These American classics are becoming harder and harder to find in good condition.  I should know - I looked for a year before purchasing this Wagoneer. I couldn't be happier with it - however my other half isn't so happy.  Thus, I am selling.  I bought this with 100% intention of making this my daily driver and selling my other vehicle.  After a long 'discussion' I conceded and begrudgingly decided to list this for sale.  I took as many pictures as possible and can take more if needed.  I have done the following since owning:

  • State inspection (PA through 5/14)
  • Replaced the left upper and lower ball joints
  • Replaced front brake pads
  • Installed new alternator

The owner prior to me sent me a receipt of the work he had done which included:

  • Install custom carburetor
  • Install valve cover
  • Install sway bar
  • Install power steering gear box
  • Alignment
  • New battery
  • He also installed new leather interior. Extremely nice and comfortable.

Here are the items that I have noticed since owning:

  • All power windows work but if you try to put more than one up at a time, they move slowly.
  • The front door locks when you shut it with any amount of force. Not a huge deal but could result in keys being locked inside!
  • There are silver trim pieces that need placed back on the rear of the Jeep - around the rear window. They are currently in the trunk area and I have yet to reapply.
  • If the car is not started for a few days, it takes a little time.  If it is started daily, it starts right up. Mechanic said that is a typical characteristic of carbureted engines. Need to pump the gas a few times.
  • There are a few dings and chips that I would say are standard with a 24 year old vehicle.

Other than those items, it is a fantastic Jeep.  From the others I looked at over the past year, it is in great shape. I drive it locally almost every day and it drives extremely well. People love to talk about the Jeep when they see it so some trips take longer than they should! Everyone comments on what great shape the Jeep is in.

I am not a car expert or a car 'flipper'. I bought this because it was solid, I love these vehicles and I wanted to make this my daily driver.

Please email me with any questions whatsoever or if you would like more pics.

Thanks

2014 Jeep Cherokee uncovered with bold new look

Fri, 22 Feb 2013

Jeep has been shuttling around Alfa Romeo-based test mules and camouflaged prototypes of its replacement for the current Liberty for some time now. Those heavily disguised vehicles may have offered a glimpse of the new Jeep, but a new set of production-line images from Jalopnik tell a much more complete story.
Jalopnik report indicates unequivocally that the Cherokee name will be re-upped in place of Liberty, though it doesn't spell out exactly where that thinking comes from, though a name change has been rumored for some time. Chances are good that the same source that delivered these factory images delivered the name, as well.
The Cherokee absolutely has some Alfa Romeo DNA in its makeup, the final product is far from looking like its Guilietta ancestor. The athletic, high-waisted design is relatively attractive from what we can see here, though the grille and headlight treatment are sure to cause a lot of ruckus when the Cherokee makes its official debut at the New York Auto Show in April. The very narrow, pointed headlamps are pinched in a not particularly Jeep-ish fashion, and the curved, short version of the seven-slot grille is far more rakish than anything that Jeep has produced to date.

Hackers arrested after stealing more than 30 Jeeps in Texas

Fri, Aug 5 2016

This article has been updated with details on how the thefts were carried out, and with comments from FCA. It seems the news regarding vehicle hacking continues to get worse, especially when it comes to products from Fiat Chrysler Automobiles. Last year, a Jeep Cherokee in St. Louis, Missouri, was wirelessly hacked from Pittsburgh. Nissan had to shut down its Leaf app because of vulnerabilities. Now, a pair of hackers in Houston, Texas, stole more than 30 Jeeps over a six-month period. The two were arrested by police last Friday while attempting to steal another vehicle. ABC 13 in Houston reports that police had been following Michael Arcee and Jesse Zelay for several months but were unable to catch them in the act until now. The two were using a laptop to connect to and start a vehicle. The thieves were able to access Fiat Chrysler's own DealerCONNECT software. After entering the vehicle identification number, the hackers were able to reprogram the cars' security systems to accept a generic key, according to The Houston Chronicle. Additionally, Automotive News reports that FCA subsequently updated the terms of use for its DealerCONNECT program. These thefts were not related to the UConnect remote hacks from last year. It was this footage that first led the police to Arcee and Zelay. The police began to follow and record the pair. That investigation eventually led to Friday's arrest. Both are charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. In addition, Arcee is charged with felon in possession of a weapon and possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance. According to ABC 13, Homeland Security is investigating more than 100 stolen FCA vehicles that they believe were hacked using this method. After their theft, the vehicles were brought across the border to Mexico. FCA is currently conducting an internal investigation into the matter. After this article was posted, the company reached out to Autoblog, stating "FCA US takes the safety and security of its customers seriously and incorporates security features in its vehicles that help to reduce the risk of unauthorized and unlawful access to vehicle systems and wireless communications. FCA US has been cooperating with Houston Police Department since they first started the investigation.

Jeep celebrates with 75th anniversary editions [w/video]

Thu, Jan 7 2016

Jeep is celebrating its 75th anniversary this year. That's one heck of a milestone, and it's celebrating with a special edition. Not just one special edition, either. The all-American off-road brand has wheeled out six – one for each model in its lineup. Though the specifications for each of these 75th Anniversary Edition specials differs from model to model, they each feature an available green paintjob, wheels in a low-gloss bronze finish, orange trim, interiors upholstered in a unique mesh fabric, and (of course) special badges inside and out. They also each feature some manner of open-air aperture, from the fully convertible roof on the Wrangler through the fabric roof panel on the Renegade to the more conventional power sunroofs on the Cherokee, Grand Cherokee, Compass, and Patriot. The shades of green paint depend on the model. The Compass, Patriot, Cherokee, and Grand Cherokee offer Recon Green, the Renegade a brighter Jungle Green, and the Wrangler and Wrangler Unlimited can be had in Sarge Green. If you don't dig the verde approach, you can still order yours up in a different color. The Wrangler special naturally comes the most prepared for off-road duty, packed with rock-crawling equipment like Dana axles with a choice of axle ratios. For more details, you'll want to delve into the press release below, and for a closer look you can scope them out in the accompanying image gallery and video footage. The 75th Anniversary editions are set to hit dealers within the next few months, with prices starting at $22,475 (plus $995 destination) for the Patriot. This content is hosted by a third party.
