Todays auction is for a super super low mileage Renegade Jeep CJ-7. This truck had the full sticker package on it prior to the repaint, but it looks so clean without the decals we decided not to put them back on the truck. This was a one owner Jeep when I purchased it in 2006. It had low mileage as most of my Jeeps do; it had 56k on it when I bought it.  Currently with a little under 69k this is one of the finest examples you will find anywhere. And as far as rust, there isn’t any, bring a magnet. This is no Fiberglass body sitting on a CJ frame and called a restoration, it’s all original. I can show you the two previous rust repair areas that were professionally repaired. After the repairs were made the Jeep was painted with paint to match the factory copper brown metallic. This is NOT a low quality paint job, this Jeep was painted with top of the line Glasurit paint. There is four coats base and three coats clear, which is a much better paint job than it had when it rolled out of the factory. So if you are looking for a truck to take in the woods this might not be the one, there are plenty of them listed on here with a Maaco paintjob. This again is NOT one of them. The chrome grill is original but the front bumper was replaced with a stainless bumper. All the hinges, mirrors and vent cover were replaced with stainless also, No rust ever. The rear bumperettes are original also.  And yes all the wheels are the original wheels. The top and doors are the Bestop brand and are known to be the best replacement that money can buy.
Now onto the interior, it’s all original as it was when it was new. The seats are in excellent condition for a 30 year old Jeep. They are consistent for a Jeep with 69k on it. The carpet is the original carpet also, if you watch my other Jeep auctions you will know I am very big on everything being original. I am just kind of picky in that way. This jeep has never had a radio mounted in it. It’s a Jeep thing some don’t understand. If they ever drove a CJ with a factory radio they would. If I was in a position to keep this Jeep I would but with selling my business I am losing all my storage space and need to limit my collection. I have a 1986 Final edition that I will be keeping.
The mechanicals are they should be, but I did just put in a brand new clutch kit. This Jeep no matter how hot or cold you walk out pump the gas twice turn the key and listen to this baby purr. If a CJ was a very comfortable driving vehicle I would jump in it and drive it to the west coast tomorrow, but I have Grand Wagoneers for that. Yes I said Grand Wagoneers not the new cheap plastic Grand Cherokees. If you want a Jeep you can buy today and sell in ten years and make money this is the one, not that new one you are looking at. I am a proud Jeep owner and the newest one I own is a 1991, and there is a reason for that. Real Jeeps were discontinued when AMC sold the Jeep name to The Chrysler Corporation. At least they continued the AMC tradition with the Grand Wagoneer until 1991. I have an autocheck  report on this Jeep if you would like a copy send me your email address an I will email it to you. These Jeeps typically score 16-39 on the autocheck score but this one is a 42.
OK now for the must list part. There is a 1000 dollar deposit due within 24 hours of auctions end to be made through PayPal. If you make arrangements to wire the funds then deposit can be made at same time.  These auctions are very expensive so please if you need to ask permission to bid do so first and not after auction has ended. Please have financing arranged before bidding. Final payment is due within 7 days.  I will be posting interior pictures on Tuesday. Again the paint on this Jeep is amazing and everyone just says Wow when they see it, this is a Jeep that anyone would be proud to own. This is not a Jeep that has been wheeled and restored this is a nice garage kept Jeep that deserves a good home. The spare tire carrier was still in paint when pictures were taken and will be on Jeep when picked up.

Radical 2016 Jeep Wrangler suggested by job listings?

