Nice Restored 1975 Jeep Cj5 4x4 With Upgrades on 2040-cars
Rifle, Colorado, United States
Well I hate to do this but I need to sell my 75 CJ5. I built this from the ground up in 2010. No short cuts were taken and tried to keep the original look with upgraded parts all throughout. I have a lot of receipts for this jeep with well over 20000 in it. Here's the goodies Chevy Dana 44 front axle narrowed to CJ7 width Parts Mikes heavy duty inner c knuckles Moser chromoly axle shafts ARB air locker 5:38 Richmond ring and pinion Warn premium hubs 5 lug Ford conversion New ball joints, studs, bearings and brakes Hi steer arms PSC hydraulic assist steering ram Parts Mike Crossover steering linkage Scout II Dana 44 rear Moser chromoly shafts ARB air locker 5:38 Richmond ring and pinion Disc brake conversion New bearings, seals, studs and brakes Mountain off road traction or anti wrap bar Balanced and blueprinted Buick 225 V6 HEI distributor Howell fuel injection Live wires Navajo brake booster PSC hydraulic assist steering No used accessories were used on motor T18 4 speed with 6.73:1 first gear ratio Center force II clutch Parts Mike hydraulic clutch kit Shackle reversal spring over suspension with reverse eye rubicon express springs Drive train industries drive shafts Mickey Thompson Classic II wheels 37" irok tires Rancho 5000 shocks Advanced adapters headers with dual exhaust New 15 gal gas tank in rear Tube bumpers front and rear Bully Dog 9000 lb winch on front Warn fender flares Bestop full top Mastercraft seats front and rear Bestop half doors and bikini top LineX bed liner under body, in tub and engine compartment Body started out rust free and straight Powder coat primer on fenders and hood Grill dash and windshield frame is powder coated black. Smittybuilt full roll cage New Glass, wiper motor, switches, mirrors, body mounts, stainless steel fasteners ect ect. Everything on this jeep is new or been rebuilt when it was built in 2010. Some parts were extremely difficult to find but I did find them. All the spare parts I have go with the jeep The bad part is that last winter the jeep rolled out of my driveway and hit my neighbors truck so that is where the dent in the drivers rear corner came from. I took it to a local body shop and he said 500 dollars to fix it. I was going to fix myself but just don't have the time to mess with it. There are a few minor oil leaks mainly from the transfer case and transmission. There are some scratches in clearcoat from going through the brush. I will try and buff them out before delivery. The fuel injection is not 100% dialed in but runs good. I have several other proms you can try and if you just send them back to howell they will burn you a new prom for free. Other than that this jeep is solid with no squeaks or rattles or issues when driving. Handles great on the highway. I can run 65 down the interstate and it drives straight without wandering all over the road. I am sure I missed some things so if you have questions please feel free to ask. I don't really use this jeep very often and has maybe 25,000 miles on it since the build. Mainly use it for hunting and running around town. The tires are worn down from driving on pavement but they are still descent shape. |

A hybrid Jeep Wrangler could be in the cards for new generation
Fri, Jan 13 2017Jeep could make a hybrid version of its iconic off-roader, the Wrangler, the head of the Jeep brand suggested in an interview with Autoblog. Speaking this week on the floor of the Detroit Auto Show, Jeep's global chief Mike Manley said "the hybridization could actually help Wrangler," noting it could improve torque distribution, a critical element for four-wheel drive vehicles. Manley added, "Electrification, absolutely. I could see Wrangler being a form of electric." The Jeep boss didn't offer further details, though a hybrid Wrangler has been rumored for years. The next-generation off-roader is due for the 2018 model year, which means a reveal is imminent. Hybrid technology would likely be used to assist the Wrangler's performance and efficiency, rather than as a total fuel-economy play. The next-gen Wrangler is expected to have LED lights, updated and more aerodynamic design, and greater use of aluminum. A turbo four-cylinder gasoline engine, a diesel engine, and an eight-speed automatic transmission are also among the powertrain rumors, though the diesel may be in jeopardy after the EPA accused FCA US of installing emission-control software on its EcoDiesels. Despite the changes, this new Jeep will be instantly recognizable as a Wrangler, Manley told us. "It's the icon of our brand." View 30 Photos Also heartening for enthusiasts, the Wrangler is getting a pickup variant built alongside the utility vehicle in Toledo, OH. Manley wouldn't speculate on a name, though it has a long list of historic choices. Jeep used "Comanche" on a Cherokee-based pickup from 1986-92 and had the Gladiator/J-Series for a larger truck from 1963-87. "Of course we could go back to one of the record books [for a name]," Manley said. Meanwhile, Jeep also confirmed that the Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer models will return to its lineup in 2020, slotting above the Grand Cherokee and giving Jeep an entry in the upper luxury SUV segment. Manley said the Wagoneers will compete in the $60,000-to-$100,000 price range. They will be based on a body-on-frame platform sourced from the Ram and built in Warren, MI. "Ever since I've been associated with Jeep, in my mind, they needed to come back to the portfolio," Manley said. Jeep's other spotlight vehicle, the Grand Cherokee, will get a new generation launching in 2019, Manley said. Though the current line has been on sale since 2010, Jeep has added interior updates and special variants to keep it fresh.
GMC wants to target Jeep with compact crossover
Mon, Dec 14 2015GMC execs might consider adding a Jeep competitor to the range, but rather than new rumors of a Wrangler-fighter, this time the Professional Grade brand could go after the Renegade. Division boss Duncan Aldred would like to broaden the brand's lineup with a subcompact crossover. "I keep telling everyone, 'How can General Motors' truck brand not be in the fastest-growing segment in the industry, an SUV segment," he said to Automotive News but wouldn't confirm whether the model was under development. General Motors already offers small crossovers like the Chevrolet Trax and Buick Encore, but the CUV segment in general continues to drive auto sales in the US. Adding a similarly sized GMC to the mix might increase the automaker's volume by appealing to different customers. "A GMC buyer is very different from a Buick buyer. This is like comparing the Fiat 500X to the Jeep Renegade. They are very similar but appeal to different people," Dave Sullivan, Product Analysis Manager at AutoPacific, told Autoblog. Aldred started the speculation about a Wrangler-fighting model in an interview in late 2014, and the company reportedly even raised the idea of an offroad-focused vehicle to dealers to see how they reacted. The development process was only in the very early planning stages, but the brand considered using Hummer for a little of the new product's inspiration. Aldred later suggested to journalists the possibility of adding a compact or midsize SUV to the GMC range in the next 10 years to appeal to more buyers. He didn't comment directly on the possibility of the Wrangler-challenger at the time beyond saying: "I can't confirm that ... everything's on the table." Related Video:
2015 Jeep Renegade to start at $17,995, Trailhawk rings up at $25,995
Thu, Jan 22 2015Prices for the 2015 Jeep Renegade have leaked onto a enthusiast forum ahead of the official embargo on pricing and driving impressions, which breaks at 12:01 AM Friday. They come from a video interview with Jeep CEO Mike Manley, that was allegedly set live accidentally. It's since been pulled down. At this point, it's unclear if the listed prices include any destination charges, so they could climb slightly higher or lower. In its most basic form, the two-wheel-drive Renegade Sport will go on sale for just $17,995. For that price, you get, um, not a lot. Really. The entry level Renegade doesn't even offer standard air conditioning – it's part of a package that includes heated power mirrors and cruise control. The $21,295 Latitude adds a leather-wrapped steering wheel, standard 16-inch wheels, air conditioning, five-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Bluetooth, a six-speaker stereo and USB connectivity. The top-end Renegade Limited, meanwhile, starts at $24,795 and makes standard items of the heated, powered leather seats, dual-zone climate control, seven-inch TFT display in the instrument cluster, auto-dimming mirror and 18-inch wheels. The Limited also adds a number of aesthetic tweaks that spruce up the Renegade's exterior, including brightwork around the grille, mirror caps, taillights and roof rails. The above prices, of course, are only for the front-drive Renegade. Add $2,000 to the above prices for all-wheel drive. You won't need to add that to the all-wheel-drive-only Trailhawk, which starts at $25,995 and comes with a slew of off-road features, including a bespoke front and rear fascia, with the former sporting the world's most adorable pair of red tow hooks. Mechanically, there's an exclusive version of the brand's Active Drive all-wheel-drive system that includes a 20-to-one crawl ratio and a dedicated Rock mode for the Selec-Terrain system and 17-inch wheels. The cabin, meanwhile, is home to Ruby Red accents. While we have basic trim prices, we're still without more specific details, including the cost of marquee options like the My Sky roof, as well as the plethora of options packages that will be available when the CUV arrives in dealers. We'll have our full review of the all-new Renegade available when the embargo on driving impressions breaks Friday. In the meantime, let us know what you think of these prices. Are they where you expected them to be? Higher? Lower? Have your say in Comments. Related Video:
