1972 Jeep Commando Base 4.2l on 2040-cars
Eldred, Pennsylvania, United States
This is a 1972 Jeep Commando with a 258ci inline 6 and a 3 speed manual trans. This thing runs and drives great and the 4 wheel drive works great also. This was a southern vehicle so there isn't much rust and the worst was cut out and replaced with heavy gauge steel. It is Pa. inspected until 9/14 and should pass again with no problem. I have done a lot of work to this Jeep. It has new shocks all around new clutch and cable, new exhaust, brakes, gas tank and line. It was painted with latex house paint when I bought it and we stripped it and painted it with rustoleam(not perfect but it was my first time painting)and the decals are custom. There is a piece of plate steel welded in where the tail gate should be by the previous owner(the plan was to find a tail gate and replace the plate with it just haven't found one yet). The hard top is removable like the CJ's and wrangler and there is a roll bar. These Jeeps are rare they were only made with the Bull nose for 2yrs.There is a parts vehicle no body parts but there is an auto trans, transfer case, axles, springs,Power steering gear box and pump. Now with all that said I know that these Jeeps are rare and I know what they are going for But I don't think mine is made of gold and I know it is not perfect And I have set my reserve accordingly. I do still drive this so the mileage will go up.The last time I listed a vehicle on here the buyer backed out with out even coming to look at it so there will be a non refundable deposit of $500.00 with in 48 hours and balance with in 7 days so please check my location before you bid

FCA recalls 570,000 SUVs from Jeep and Dodge over fire woes
Sun, Dec 27 2015Fiat Chrysler US has issued two recalls covering a total of about 570,000 Jeep and Dodge models. The first concerns vanity mirror wiring in the Jeep Grand Cherokee from the 2011 and 2012 model years, and in Dodge Durango units built before September 12, 2012. The automaker recalled almost 900,000 units last year to repair the issue, then faced more issues this year when the fires continued in repaired vehicles. This new recall seeks to resolve the issue, FCA saying that the post-recall fires happened in a tiny percentage of vehicles equipped with a specific wiring package. This recall is for 352,831 total units in the US, another 26,478 in Canada, 13,037 in Mexico, and 84,330 internationally. No injuries or deaths have been reported. FCA says it will inform customers as to when they can schedule a service visit to remedy the issue. The second recall takes aim at 60,107 examples of the Jeep Compass and Patriot from the 2015 model year in the US, plus 5,755 in Canada, 3,351 in Mexico, and 23,995 in other markets. Those models could suffer from an out-of-position clamp on the power steering fluid line. The error could allow fluid to leak, increasing the risk of a fire if the fluid ends up on a hot surface. In the case of a complete loss of fluid, drivers will need to use a lot more effort to steer. The automaker reports no injuries or accidents, and will advise customers when to head to the dealer for service. Post-service overheating conditions were observed only in vehicles equipped with a certain wiring package. These vehicles were produced before Sept. 2, 2012.Affected are model-year 2011-2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee and Dodge Durango SUVs produced before Sept. 2, 2012. Wiring in the headliners of these vehicles will be secured with a new adhesive.
This Jeep Forward Control is incredibly clean, for sale
Fri, Jun 10 2016Jeep loves going all out on its Moab Easter Safari concept cars. This year was no exception; aside from an insane 707-horsepower Wrangler, the plucky little FC-150 was the star of the show. Of course, it was artfully restored and given plenty of love before the annual, off-road adventure. Sadly, you can't buy a brand new FC-150 from Jeep anymore, or even any sort of pickup truck for that matter. No, the last time you were able to buy an FC-150 was way back when in 1965. Thankfully, at least one dealer recognized the heritage of this stunning little machine, and has listed a pristine example for sale on eBay for sale on eBay. This one was built in 1958, and only 11,595 miles read on the odometer. That's insanely low for a car this old and this rare. The President Red and Plantation white exterior looks straight from the factory, as do the wheels and tires. Though, you have to imagine that most everything on this car has been restored considerably given the lifespan, even without the dealer outright saying it. Four-wheel drive and a four-speed manual gearbox come standard; there's even a spare tire in case things go wrong on the trail. The cherry on top being the stunningly clean, no-nonsense interior. It's about as factory fresh one might get in a 60-year old Jeep. With a current bid of $14,600 (per this writing), it's not even that expensive. If you're looking to snag a handsome piece of Jeep history, look no further than this. But hurry, there are only a few hours left to bid.
