Up for auction is a classic 1982 Jeep CJ 7 Laredo. This Jeep is in its original form and has never been restored. It spent 95% of its life in New Mexico and California's dry humidity which accounts for its amazing shape. The Jeep shows its original factory paint job as can been seen in the photos. The original welding marks can still be seen as well. The paint does have touch ups as to be expected on a vehicle of this age, as well as one small area on the hood that the paint has worn away. The touch ups are small and have been included in the pictures. The body itself is straight and free of any dings or damage. The under carriage of this jeep is in absolutely amazing shape. It truly looks as if it has recently rolled of the showroom floor. Do not be mistaken, the undercarriage has not been touched in any way and the Jeep frame still sports the original hand written code as seen in the pictures. The engine and drive train have 128,500 original miles which is very low for a Jeep built in 1982, hence the current shape the Jeep is in today. The engine is the the proven Jeep 258 backed with a factory automatic transmission. All gauges and lights work as they should and are original to this Jeep. The only items not original to this Jeep is the CD player, small suspension lift, new BesTop seats, and updated wrangler hard top for better visibility. As you can see the word original is used often to describe this Jeep CJ 7, as that is the condition that the Jeep is in. The Jeep is a true collectors item and I have enjoyed it. The only small issue currently is a firm shift from 2nd to 3rd gear, it is only noticeable on aggressive take offs. I have been told this is a small adjustment issue, however I baby the Jeep when it is driven and it was never an issue for me. Please look through all the photos and if you have any questions feel free to email me. I am more than happy to provide a phone number for further discussions on the Jeep. I will also try to load a walk around video via youtube and will provide the link to those who are interested. My only reason for selling this Jeep is that I recently inherited my fathers Jeep CJ 7 and it holds immense sentimental value. Open bid is the lowest I'll accept for the jeep, so once a bid is placed the Jeep will sale. Thank you and happy bidding. I will also be more than happy to show this Jeep in person for those who are interested. Please do not bid if you do not plan on buying. For those with less than 10 feedbacks, please contact me prior to bidding or bids will be cancelled. Here is the updated link to the walk around video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W6nGWOIVSo0

FCA applies to trademark 'My Freedom' for subscription service
Wed, Jan 22 2020Almost a year ago to the day, several outlets reported that Fiat Chrysler would trial three car-swapping programs in Boston focused on the Jeep brand. One program covered peer-to-peer Jeep rentals through Turo; another was a three-month subscription service through Avis that allowed Jeep owners to swap for Ram or Dodge vehicles; the third was called "Car Borrowing" and enabled Jeep owners to buy "Jeep Coins" to use on a one-day rental of other Fiat Chrysler products. It's possible FCA is taking last year's lessons to the next phase, CarBuzz having discovered the automaker applied to trademark the term "My Freedom" with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. The listed purpose of the mark would be "motor vehicle subscription services, namely, providing temporary use of motor vehicles to members for their personal use." Having begun its research using Jeep, it's not clear if a potential My Freedom subscription service would retain the 4x4 SUV focus or include other brands in the fold; with Jeep's martial origins, the brand has made ample use of the Freedom name over the years. There's also a link to new partner Groupe PSA, as the French automaker's mobility division and subscription service is dubbed Free2Move. Related: Autoblog's guide to car subscription services FCA made no comment on the filing, but an analyst at AutoForecast Solutions told The Detroit News that the submission "prepares (FCA) for the future," as. "The idea that autonomy would prevent the need for your own vehicle leads perfectly into subscriptions." U.S. brands haven't cracked the subscription nut yet, even with their premium offerings. Ford bought subscription startup Canvas in 2016, then sold it last year to the car-rental app Fair. GM launch Book by Cadillac in 2016, and shut it down for retooling in 2018 before a re-launch scheduled to happen sometime this year. If nothing else, an FCA subscription program with access to the top-end product could give other-brand luxury owners an easy way to pay attention to Maserati and Alfa Romeo. That would be good for everyone. Related Video:
FCA nears plea deal in diesel emissions fraud probe
Wed, Oct 27 2021Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) is nearing an agreement to plead guilty to criminal conduct to resolve a multiyear emissions fraud probe surrounding Ram pickup trucks and Jeep sport-utility vehicles with diesel engines, people familiar with the matter said. FCA lawyers and U.S. Justice Department officials are brokering a plea deal that could be unveiled in coming weeks and include financial penalties totaling between $250 million and $300 million, the people said. Such a resolution with FCA, which is now part of Stellantis NV, would come more than four years after Volkswagen AG pleaded guilty to criminal charges to resolve its own diesel-emissions scandal involving nearly 600,000 vehicles. It would also mark the final significant chapter in the government crackdown on automakers' emissions practices that was precipitated by Volkswagen's deception, which became known as "Dieselgate." The FCA investigation focuses on roughly 100,000 diesel-powered vehicles that allegedly evaded emissions requirements. The plea negotiations are fluid and some terms, including the size of any financial penalties, could change as discussions continue, the people said. Justice Department officials are preparing paperwork that will likely be negotiated with FCA to finalize the plea deal, which could result in changes and also present an outside chance for the agreement to fall apart, the people said. A plea agreement would cap a series of investigations dating back to 2015 surrounding diesel-powered vehicles in FCA's U.S. lineup. The current criminal investigation targets the U.S unit of the Italian-American automaker. The affected vehicles span model years 2014 to 2016. Representatives for FCA parent Stellantis and the Justice Department declined to comment. The scandals over emissions cheating tarnished diesel technology and accelerated the industry's shift to electric vehicles. The European automakers had promoted "clean diesel" technology as a way to reduce carbon dioxide emissions and ease a transition to an all-electric future. When regulators on both sides of the Atlantic uncovered evidence that diesel vehicles polluted far more in real world driving, the argument for a slower transition to battery electric vehicles was shredded. Now, automakers are accelerating battery electric vehicle development to comply with tougher, post-Dieselgate pollution standards.
Jeep spied testing Hellcat-powered Grand Cherokee Trackhawk
Fri, Mar 11 2016The Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk is coming. We know this, because Mike Manley, the head of Jeep, said so. We showed you this brief spy video a while back, but now we have our clearer images of the Trackhawk undergoing testing. And it looks just like a normal Grand Cherokee SRT. Yeah, anti-climactic, we know. The four shots we have show a bit of camo over the front bumper and grille, likely concealing a tweaked design or visible bits of the 6.2-liter, supercharged V8. It looks like there's a rather substantial opening below the upper grille, almost like a ram-air system. There's also a smidge of what looks like tape on the front wheel arches, although this might not mean much of anything. What's interesting is what isn't here. There's no perceivable change to the back of the car. The exhaust pipes look like they're about the same size, there's no noticeable changes to the aerodynamics, and in fact, there's not even any camouflage. Jeep also hasn't updated the Grand Cherokee Trackhawk's hood, which is somewhat surprising considering the changes for every other Hellcat-equipped vehicle (concepts included). You can check out our earliest look at the Trackhawk up top. As for when this monstrous Grand Cherokee will debut, we're expecting it to arrive sometime in 2017, perhaps on FCA's home turf at the Detroit Auto Show. Related Video:
