1982 Jeep CJ7 Laredo.
The build of this jeep Cost over $35,000 (receipts included), not including the cost of a mint, rust free, original paint Laredo. Built mainly in 2010 and most receipts from then, some before and some after. In 2010 $16,894 was spent to install a smog legal GM Crate 350 Throttle Body Injection and 700r Auto trans. This was done less than 15k miles ago and it runs excellent. Serpentine belt system. Just passed CA smog (bar coded, so no issues now or in the future). The conversion was done by Extreme Gear Offroad in Orangevale, ca. Fresh tune just done by local Jeep shop, new plugs, wires, cap, rotor, serpentine belt. Professionally spring and shackle lifted to a perfect height. Sits on 35" BFG on real Bead Lock M/T Wheels. Matching spare has never touched the ground. Superior One piece Axles. Dana 30 Front with ARB air locker (needs new compressor). AMC 20 rear with Auburn Gear Locker. Rebuilt transfer case. Lokar shifter on the 700r trans with overdrive. 4:56 gears. Wilderness racks on rear. Redneck Ram Hydraulic Assist Steering Factory Tach and Clock (Laredo), Grant steering wheel,Tilt Column, Chrome louvered hood, Chrome grill, Chrome hood hinges, chrome mirrors. Bestop Seats and console (consol has tear in side). Bolt in full roll bar. Warn XD9000i Winch and mounting plate. Powermaster 140 amp Alternator. New Powerbrake Booster and master cylinder this month. Very nice Hard Top, Hard doors (Laredo). Quick disconnect front sway bar. New Radiator. Warn 2.5 Gallon Aux Air Tank AVM front hubs Throttle Body Injection Poison Spyder Trail Stinger Step Bars High Lift Jack and Jerry Can included. I would say the body is excellent, original paint. It has not been beaten on the rocks. More babied on the trail. No rust now or ever. Mostly original paint. Front tube fenders painted to match. I have had Jeeps since I was a teenager and never had one that was lifted that drove as nice as this one down the freeway. Nice and tight, no steering issues. Feels very solid and safe at 65-70 MPH. The overdrive helps keep the rpm's down. Very powerful and will go anywhere. Only things I know it needs is a new stereo and rear seat (I kept gear in back). Built in roll bar 6x9 speakers are in place. Can be driven cross country or the Rubicon Trail today! I am sure there are things I am forgetting, so please ask questions. (Ask before bidding) I have clear CA title, current registration in my name. CA smog cert in hand, ready to go. I can store it for 30 days while transportation arrangements are made if necessary. If you have less than 5 positive feedbacks use "ask seller a question" to send me an email with your contact info. The "buy it now" price is thousands less than I really want for it. But it is time to sell it. |

Jeep Wrangler production in Toledo to nearly double by 2018
Fri, Jul 15 2016The Jeep Wrangler's future in Toledo, OH, is officially secure. FCA US announced plans on Thursday to spend $1.05 billion to retool the Wrangler factory and another site in Illinois to build Jeeps. The investment could add up to 1,000 jobs, and, according to The Detroit Free Press, allow Jeep to build as many as 450,000 Wrangler models in Toledo. FCA is investing $700 million to make over the Toledo North factory to build the next-generation Wrangler – a vehicle that's hotly anticipated by enthusiasts. FCA said this will add about 700 new jobs. The Wrangler factory is part of a multi-site complex in Ohio, and FCA said an announcement about the South factory will come later. Nearly two years ago, FCA chief executive Sergio Marchionne touched off a firestorm by suggesting the Wrangler could leave Toledo, though plans to keep the iconic Jeep there quickly proceeded. Automotive News reports the new Wrangler will use some aluminum elements, run a turbo four-cylinder engine, and offer a diesel variant. Designers will also pay increased attention to aerodynamics, though maintain the Wrangler's familiar appearance. Additionally, FCA reportedly plans to build a Wrangler pickup in Toledo. That 450,000-vehicle threshold could potentially break down into 350,000 traditional Wrangler models, along with another 100,000 Wrangler-based pickup trucks. When the current Toledo plant was opened in 2005, Chrysler said its capacity was about 150,000 vehicles per year. Since then, that figure has increased to about 240,000 Wranglers yearly, and Jeep has no problem selling that many. FCA's factory in Belvidere, IL, gets $350 million for upgrades to produce the Jeep Cherokee, which moves there in 2017 from Toledo as part of a product shuffle. FCA builds the Dodge Dart and Jeep's Patriot and Compass in Belvidere. The automaker is killing the Dart and will replace the compact Jeeps with a single model next year. The moves are part of FCA's strategy to fortify the Jeep brand, which has posted healthy sales and enjoys a strong reputation around the world. Related Video:
Mopar updates owner apps to make car ownership easier
Wed, Jun 3 2015Owners of any Fiat Chrysler vehicle will want to head to the Apple App or Google Play store to download the latest version of their brand-specific smartphone app. Developed by Mopar, the new suite of FCA Owner apps specific to each brand pack a number of valuable features. For starters, the apps let owners access information like maintenance schedules, service history and recall notices. The apps also include an array of how-to information and instructional videos, offer push notification for important updates like maintenance offers and recall alerts, and allow customers to schedule test drives and receive quotes from their local dealers for new vehicles. But that's just the tip of the proverbial iceberg. The FCA Owner apps also feature an augmented reality function that helps drivers identify instrument-panel icons. There's a Parking Reminder feature that helps drivers remember where they parked their car, guides them back to their parking spot and tracks the time left on the meter. Finally, there's an Accident Assistant feature that helps drivers record the specifics of an accident, upload insurance information and take photos of the scene. It'll even help find the closest certified collision repair facility, schedule an appointment and access roadside assistance. The apps are available for any Chrysler, Dodge, Ram, Jeep, Fiat or Alfa Romeo built from 2011 till today, and are available for either iOS or Android. If you've got more than one FCA vehicle in your garage, you needn't download multiple versions of the app as they'll work on any model the Italian-American automaker offers. Detroit automakers observing 8:46 of silence to mark Juneteenth
Fri, Jun 19 2020GM Executive Vice President of Global Manufacturing Gerald Johnson, right, talks with employees at the Fairfax Assembly & Stamping Plant in Kansas City, Kansas. (file photo - GM) Â Â All three Detroit automakers are observing Juneteenth, a day commemorating the end of slavery, on Friday by observing 8 minutes and 46 seconds of silence, among other companywide efforts to advance the causes of social and racial justice and equality. Juneteenth marks the date, June 19, in 1865 when Union soldiers, led by Maj. Gen. Gordon Granger, arrived at Galveston, Texas, and announced the Civil War had ended and enslaved African Americans were to be freed. President Abraham Lincoln had officially ended slavery more than two years prior via the Emancipation Proclamation, but Union forces didn't reach Texas until that time, so there was virtually no enforcement. The 8:46 timestamp is significant because it was the length of time that a police officer in Minneapolis knelt on the neck of George Floyd during an arrest, ultimately killing him and sparking waves of protests across the U.S. and overseas. Autoblog asked automakers about their plans to mark Juneteenth, what they were doing to advance the cause of social justice for Black people, and how many African Americans they employ in both blue- and white-collar jobs. We heard back from GM, Ford, Fiat Chrysler and Honda but not from Nissan and Toyota. General Motors GM’s U.S. workforce is 17.2% Black and 69.2% white, according to its most recent corporate Diversity and Inclusion Report. GM's total global employment is 173,000, and it says women and minorities represent 40% of its team of corporate officers. For reference, the Census Bureau says African Americans make up 13.4% of the U.S. population of roughly 328 million people. White people constitute 76.5%. As previously reported, GM planned to pause production at its factories on each shift today and observe silence for 8 minutes and 46 seconds. The company will also have a digital countdown clock atop the GM's headquarters in Detroit for the moment of silence. Additionally, Chairman and CEO Mary Barra has said she will lead a new Inclusion Advisory Board made up of people from within and outside GM to suggest areas for change and hold the company to its commitments to fight injustice and racial inequality.
