2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4.0 I6 Automatic 120k miles. Rebuilt transmission done professionally by "Southwest Gear" in El Paso, TX. 4.56 Yukon gears and Aussie lockers installed in front Dana 30 and rear Dana 35 axles, along with ALL new bearings and seals for both axles. All of this was also done professionally by "Southwest Gear" in El Paso, TX. The transmission, lockers, and gears all were installed less than 2k miles ago. Tires were replaced 2-3k miles ago with 265/75/r16 mud tires and the rims are off of a 2010 Wrangler. The jeep has 5.5 inches of lift from Rough Country and the front upper and lower control arms have been upgraded with fully adjustable arms from Rustys Offroad. The stock rezeppa style driveshaft was upgraded with a double cardan joint driveshaft from Tom Woods Driveshafts that is considerably stronger than the stock unit. The jeep also has a roof rack with 4 Hella 500's that ARE wired up and fully functional along with upgraded headlights with HID's installed. Overall this is a very solid jeep that has typical wear and tear and only one sizeable dent on the rear tailgate. New Alpine head unit with USB connection, all speakers have been upgraded and replaced with Alpine speakers as well. The interior is in good condition with no rips or tears anywhere. The bumpers covers were removed due to sun damage, this Jeep is originally from southern Arizona and spent almost its entire life baking in the desert sun. There is only one issue with this jeep as it sits right now. The valve body needs to be replaced, the jeep will not engage into forward driving gears and only engages into reverse. The transmission is in not damaged whatsoever, it will drive all day long in reverse it just will not engage into forward driving gears until the valve body is replaced. A new valve body costs around 300$ and once replaced you have a very solid and mildly built jeep for a fraction of the cost it would be to build it yourself. I just got out of the Army to pursue my education and do not have the time or money to keep this Jeep.  I'm more than willing to answer any further questions you may have, I am full disclosure on this Jeep.

Jeep's Super 'Ute Is Fun Thrown In The Face Of Conventional Wisdom
Let's talk asses for a moment. What do they have to do with the 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT, you ask?
Well, we're here to tell you that this SRT can haul some. Lots of them, as a matter of fact: Jeep has increased the towing capacity of its most powerful SUV to 7,200 pounds. Assuming the average donkey weighs about 400 pounds, the Grand Cherokee SRT can haul ass to the tune of 18 burros, give or take a covered trailer or so, which is significantly more than it could in previous years. In 2013, the machine could manage 5,000 pounds, while the first generation was rated at just 3,500. The increase is mostly attributable to a new eight-speed automatic transmission and beefier rear axle, and it's a welcome update for those who'd like to use their SUV as, well, an SUV with an emphasis on utility.

Marchionne may stay with FCA until 2020

We might get to see Sergio Marchionne and his vast array of sweaters in the auto industry for even longer than expected. The FCA CEO suggested last year that he would retire from the automaker when its current five-year plan was complete in 2018. Now, he has tentatively extended that point out to at least 2020. "I can do this for another five years if you push me, right? Beyond that, I ain't gonna do it, and I don't want to," he said to Automotive News. That would give Marchionne a 16-year career at the top from joining Fiat in 2004 to possibly leaving FCA in 2020. Although, take the CEO's statement with a grain of salt because he has made multiple statements about the timing for his retirement. In 2012, Marchionne said he would only remain in charge until 2015, which is, well, now. Those five years might also go quite quickly because Marchionne is a busy guy with the Ferrari IPO, the attempted merger with General Motors, implementing FCA's five-year plan, and many other projects. He's already considering the next CEO, though. "My purpose in life is to find the Kuniskises of the world, the Manleys, the Biglands, the Palmers," Marchionne said to Automotive News, referencing the heads at Dodge, Jeep, FCA North America, and the company's chief financial officer, respectively. "I told them, 'One of you is going to do what I do one day. I don't know who that is, but one of you is going to do it.'" Final Toledo Jeep decision may have nothing to do with city's efforts

Toledo, OH is doing all that it can to keep production of the Jeep Wrangler in its boundaries, but the biggest issue facing the plant may be insurmountable, no matter how desperately the city wants to keep the Wrangler local. The Wrangler is built in a rather interesting manner at the Toledo Supplier Park: Fiat Chrysler only handles the very final assembly of each vehicle, while two other companies, Kuka, a German firm, and Hyundai-Mobis, a member of the sprawling Hyundai empire, produce the body and chassis, respectively. The vehicles are then transferred over to the FCA part of the park, where they're painted and completed. This was, as The Detroit News explains, a convenient arrangement back in 2006 when the supplier park opened. Chrysler, which was still owned by Daimler at the time, arranged for Kuka and Mobis to handle production, saving it a huge sum of money. Both suppliers own their own machinery and buildings and employ their own workers. Now that FCA is a relatively healthy entity, though, there's not a lot of need to be sharing profits with two other companies. "What [FCA boss Sergio Marchionne] would like is to have the advantages of high-capacity utilization, owning that capacity and taking advantage of that for himself versus having a supplier doing some of the things his competitors do internally," David Cole, chairman emeritus at the Ann Arbor, MI-based Center for Automotive Research, told The News. "It really adds another level of complexity to the situation." While Sergio Marchionne is a man that generally gets what he wants, it seems unlikely that either Mobis or Kuka would give up their role quietly. According to Jon Zapf, Mobis North America's chairperson for UAW Local 12, the company "definitely wants to maintain their part of this production process." According to The News, Jeep is likely to announce the location of next-generation Wrangler production in June. Expect to hear much more on this one in the coming months.
