I am torn between selling this Jeep and keeping it.  It truly is an excellent running, smooth driving, gorgeous piece of classic American Motors Corp made machinery.  This is the type of Jeep that you can do anything you want in.  If you want to take it off-road, go ahead.  If you want to turn heads rolling down the highway, you can do that too.  This is that type of Jeep.  Now, if you're looking for a completely original, factory fresh AMC CJ-7 Laredo, look elsewhere.  Why? Simple.  This Jeep shows like an original Jeep Laredo, which it is, however has many upgrades that separate it from the others.  It IS a true 1985 CJ-7 Laredo complete with a working tachometer and clock. Also, has a gorgeous set of silver-grey Laredo Stripes completely contrasting the mirror-like red beautiful paint. Where it is different is in the interior, suspension, engine, and off-road accessories.

A few brief notes on this Jeep:  I bought this Jeep from Texas where, I believe, it spent most, if not all of it's life.  It has a fully Rhino-Lined interior, has after-market seats, no dash-pad, and a highly powered JVC stereo with Polk Audio front speakers and Boss rear built-in speakers made specifically for CJ7s.  It has AMC factory air-conditioning which works great!  This Jeep has Rancho Shocks, a small and subtle shackle lift and sits on 31" BFG Mud-Terrain tires on 15" after-market wheels that look like factory Jeep rims. The tires have a lot of life left.  The transmission is a Jeep T-18 4-Speed trans.  If you are familiar with the T-18, it has a very low 1st gear extremely useful for off-roading, if you chose.  If normal street driving, you would start in 2nd gear.  I never once had this Jeep off-road. It also has a twin stick shifter for 2WD and 4WD High and Low Shifting.  All 4WD and 2WD work.  The engine has an awesome upgraded Clifford Intake, a Holley 4 Barrel carburetor, and an Edelbrock air-cleaner.  The bumpers on this Jeep are custom.  A Pro-9000lb Ramsey winch sits on the front of the Jeep and has a remote. The rear swing-away bumper is custom also and capable of housing a larger tire.

Please look closely at the pictures and feel free to ask as many questions as you wish.  I could go on and on about it, but truth be told, most people want to see good pics.  If you live close-by, I invite you to drive it.  If you're a distant bidder, I want you to know what you're bidding on.  I have every receipt on the work that I have done to it over the last 2+ years. My father was in the automobile business for over 40+ years before he passed.  I learned how to take care of a car from him.  I took care of this Jeep.  If you want to talk about it in person, please contact me at 610-322-8702. Thanks very much and good luck! Lee

Marchionne may stay with FCA until 2020

Mon, Aug 31 2015

We might get to see Sergio Marchionne and his vast array of sweaters in the auto industry for even longer than expected. The FCA CEO suggested last year that he would retire from the automaker when its current five-year plan was complete in 2018. Now, he has tentatively extended that point out to at least 2020. "I can do this for another five years if you push me, right? Beyond that, I ain't gonna do it, and I don't want to," he said to Automotive News. That would give Marchionne a 16-year career at the top from joining Fiat in 2004 to possibly leaving FCA in 2020. Although, take the CEO's statement with a grain of salt because he has made multiple statements about the timing for his retirement. In 2012, Marchionne said he would only remain in charge until 2015, which is, well, now. Those five years might also go quite quickly because Marchionne is a busy guy with the Ferrari IPO, the attempted merger with General Motors, implementing FCA's five-year plan, and many other projects. He's already considering the next CEO, though. "My purpose in life is to find the Kuniskises of the world, the Manleys, the Biglands, the Palmers," Marchionne said to Automotive News, referencing the heads at Dodge, Jeep, FCA North America, and the company's chief financial officer, respectively. "I told them, 'One of you is going to do what I do one day. I don't know who that is, but one of you is going to do it.'" 2019 Jeep Cherokee reveals a much more normal face

Tue, Oct 17 2017

Since we started seeing redesigned Jeep Cherokee prototypes, we've suspected that the crossover would lose its controversial split headlights and pointy grille. Finally, we get a good look at a mostly uncovered test car, and it confirms that the new Cherokee will look quite conventional. The obvious change is the headlights. Instead of the slender daytime running lights at the top next to the grille, and the actual illuminating headlights lower in the bumper, all of the elements are integrated into single housings on either side. They're somewhat rectangular now, looking more like those on the Compass and the Grand Cherokee. But you can still see the same hockey-stick shaped LED running light design in the new lamps. The grille has changed, too. It looks much more blunt than the sharply creased, almost pointy grille of the current model. It also looks as though it may extend farther down than the current version. The rest of the Cherokee is very similar to the current model. The flanks are virtually unchanged, as is the interior, and the tail sees only minor changes. The most significant is the move of the license plate from the bumper to the hatch. The taillights' shape hasn't really changed, but the white section is now broken up by black lines, and the red element looks darker. We expect to see the Cherokee refresh soon, possibly by the end of the year. Related Video:
