Had to buy a truck for work so unfortunately need to sell my Jeep. Jeep is in great shape and ready for anything - it is a tank with full rock armor. Has a few minor scratches but it is an off road machine so to be expected. No major blemishes though. The previous owner did most of the work so I have just enjoyed driving it. I have babied it (no rock crawling - even though it is completely capable) and not had any problems with it in the 2+ years I have owned it and driven it as a daily driver. The interior is very clean (sorry for the grainy pics) and well taken care of. Hoping it can go to a good home that will use it to its full potential.
Details: Silver, Auto, 92,000 miles, manual windows and doors, AC, cruise control, full metal doors and 3 piece hard top. ** Has never been in a real accident despite what the Carfax says. I was tapped from behind in a multi-car accident a year ago and it left a very small scratch on the rear 1/4" steel Rockhard custom rear bumper (that was made to bash rocks) - no damage at all and no repairs had to be made. The sedan that tapped me was rear ended and then bumped my rear bumper. More than 12K in add ons make this a great deal. Probably forgetting some but here are most of them: Teraflex 4 inch lift kit One inch coil spring spacers in front DynaTrac Pro Rock 44 axle with E-locker Rubicon Rocker Guards Coast Driveline front drive shaft (1310 u-joints) Mopar Winter Wheels BFG KM2 35x12.50-17 tires Rock Hard 4x4 Rear Tire Swing Bumper Front Mopar Rock Bumper Mile Marker 9500se winch (9500lbs) Cobra CB JKS Front and Rear Adjustable Track Bars JKS front Sway Bay disconnects Crown stainless steel brake lines Rock Hard 4x4 Full Skid Plate System (oil pan, transmission, transfer case, fuel tank, evaporator canister skid plates) ARB Rear Air Locker Mopar Rubicon Front E-Locker Yukon 5.13 gears ARB Heavy Duty Air Compressor Heavy Duty Transmission Cooler Poly Performance Tie Rod Poly Performance Flip Drag Link Poly Performance frame brace Quadratec Grab Handles Fire Extinguisher 1000 Watt Power Inverter Clarion Stereo with rear speaker box and 2 - 12" speakers - the stereo is great! EV cost burden pushing automakers to their limits, says Stellantis' CEO Tavares
Wed, Dec 1 2021DETROIT — Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares said external pressure on automakers to quickly shift to electric vehicles potentially threatens jobs and vehicle quality as producers struggle with EVs' higher costs. Governments and investors want car manufacturers to speed up the transition to electric vehicles, but the costs are "beyond the limits" of what the auto industry can sustain, Tavares said in an interview at the Reuters Next conference released Wednesday. "What has been decided is to impose on the automotive industry electrification that brings 50% additional costs against a conventional vehicle," he said. "There is no way we can transfer 50% of additional costs to the final consumer because most parts of the middle class will not be able to pay." Automakers could charge higher prices and sell fewer cars, or accept lower profit margins, Tavares said. Those paths both lead to cutbacks. Union leaders in Europe and North America have warned tens of thousands of jobs could be lost. Automakers need time for testing and ensuring that new technology will work, Tavares said. Pushing to speed that process up "is just going to be counter productive. It will lead to quality problems. It will lead to all sorts of problems," he said. Tavares said Stellantis is aiming to avoid cuts by boosting productivity at a pace far faster than industry norm. "Over the next five years we have to digest 10% productivity a year ... in an industry which is used to delivering 2 to 3% productivity" improvement, he said. "The future will tell us who is going to be able to digest this, and who will fail," Tavares said. "We are putting the industry on the limits." Electric vehicle costs are expected to fall, and analysts project that battery electric vehicles and combustion vehicles could reach cost parity during the second half of this decade. Like other automakers that earn profits from combustion vehicles, Stellantis is under pressure from both establishment automakers such as GM, Ford, VW and Hyundai, as well as start-ups such as Tesla and Rivian. The latter electric vehicle companies are far smaller in terms of vehicle sales and employment. But investors have given Tesla and Rivian higher market valuations than the owner of the highly profitable Jeep and Ram brands. That investor pressure is compounded by government policies aimed at cutting greenhouse gas emissions. The European Union, California and other jurisdictions have set goals to end sales of combustion vehicles by 2035.
Fiat Chrysler working on an inline-six to replace the Pentastar V6?
Fri, Sep 21 2018Get out your Skeptics Hat for this one and keep it close by. Allpar cites "reliable sources" to write that Fiat Chrysler appears to be working on a new inline-six engine to be slotted into company products around the globe. The purported engine would be based on the 2.0-liter Global Medium Engine inline-four. Allpar first reported on the potential development in February 2017 and has filed a few updates since then, one citing "internal communications referring to a GME T6" — the "T" meaning turbocharged. It's said that some engineers have changed their online resumes to reflect their focus on the new motor. Apparently, FCA tried adding forced induction to the Pentastar V6 but didn't like the results. The new direction then turned toward a "compact straight-six." In at least one guise, the GME I-6 would come in at just under three liters in order to escape taxes on engines 3.0-liters and above in certain European markets; the 2.0-liter four-cylinder has an actual displacement of 1.995 liters. The present V6 Pentastar comes in 3.2-liter and 3.6-liter guises; a turbocharged 3.0-liter straight-six should be able to replace both as far as output. Hooking up to the company's eTorque system used on the 3.6-liter Pentastar and 5.7-liter Hemi would make things even more punchy. With the trend in truck engine downsizing, it wouldn't be crazy to see such an engine head straight to Ram. The four-cylinder GME unit serves in the Alfa Romeo Giulia and Stelvio, and Jeep Cherokee, Wrangler, and Grand Commander. The big Alfa Romeos and full-size Jeep and Ram models shouldn't have any problem with a longer inline engine. Maserati, which doesn't use the Pentastar engine, could be a candidate as well should it choose to step away from its Ferrari-developed engine cred. Speaking of Ferrari, the Italian brand is working up a new V6 based, in its words, on "a very, very particular architecture." It isn't clear where it will go or if one of the other Italian brands will get access to it, but the Allpar piece says the Ferrari V6 will be based on the core GME architecture for Maserati. Chrysler gave up its last inline-six 11 years ago when the 4.0-liter I-6 retired alongside the JK-series Jeep Wrangler. The engine format is back in vogue, and its reincarnations have received good reviews. But inline-sixes are generally longer, hence FCA's focus on a compact unit, and that could limit the purported engine's placement options.
Watch this 9-year-old drive Jeep Wrangler off-road [w/poll]
Wed, 28 May 2014This nine-year-old girl might be better at rock crawling than some people twice her age. But is it worth putting her in danger to do it? According to her father on the Jeep Experience Facebook page, her name is Faith, and she has been offroading with her family since she was two. At nine years old, she's now driving her dad's Jeep over the rocks by herself.
As you can see she's belted in and under her father's direct supervision and guidance. She shows immense confidence for someone her age and follows her dad's instructions on exactly what to do. Although, this could still be a very dangerous situation if something went wrong.
Previously, we saw a similar video with a six-year-old on a motorcycle driving on public roads through the desert. Voters decided by only a six-point margin that the adult should be in trouble for letting the kid ride the bike. Here, we have a slightly older child driving a vehicle off road. Where do you fall in this case? Is it still wrong to hand over control to a child? Let us know in the poll below and scroll down to watch the video.
