Marchionne uses racial epithet to describe what must power future Alfa Romeo models

Sergio Marchionne and his Fiat empire have a lot riding on the US return of the Alfa Romeo brand. The endeavor has been in progress for what feels like a lifetime - certainly for as long as Fiat has had the Chrysler brand under its Italian wing.
It's not surprising that Fiat CEO Marchionne needs a perfect first Alfa to mark a return to America. And here's where things get dicey. Nobody would argue with Marchionne's insistence that Alfa Romeo's be powered by Italian engines - as Marchionne himself is quoted to have said at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show, "There are some things that are well done in Italy."
If not what he said, then, it's how he said it that has eyebrows raised. "I cannot come up with a schlock product, I just won't. I won't put an American engine into that car. With all due respect to my American friends, it needs to be a wop engine." Wait, what's that?

Jeep Yuntu three-row crossover spied testing on public roads

Jeep is doing very well, especially compared to most other FCA brands. Still, there's a three-row sized hole in the automaker's lineup. In April 2017, the Jeep Yuntu made its debut at the Shanghai Auto Show. While that plug-in hybrid was just a concept, we now have a second set of spy shots showing that a road-going Yuntu is deep into development. Even with the black and white camouflage, there's no mistaking this for anything other than a Jeep. The new model looks like a larger Grand Cherokee with styling elements cribbed from the new Compass and refreshed Cherokee, though the profile unsurprisingly reminds us of the Dodge Durango (essentially a three-row Grand Cherokee). The thin headlights and taillights have made it over from the concept, though both are toned down for the production version. A three-row Jeep is all but officially confirmed for the US. The real question is what it will be called. We doubt Americans will fall head over heels for a American vehicle named the Yuntu. Reviving the Wagoneer or Grand Wagoneer nameplates seems far more likely. We can only speculate on powertrains, but considering the Yuntu concept was a plug-in hybrid, expect some flavor of electrification. Related Video: This content is hosted by a third party. 2020 Jeep Gladiator has lots of Mopar parts ready for launch

The 2020 Jeep Gladiator is here, and we've only had to wait a day to see how you can modify it with official Mopar parts. Some of the parts that will be available were already fitted to one of the Gladiators on the floor at the L.A. Auto Show. Jeep Wrangler owners aren't shy at modifying their beasts, and we can probably expect the same amount of enthusiasm from those who own the Gladiator as well. Many of the Mopar parts will be available right as the Gladiator goes on sale. Let's hope the best ones, like the 2-inch lift kit, rock rails and tube doors, make it there for launch. The steel tube doors sure give the Gladiator more character than other trucks on the market. Off-road LED lights, winch-capable steel bumpers and 17-inch beadlock-capable wheels should enhance its off-roading capability. Different storage solutions are also included in the available parts like bed-mounted cross rails, ramps, roof rack/carriers and tonneau covers. If you wanted your Jeep truck to look different from the rest, Mopar is offering side graphics, hood graphics and Katzkin leather seats. A cold air intake and Mopar catback exhaust are the only two power modifications available at the moment. Jeep claims they add power and torque but don't give any figures.
