I’m often asked where we find these clean, unique vehicles.  One of my best friends cruises parking lots of retirement homes, Elks clubs, the V.F.W. Halls and the back streets of a well-known Scandinavian neighborhood here in north Seattle.  He can spot a seatbelt slammed in a door a mile away…  He’ll notice when a nice old car or truck is driving with a turn signal on just a little too long and he positively twitches with glee when a vehicle with metal bumpers passes by!  If you’re in the market for a great looking, running & driving vintage SUV please give this clean Grand Wagoneer your kind attention.  Feel free to contact me with questions or to discuss a sale before the end of the Ebay auction listing.  My name is Mark Thompson and I can be reached directly at 206/914-1173.

CONDITION:

The photos really tell the Grand Wagoneer’s story.  It has spent most, if not all it’s life here in the Great Pacific Northwest driving our salt-free western Washington roads.  From the photos you’ll see the rig has obviously been well cared for over the years.  We’ve found absolutely NO evidence of any accidents, storm damage, insurance salvage, theft recovery, repossession or any other nasty negatives to cause you concern as the lucky new owner!

I take great pride in our vehicles and feel that you should know as much about them as possible.  Accordingly, here’s a list of the good and also any small things possibly needing attention: The four wheel drive system works just as it should.  With a flip of a switch the drive train goes to full 4x4 mode, so most of the time you’ll be in 2WD and not wearing out the strong Dana front axle components during summertime highway use.  The overall exterior is in very good condition.  This rig wears the original factory gold paint color and has had one decent quality re-spray.  Rust?  Well, this classic Jeep HATES rust and you’d be hard pressed to find ANYTHING to worry about here!  Because we rarely get snow in the Puget Sound Basin, our winter roads are never salted.  The engine compartment is clean.  Climb over, under and throughout - I know you’ll come up smiling!

One turn of the key and the strong 360 CID V8 fires right up with just a few pumps of the gas pedal.  Horsepower has been significantly increased by the addition of an Edelbrock hi-po intake and 650 CFM carburetor.  The MSD Electronic Ignition and Blaster coil have boosted the spark flowing through the oversize silicon wires and custom headers have really reduced exhaust back pressure (it’s always great to be rid of those factory cast iron exhaust manifolds that are ALWAYS cracked, rusty and leaking on these rigs).  Down from the headers a true dual 3-inch Magnaflow Performance exhaust system was recently added.  You'll love the deep hi-po burble it gives the engine at idle!  Needless to say, you WON”T be spending a bunch of money to upgrade or replace the basics on this Wagoneer!  The three-speed automatic transmission shifts smoothly, just like it should, with NO slippage.  Of course, there’s a tilt steering column, power windows, air conditioning and power steering.  Some of the power door locks can be finicky.  I believe every Grand Wagoneer came with power front disk brakes in 1986 and these stop just fine with no pulling or binding.  All four alloy wheels are wrapped with top line Goodyear Wrangler MT/R 33x2.50R15LT Mudder-style radials with plenty of remaining tread.  It really is a blast to drive anywhere you’d wish to go and the six-inch lift provides great ground clearance!

Please take another look at the interior shots.  The upholstery is sound on the both the front leather and fabric panels.  Same goes for the rear bench seat with the exception of a tear on the right side edge.  There are NO cracks in the dash cover.  The headliner is good, with just a little typical board warpage and has NO fabric separation from the backing. The matching original medium brown carpets are in very decent, clean condition.  The rear cargo area and tailgate carpet are new.  All of the door panels have stood the test of time and are in good condition.  You’ll be quite impressed with the dash gauges.  They’re still as clear and bright as the day this rig left the dealership nearly 28 years ago!  All the window glass is great with no cracks or “bull’s-eye” chips.  The original factory cassette/AM-FM radio works great!
If you’re thinking of bidding on a comparable Chevy Suburban or Ford Bronco of similar vintage, you really owe it to yourself to drive and look this unique piece over first!  About the only negatives I can think to point out are: the electric windows can be a bit slow, but all work including the tailgate glass and the A/C doesn’t blow cold (likely just a recharge – the heater is great though).

PLEASE BID WITH CONFIDENCE and know that you are purchasing a unique classic from a respected Ebay seller.  I want you to be happy with your purchase (and with me) and that’s the main goal!   Please don’t be upset by a missed flaw or some unforeseen problem!  No vintage used car or truck is ever perfect.  Having said this, I would not hesitate to drive this truck long distance immediately.

Because of the amount of money involved in buying a vehicle, we require that Ebay members with a feedback history of five or fewer transactions call or email before placing a bid.  If I don’t have this initial contact, your bid may be cancelled.   As I’ve outlined above, the phone number to talk directly to me is 206/914-1173.  Please feel free to call any time during the auction.  My name is MARK THOMPSON.  You’re welcome and encouraged to come by my Auburn, WA warehouse to inspect & drive the Wagoneer.  You might also make an offer as many of my vehicles sell to smart “early birds” that call and work out a deal prior to the auction’s end.  I always reserve the right to sell during this period.

