The Jeep runs and drives great, it has no mechanical issues. I rebuilt the carburator, did a tune-up on the engine, rebuilt the alternator and it has a new starter. Jeeps are known for their reliability and since it has only 80k miles on the odometer it can be driven without any worries. The brakes are new, I put in a new brake master cylinder, new lines and new drums. The shocks are also new as well as the rear tires, the ones on the front might need replacing soon.
I bought this as a project and fixed it up mechanically, but it still needs a few things. The floor boards in the rear and gas tank cover need to be replaced. Window moldings are starting to show their age, they should be replaced soon as well. I'm not sure if the 4-wheel drive works, I haven't gotten around to check it, but I will before the auction ends.
It has been repainted before I bought it, looks great from 10 feet away. Some spots have bubbles under the paint, I suspect it's only surface rust, nothing major. The body is straight and looks good all around. It's a great driver Jeep that can be enjoyed as is or it can be easily restored.
The interior is in very good shape, the headliner looks like new. The dash looks great and everything works, lights, radio, fan, wipers, etc. The seats are in great shape too, just the driver's seat has a tear where the stitching is. The driver's door panel has damage to in on the bottom. The power windows work including the one in the rear.

NHTSA investigates FCA for SUVs that roll out of Park

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is opening a preliminary evaluation into the 2014 Dodge Durango and 2014-205 Jeep Grand Cherokee after 14 complaints of the SUVs rolling out of Park. An estimated 408,000 of them could be affected, if a recall is necessary. All of the current complaints submitted to NHTSA about the issue concern the Grand Cherokee, and the claims allege that the SUV can roll out of Park whether or not the engine is running. Some folks report that they check the indicator each time because the gear sometimes fails to engage. Among the 14 cases, there are five accounts of crashes and three injuries, including a situation with someone allegedly being rolled over. NHTSA's preliminary evaluations are meant to investigate "the scope, frequency, and safety-related consequence" of a reported problem. They don't necessarily lead to a recall. Jay Leno rides high in Fab Fours Legend

Jeep showcased some pretty awesome concepts at its Easter Safari in Moab a few days ago, but few if any of them were quite as extreme as what's rolled in to Jay Leno's Garage for this latest video installment. It's called the Legend, and it was made by aftermarket bumper manufacturer Fab Fours to demonstrate its capabilities. It's obviously based on the Jeep Wrangler, but it's riding high on 50-inch tires with a jacked-up monster truck suspension, giant fenders, a chopped-down red-tinted greenhouse and something its creators call a "grumper" that integrates the bumper into the grille. Or vice versa. Though most of the oily bits have carried over from the production model, it's hardly what you'd call "practical," but it's sure to turn a lot of heads... even one as massive as Jay's. 2014 Jeep Cherokee facing production delay

Jeep's bold-faced new direction spearheaded by the 2014 Cherokee is facing some teething issues. According to a report by the Detroit Free Press, production start-up of the controversial new utility vehicle at its Toledo North facility is running about a month behind schedule "due to a wide range of issues." That's according to Mark Chernoby, senior vice president of engineering at Chrysler.
Chernoby maintains that the issues being encountered aren't unusual for the launch of a new vehicle - particularly one with a new powertrain - and he downplayed the delay, telling Jeep dealers that they "will have ample inventory of the midsize SUV by fall." Among the kinks being worked out? Calibrating the Cherokee's cutting-edge ZF nine-speed automatic transmission and refining assembly line tasks to make the process more efficient.
Chrysler expects to start building retail-ready versions of the Cherokee around mid-June, with official sales slated to start in September.
