't crazy about the nose, the new side skirt and engine vents are both nice touches, particularly the scoop on the roof. Not surprisingly, the body enhancements are all available in carbon fiber. A set of multi-spoke whees from the Hamann Professional collection has been chosen to replace the stock Lamborghini items, with 21-inch hoops out back and 20-inchers in front shod in the requisite, ultra-sticky Pirelli tires.
Lamborghini Urus Evo spied playing in the snow
Wed, Jan 19 2022The Lamborghini Urus appears to be due for a well-deserved mid-cycle refresh. If we use Lamborghini’s most recent naming conventions, itÂ’s likely that the Urus will gain the name “Urus Evo” with the update. These spy shots give us a relatively clear picture of what we should expect from the updated Urus from a design perspective. The changes are mild at best, as Lamborghini is keeping whatÂ’s worked so well for the past few years. In case you missed it, the Urus is far and away LamborghiniÂ’s best-selling model now, and itÂ’s to thank for the Italian companyÂ’s record-setting 2021 sales figures. WeÂ’ll note that this winter weather Urus tester is wearing a slightly massaged front bumper with added vents. The adding of vents continues on the revised hood design that features a pair of vents unseen previously. Other notable updates come toward the rear of the Urus. We spy a new rear bumper design that takes a different approach on the integration of the rear fender vents. Those vents near the wheel arch are now far bigger and more noticeable than they are in the current Urus. And thatÂ’s about it for what we can see on the exterior of this Urus. We bet that the most important updates will come in the form of an interior updated with newer tech. Plus, thereÂ’s the chance that we get more power out of a Urus Evo. We donÂ’t suspect itÂ’ll be a massive gain in output, but any movement in the positive direction will be welcome. A massively more powerful Urus with a hybrid powertrain that borrows from PorscheÂ’s PHEV tech should follow at a later date. Related video: This content is hosted by a third party. Lambo to mark founder's birth with limited-run supercar in Geneva
Tue, Dec 1 2015Lamborghini has something special planned for the Geneva Motor Show in March. That much we knew already, but now new details have come to light. They look rather promising, if you're into the whole limited-edition supercar thing. Contrary to prior expectations, Sant'Agata's latest won't be a one-off concept like the Egoista or the Aventador J, but will be produced in a limited run of 20 examples. In that respect it looks poised to follow in the footsteps of the Veneno and Sesto Elemento. The model is tipped to be called the Centenario, and will be presented on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of company founder Ferruccio Lamborghini's birth. The tractor mogul turned supercar-maker was born on April 28, 1916, and died on February 20, 1993, at the age of 76, leaving behind him quite a legacy – and a company that has changed hands more times than an aging baseball player. According to Auto Express, which spoke with Lambo CEO Stephan Winkelmann recently about the project, the Centanario (or whatever it's ultimately called) will wear much more subtle bodywork than extreme creations like the Veneno. That could appear more in line with the styling of the Asterion concept showcased last year in Paris. It may also feature some manner of hybrid powertrain, but will likely adopt the 6.5-liter V12 from the Aventador in some state of tune.
