1984 Jeep Cj7 Renegade V-8 New Motor 118k Orig Miles. Arizona Rust Free on 2040-cars
Phoenix, Arizona, United States
|
For Sale is this Very Nice 1984 CJ7 Renegade. 118k original miles. Has a clean and clear Arizona title. The title is an “A” title. For you non Arizonians this means it is documented and original. I purchased this jeep in southern California. The previous owner put a NEW 304 V-8 with a very healthy RV cam, has a full folder of receipts. She has dual exhaust with flowmaster mufflers and sounds mean. (There is a video on my website) The 304 has between 8-10k miles and runs extremely strong and is very lopey at idle. The auto trans has been flushed and shift great, followed up with a Dana 300 transfercase. There is a 4” Superlift lift kit with Doetch Tech shocks, BRAND NEW 33x12.50x15 BFG all terrains (5) less than 300 miles. I pulled out of my personal stash 5 correct Jeep wagon wheel with center caps and new lug nuts. The tub is 100% rust free and strait and still wears it original Sun Yellow paint, so there are no surprises. I put a NEW repro (not junk yard) hood on it. The original is avail but dented due to a tree branch. There is also an aftermarket steering box and steering shaft. NEW CD player and dash speakers. NEW dash pad and temp and oil pressure gauges. The V8 has great oil pressure, 70lbs at start and runs 20-40 when hot. There is a new radiator and no overheating issues. It runs 190deg in phoenix when it was 114 deg outside. The interior is basic with two highback seats and a Tuffy console (no back seat) and a full roll cage that obviously needs paint (it had the old school pipe foam and electrical tape on it.. YUK!! so I removed it) There is no top other than the bikini top. This jeep runs awesome, has plenty of power and drives strait and true at 70 MPH and sounds BAD ASS!!!! This is a pre-paint sale. I am up to my eyeballs with work. I have already purchased 1 gallon of Sun Yellow paint that is included in the deal. OH it also has a TOW bar and winch mount and is wired to the front for towing. So who knows how many of the few miles it has was being towed? I am asking $7500.00 This jeep is worth it! If it does not sell I will strip it and paint it with NEW Renegade stripes. After that I will sell it for much more. I restore Jeeps and Willys for a living/Hobby/Obsession. I REALLY love this CJ and have been driving it and cruising around in the desert with it. However I am up to my eyeballs right now and I have purchased a Willys project that I need to put the funds into. Sooooo I must let her go. Sad but true....This is a SOLID Jeep with a very healthy motor. I have shipped all over the country. Shipping is up to the buyer, please quote from 85027. I will deliver the Jeep to any shipping company in the valley at no charge to the buyer. I require a 250.00 non-refundable deposit within 24hrs of close of auction. I will accept Pay-Pal for this part ONLY. The remainder of the money is due within 72 hours of the close of auction. I will ONLY take a Bank Check, Money Order, or I have a transfer account at Wells Fargo set up just for this purpose. This is the easiest and fastest way to handle the transaction. After the money clears the jeep is free to be picked up or shipped to it new home. If you have any questions do not hesitate to call. Again I have done this MANY times, and is painless. Call with questions. 602.763.3505 DREW or www.thejeepfarm.com for more pics and videos of jeep running. |

Jeep Wrangler's shift to aluminum could see production leave Toledo
Mon, 06 Oct 2014The Jeep Wrangler may be a timeless design, but sooner or later, time will run out and Chrysler will have to replace it with a newer model more friendly towards the earth it's designed to traverse. That will, it seems, mean a shift to aluminum construction (whether just for the body or for the entire structure) - but what will that mean for the Wrangler's long-time home of Toledo, OH?
According to the latest pronouncements from Fiat Chrysler chief Sergio Marchionne, the shift to an aluminum Wrangler would likely mean moving production out of Toledo. "If the solution is aluminum," Marchionne told Automotive News, "then I think unfortunately Toledo is the wrong place, the wrong setup to try and build a Wrangler, because it requires a complete reconfiguring of the assets that would be cost-prohibitive."
Marchionne also indicated that, were Wrangler production to move elsewhere, it would find another line to take its place in Ohio. "One of the thing that we are dealing with now is what else we do with Toledo that fulfills our commitment to the city and to Ohio. I don't have a doubt that there will be zero impact on head count and employment levels and anything else." Jeep has built the Wrangler in Toledo since World War II, with the exception of six years starting in 1986 when it was built in Brampton, Ontario. The complex dates back to 1910 and currently produces the Wrangler and Cherokee. Past products have included the Wagoneer and Commanche as well as the Dodge Dakota and Nitro.
2021-22 Dodge Challenger Hellcat drops manual option
Wed, Mar 2 2022The six-speed manual has been dropped from the 2022 Dodge Challenger Hellcat at least temporarily while it awaits a powertrain calibration update that will allow it to be sold again, Road & Track reports. The combination has been unavailable to order since November 2021, Stellantis said. Dodge didn't give R&T much of an explanation regarding the combo's absence, saying only that a revised calibration that would allow the configuration to be sold is coming. When is anybody's guess. In the meantime, we're starting to wonder just how committed Stellantis is to offering its V8s to buyers who aren't opting for half-ton pickups or larger. The inline-six that is slated to replace the 5.7-liter Hemi variant in at least some applications is expected to debut soon. While the 5.7-liter Hemi has surely more than paid for itself at this point, it's likely that Stellantis is limiting availability only to its most profitable models, which help offset the CAFE costs associated with lower fleet mileage. And while Stellantis made quite a bit of noise in recent years about its customers wanting V8s, options for such have become thinner on the ground. The new Grand Cherokee is ostensibly offered with the V8 on its three top trims — Trailhawk, Overland and Summit — but only the last of those can be found anywhere in U.S. inventory with a Hemi under the hood. Trailhawk and Overland V8s simply do not exist. You don't have to take our word for it; you can look for yourself. Related video: This content is hosted by a third party. Hendrick wants to put Jeep Wranglers back on the battlefield
Mon, Jan 25 2016The Jeep Wrangler could be headed back to the battlefield. According to reports, negotiations are currently under way with the US Army to adapt the iconical American off-roader for military use. The Wranglers would serve as inexpensive, lightweight, unarmored vehicles that could be more easily airlifted into remote locations than costlier, heavier, and bulkier options. The proposal is not being fielded by the Jeep brand itself or its parent company Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, but by Hendrick Dynamics. The Charlotte-based offshoot of NASCAR racing team Hendrick Motorsports calls its modified Wrangler the Hendrick Commando. Instead of the 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 found in most US-market Wranglers, the Commando version employs the 2.8-liter diesel four built by VM Motori, modified to run on any type of diesel fuel or on JP-8 jet fuel to maximize its deployment versatility and comply with the Army's Single Fuel mandate of 2012. It would also support a variety of modular attachments for specific jobs, ranging from machine gun mounts and counter-mine rakes to radar arrays and advanced communications equipment. Hendrick says the Commando could also be deployed by helicopter or in cargo planes. And because it's based on a civilian platform, the Commando would also benefit from the latest advancements introduced by its manufacturer, the parts and service network already in place, and the thorough testing that's already gone into developing the Wrangler for civilian use. Hendrick has reportedly built 14 prototypes to date, including the two-door Commando 2 (based on the standard Wrangler), the four-door Commando 4 (based on the Wrangler Unlimited), and even a pickup conversion called the Commando S. It is not, however, the only company adapting Jeep Wranglers for military application. Israel-based Automotive Industries Ltd has been producing successive versions of the Wrangler-based Storm for use by the Israel Defense Forces and other militaries overseas since 1990. If the US Army awards the contract for the Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) vehicle to Hendrick Dynamics, it would bring the iconic Jeep back to the battlefield where it got its start. The brand and its most prolific model trace their roots back to the Willys MB, launched in 1941 on contract from the US Army for deployment in World War II.