Fri, 31 May 2013

With most inside the industry expecting the next-generation Jeep Wrangler to arrive for the 2016 model year, it makes sense that the automaker would be looking for some choice candidates to to fill program openings as the off-roader goes through its development. A recent ad on Chryslercareers.com suggests to some that the lightweight Wrangler Stitch Concept, revealed just two months ago and shown above, provides some clues about the off-road icon's next iteration.
According to Automotive News, the job descriptions - which don't name the model specifically - hint that the next-generation Wrangler will benefit from a serious diet. The ads appear to seek those familiar with advanced high-strength steels, hinting that lightweight aluminum body panels may appear on the 4x4. In addition, there are suggestions that Jeep may fit the Wrangler replacement with air suspension, as seen on the Ram and Grand Cherokee, to retain ample off-road clearance yet lower that chassis to improve aerodynamics at highway speeds. The job postings reportedly also lend credence to the idea of a diesel Wrangler.
It seems every bit of the next-generation Wrangler is up for review, as it will be the first time this iconic model is redesigned under Fiat ownership. Questions remain whether or not the Jeep will retain its clip-down hood, easy-to-remove door pins and folding front windshield - loyalists expect them, but fuel economy and safety standards may crimp their cases for survival.

Build your own: 2017 Jeep Wrangler Willys Wheeler

Tue, May 30 2017

While still three weeks from the start of summer, it arrived in practical terms with the Memorial Day weekend. And while the country will have worked through its collective hangover (from too much food, drink and shopping) and gotten back to work, it's worth remembering what – automotively – got us here, preserving both democracy and personal freedoms. The CJ-inspired Jeep Wrangler got us here, and in its Willys Wheeler guise the spirit of America rolls on. As the many spy pics have shown, FCA's Jeep division is working hard to replace its current Wrangler within the next few months. With that, we say goodbye to 10 model years of Wrangling with the current model. And that decade has been a good one for Jeep. Despite the economic downturn between 2008 and 2010, Jeep and Jeep Wrangler sales have been consistent bright spots for FCA, along with – of course – Ram trucks and, uh, Ram trucks. With a new Wrangler around the bend, it's worth taking a look at the existing model. And knowing an all-new example is coming, what would be the reason – if shopping – to consider what's on dealer lots now? Despite the numerous areas of improvement the new model will deliver (in efficiency, refinement and safety) , there's something to be said for a vehicle 10 years into its production cycle. While this is wholly anecdotal, for every step forward a manufacturer makes with a new vehicle, the added tech and necessary complexity seem to mandate two steps back. In an Audi A4, tech would seem a good thing, while in a Wrangler, this Jeep enthusiast would see it as a mixed blessing. Almost 80 years into its evolution (the initial Jeep concept came together in the summer of 1940) little has changed in the Jeep's essential mission. A body-on-frame architecture transports a driver and up to three passengers over paved and unpaved surfaces with credible confidence and a modicum of security. Live axles front and rear enhance the Wrangler's off-road capability, but compromise its on-road behavior. And while a significantly wider track mitigates rollovers, the Wrangler is decades removed from "state-of-the-art" when discussing safety or handling. Currently there's but one engine available in the States, a 3.6 liter normally-aspirated V6 producing 285 horsepower at a you'll-rarely-get-there 6,400 rpm. Connected to either a six-speed manual or ($1,400) five-speed automatic, the engine moves the 4,000-pound (loaded) Wrangler with measured confidence.

2014 Jeep Cherokee: Introduction

Tue, 27 May 2014

When we look back at some of the more shocking product launches of recent yeras, the Jeep Cherokee is certainly high up on the list. And we aren't just talking about its off-the-wall, polarizing design.
For starters, it brought back the iconic Cherokee nameplate - something Jeep enthusiasts have coveted for ages. But beyond that, it brought a new evolution for the Jeep brand. After all, the Cherokee is car-based - using the same compact platform that underpins the Dodge Dart and Chrysler 200. It has a greater focus on technology and refinement than ever before, in an effort to appeal to a new crop of Jeep customers. And powering it all is a new (optional) V6 engine paired with an equally new nine-speed automatic transmission.
Can the Cherokee's car-based roots still allow for a vehicle that's superb when the going gets tough? Will its design still be a love/hate affair in one year's time, or will it start to blend in? Is the powertrain strong enough to not only support the needs of daily driving and road trips, but blaze a few trails as well? We're aiming to answer all these questions, and more, over the next 12 months. Welcome to the Autoblog long-term garage, Cherokee.
