I am the original owner of this 1988 Jeep Comanche, which I bought in January, 1988 in Manassas, VA. The truck has been in Arizona since August, 2001. The truck is a 4WD, long bed (7 feet) and was delivered in the Pioneer trim with optional extra capacity fuel tank (23.5 gal). The vehicle has the 4.0 liter, 6 cylinder engine with automatic transmission on the steering column. Other features include cruise control, tilt steering wheel, power steering, tow hooks, heavy duty cooling, sliding rear window, dual low profile towing mirrors, cargo area light, front fog lamps, leather wrapped steering wheel, cargo bed side rails and five 10 spoke sport aluminum wheels (powder paint coated grey). In 1999 the rear end was upgraded to limited slip along with heavy duty springs for heavier payloads. The vehicle was repainted its original black in the Fall of 2010. The truck bed is coated with Line-X bed liner. The bench seat was re-upholstered with leather about two years ago. An electric trailer brake control compliments the Class III hitch. At 114,710 miles, the interior gauge set was upgraded to the “Laredo” type to include voltmeter, oil pressure gauge, engine temperature, trip odometer, and tachometer. An odometer replacement sticker is on the glovebox door. The original radio, which would no longer power on, was replaced by a JVC Model KD-AR560. This radio has a removable face plate, CD slot and is Sirius ready. The Sirius converter box is not activated. A Flowmaster Series 50 Delta Flow muffler, which sounds good without being too loud, was installed in August, 2010. The tires, BF Goodrich T/A Radial, P245/60R15, were installed at 139,500 miles in January, 2013. A Chrysler certified rebuilt steering box was installed in April, 2014.

This well maintained truck was used occasionally to move a horse trailer locally, pick up hay and general everyday trips around town. The truck has not been used commercially and I estimate 95% of its 143,000 miles are without any type load at all. A major service was done at 140,500 miles in July, 2013. This vehicle’s original sticker price was $15,000; the current NADA high retail for this vehicle is $8,500. The vehicle is being offered at $7,000.

Fiat Chrysler to test automatically switching hybrid cars to electric mode in Turin

MILAN — Fiat Chrysler is piloting a project in its historic Italian home of Turin to allow its hybrid plug-in cars to automatically switch to electric-only mode when entering congested city centers. The project, which aims to maximize the environmental benefits of hybrid cars, comes as Fiat Chrysler (FCA) rolls out its first alternative-engine models, trying to make up ground on rivals which already offer a range of full electric and hybrid vehicles in Europe. The project, named 'Turin Geofencing Lab' and involving the city authorities and public transport agency GTT, is based on a prototype system with fully integrated on-board sensors allowing a car to recognize when it is entering a restricted traffic zone, FCA said on Wednesday. The sensors will then automatically turn off the combustion engine and switch to electric mode. This would allow hybrid cars to enjoy dispensations for electric vehicles in the city center, including dedicated parking spaces. The system has been initially tested on the new Jeep Renegade 4xe hybrid plug-in model. The tests could be extended to the group's other hybrid models from next year. The COVID-19 crisis has not significantly delayed FCA's plans to launch its first full-electric and hybrid models. An electric version of the Fiat 500 small car and plug-in hybrid versions of Jeep's Renegade and Compass models are due to hit the market this summer. A similar project was launched last year by German carmaker BMW and Rotterdam, with a smart-phone reminder to switch-off combustion engines when passing a virtual boundary into the Dutch city's "electric-only zone." But that did not entail such a direct link between the vehicle and the city's access platform and gates to restricted traffic zones, as in Turin's case. 2018 Jeep Wrangler spied looking more aerodynamic

We're getting an early look at one of the most anticipated vehicles from Jeep: the next-generation Wrangler. We expect it to arrive for the 2018 model year and be aluminum-intensive for purposes of weight savings, which will improve fuel economy. The platform is expected to remain a traditional body-on-frame setup, and manufacturing will remain at its longtime Toledo, OH, factory. The design appears true to the Wrangler's heritage, though the windshield is raked back more to make it less brick-like when cutting through the air. From some angles, the front end appears longer if you squint properly, and the front fenders seem wider and squatter than the current model's. There's probably more in store for the new Jeep, but this prototype is under such heavy cladding it's impossible to tell what. Kudos to the folks who make those vinyl coverings. Look for the powertrain to again include a Pentastar V6, this time paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission – again for fuel economy, but also to improve the powertrain's flexibility. A V6 turbo diesel and a mild- hybrid variant are also expected. Even with all these departures from the long-running Wrangler playbook, the off-road capability will remain the vehicle's calling card. The current Wrangler will also be built concurrently with this next-gen model for a time in Toledo, Automotive News reports, giving enthusiasts and traditionalists the best of both worlds. Jeep will also add a pickup based on the Wrangler's underpinnings to its portfolio in a move to capitalize on the resurgence of smaller trucks. The Wrangler is both the halo and centerpiece of the remade Jeep lineup, which quickly is becoming one of Fiat Chrysler's pillars for sales and prestige around the world.
