Lombard, Illinois, United States

For Sale: 1994 Jeep Wrangler SE Sports Utility.
Condition: This Wrangler is in Good to Fair condition. The carpets are in good condition with brand new floor mats. The top and windows are brand new, recently replaced September of 2013 ($1400 cost). This jeep has never been smoked in. There are a couple rust bubbles on the body, but that’s standard equipment on these older jeeps and this is certainly a clean one when you see others on the road. some very light bubbling-up on the windshield frame, right above the seal. It's shown in pictures. This Jeep is clean, but It's not absolutely perfect, it's a 20-yr old Jeep, so there are a few scratches some rust, but, with that being said, This is a very nice and mostly stock all-season Jeep. This Jeep runs great, shifts smoothly and starts right up. I've never had it off-road, (I doubt it has ever been), but I do put it in 4x4 every few months just to keep things lubricated. Also, 4X4 works great in the winter, cuts thru snow like butter :) Features: Besides all stock features, This Jeep also has a CURT Trailer Hitch, Tuffy Series II Security Console, Pioneer MP3 CD player w/ remote, and Fog Lights. Not to mention that this jeep also has the original tire and wheel jack under the hood. a rarity for these older jeeps. History: I bought this Jeep june of 2010 and have owned it since. when purchased, it had only 149645 miles. The previous owner is an ASE certified Mechanic, so when I purchased this jeep, I knew it came from a good home. I have always taken this jeep to Professional Mechanics for work and Jeep dealerships for all oil changes. I have Documentation included for 4 yeas I have owned this jeep including a clear title. Terms of Sale: A deposit of $500 is needed within 24 hrs of close of auction made thru PayPal or in Cash in Person. Remainder of payment required with in 3 days of Auction close and made payable thru PayPal or CASH. I reserve the right to cancel bids and/or my auction at anytime for any reason. This Vehicle may be offered thru other sites and also Locally. All out of state buyers are responsible for pick up and delivery of this jeep. GMC wants to target Jeep with compact crossover
Mon, Dec 14 2015GMC execs might consider adding a Jeep competitor to the range, but rather than new rumors of a Wrangler-fighter, this time the Professional Grade brand could go after the Renegade. Division boss Duncan Aldred would like to broaden the brand's lineup with a subcompact crossover. "I keep telling everyone, 'How can General Motors' truck brand not be in the fastest-growing segment in the industry, an SUV segment," he said to Automotive News but wouldn't confirm whether the model was under development. General Motors already offers small crossovers like the Chevrolet Trax and Buick Encore, but the CUV segment in general continues to drive auto sales in the US. Adding a similarly sized GMC to the mix might increase the automaker's volume by appealing to different customers. "A GMC buyer is very different from a Buick buyer. This is like comparing the Fiat 500X to the Jeep Renegade. They are very similar but appeal to different people," Dave Sullivan, Product Analysis Manager at AutoPacific, told Autoblog. Aldred started the speculation about a Wrangler-fighting model in an interview in late 2014, and the company reportedly even raised the idea of an offroad-focused vehicle to dealers to see how they reacted. The development process was only in the very early planning stages, but the brand considered using Hummer for a little of the new product's inspiration. Aldred later suggested to journalists the possibility of adding a compact or midsize SUV to the GMC range in the next 10 years to appeal to more buyers. He didn't comment directly on the possibility of the Wrangler-challenger at the time beyond saying: "I can't confirm that ... everything's on the table." Related Video:

Massachusetts man charged $48,000 for a tow [w/video]
Wed, Oct 28 2015Tow truck operators are right up there with landlords and IRS auditors on the list of professionals you don't want to deal with. A man in Massachusetts has all the more reason to avoid a tow after he was hit with a $48,000 bill, Fox 25 reports. Joel Ramer and his girlfriend were off-roading in Walpole, MA last week when they wandered were they shouldn't have. They landed in a mud pit on private property. Ramer said it took Assured Collision towing company 12 hours to free his vehicle from the muck. But when he got the bill for the tow, he thought the accounting department must have been off by a decimal. "When I went to pick up the vehicle from Assured Collision, he'd informed me there was some damage done to the vehicle, but didn't get into details. He also informed me the bill was $48,000," Ramer told Fox. "I thought they made a mistake." The phrase 'some damage' was putting it lightly. Ramer says Assured Collision totaled his Jeep. "Frame is broken, leaf spring is broken, drive shaft is broken," Ramer said. The itemized bill showed Ramer exactly what he was paying for. Assured Collision charged him $16,000 for an on-scene supervisor. That's $1,250 an hour. The Statewide Towing Association told Fox 25 that the actual industry standard is $175-$325 an hour. The company also claimed that power lines put them at risk, calling it a "hazmat situation." That allowed them to tack on another $5,000 fee for dangerous condition liability insurance. Finally, there was an extra $10,000 fee for an off-road recovery incident response unit. Insurance won't help with the cost of the tow, so Ramer's broke Jeep is in Assured Collision's hands. On top of the enormous bill and busted Jeep, Ramer was arrested and cited for trespassing on land owned by a utility company and disturbing the peace.