A Few Additional Terms and Conditions:

A nonrefundable $500 deposit is due within 48 hours of the auction’s conclusion.  The balance is due by cash or certified funds within seven business days unless prior arrangements have been made with me.  I can accept PAYPAL, but if you plan to pay any more than the deposit through them I’ll first need to invoice you and ask that you cover the 3.5% fee PayPal charges.  Please remember you are bidding to buy and I fully expect the winning bidder to fulfill their Ebay contract!  You’re not bidding to hold or then come inspect and test-drive the vehicle later -- You’re more than welcome to do this before the auction ends.

If you decide to have the Jeep transported, there are scores of companies to choose from.  I ship vehicles regularly and suggest that you get a transport bid from Dependable Auto Shippers (DAS).  They're EBay’s preferred carrier and will give you a fair quote.  Call my designated rep, Janice, directly at (469)587-5096.  Give her my affiliate number (2362642) and she can pull up all our information for station-to-station or even door-to-door quotes.

As an alternative, you might also get bids from the U-Ship website.  You’ll be able to choose a transport broker from multiple offers.  The zip code for pick-up would be 98002 (Auburn, Washington).  The shipping of the vehicle and company chosen are the responsibility of the BUYER

The Jeep can be stored free of charge at my location for up to two weeks after the auction ends assuming full payment has been received.  After that period storage is $20 per day.  The vehicle is being sold as-is, where-is, with no warranty expressed or implied.  All information described above is based on the observed condition when the listing was placed.  I've done my very best to describe the Grand Wagoneer as honestly as possible and encourage bidders to contact me with questions.

Editors’ Picks December 2022 | Genesis G90, Mazda3 and an old favorite

Mon, Jan 2 2023

The last Editors' Picks collection of 2022 consists of picks from three different segments. We recently got our first shot at the 2023 Genesis G90, which instantly found a warm place in our heart. Plus, a couple of favorites from years past came through. Look out for even more ratings come the new year as a ton of fresh metal comes onto the market. Tons of totally new EVs and sports cars may have hit the streets in 2022, but there are even more new and exciting cars coming. In case you missed our previous Editors' Picks posts, here’s a quick refresher on whatÂ’s going on here. We rate all the new cars we drive with a 1-10 score. Cars that are exemplary in their respective segments get EditorsÂ’ Pick status. Those are the ones weÂ’d recommend to our friends, family and anybody whoÂ’s curious and asks the question. The list that youÂ’ll find below consists of every car we rated in December month that earned an EditorsÂ’ Pick. 2023 Genesis G90 2023 Genesis G90 View 55 Photos Quick take: The Genesis G90 is now a full-size sedan without any major compromises versus its competition. It rides beautifully, features a tech-forward but still usable interior and even has a powerful and refined powertrain. Score: 8.5 What it competes with: Lexus LS 500, BMW 7 Series, Mercedes-Benz S-Class, Audi A8 Pros: Gorgeous design, efficient and powerful powertrain, super-luxurious interior, great value Cons: Doesn't handle as well as competitors From the editors: Road Test Editor Zac Palmer — "The Genesis G90 is all-new for 2023, and what a stupendous luxury sedan it is. The mild-hybrid twin-turbo V6 powertrain is smooth and powerful for effortless acceleration. Its air suspension and electronically controlled dampers waft you over poor pavement with nary a cabin disturbance. Every last luxury you might want for is present from auto-opening doors, massaging seats and rear wheel steering. It's all there for a price that is shockingly low versus the leading German luxury sedans, making it all the more impressive." In-depth analysis: 2023 Genesis G90 First Drive Review: No more compromises   2023 Mazda3 Mazda3 Hatch front three quarter View 57 Photos Quick take: The Mazda3 is a blast to drive and has an interior that rivals entry-level luxury cars. It's only real weakness is a slightly tight rear seat and cargo space.

On this week's podcast, Mike Austin and David Gluckman are in a huddle room (again), because the studio was already taken (again). We talk about the all-wheel-drive Dodge Challenger GT (again), as well as the Jeep Wrangler, Maserati Levante, Miata RF (again), and then David waxes poetic on mediocre rental cars (or similar). The episode wraps up with the traditional doling out of Spend My Money buying advice, with some input from an S2000 owner on advice discussed last time. The rundown is below. Watch the 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Hellcat blast off

Thu, Jan 21 2016

It's all but official. Jeep will produce a Hellcat version of the Grand Cherokee with crazy horsepower. We mean crazy. Today, our spy shooters have captured video footage of this demonic creation. It's pretty short, but you can see a dark Grand Cherokee launch with vigor and then brake hard to a halt. We think we detect the whine of a supercharger amid the commotion. Jeep boss Mike Manley has said on video that the JGC Hellcat will arrive before the end of next year. Specs aren't known, but it seems likely that the Jeep Hellcat will share the blown 6.2-liter V8 used in the Charger and Challenger Hellcats. We've also heard rumors the Trackhawk name could be used for this vehicle. In those applications, the beastly Hemi pumps out 707 manic horsepower. Really, why wouldn't you do this? Jeep sales surged 22 percent around the world last year to 1.2 million, the brand's best year ever. Clearly, Jeep decided it was time to add an extreme performance vehicle. Jeep already sells an SRT model that pumps out 475 hp, so adding a top-end Hellcat seems logical. And a Hell of a lot of fun. Related Video:
