Vehicle came out of Missouri. I purchased it a few months ago and have used it as a shop truck of sorts before I did some work to it to make it look the way it does. It was redone about 10-12 years ago and has been gently used since then. It has been well serviced and upgraded with a YJ 4.0Liter fuel injected straight 6, which makes it spot on reliable! This is by far the most dependable and reliable truck I've owned in a long time, with 157k original miles.
OPTIONS:
Power steering
Manual front DISC brakes
Bucket seat interior
Custom center console
Full 1/2 Hardtop
Stock wheels with radial Wrangler tires
4 speed manual transmission
4.0Liter 258ci Fuel-Injected Inline 6 cylinder motor
Tow hitch
Flowmaster style single muffler exhaust
Mechanically it fires right up and sounds great along with the nice and throaty exhaust system. Motor has been upgraded to the later model YJ 4.0 Liter with Fuel-Injection. Transmission is solid and shifts good through all the gears without any noises or grinding, with a good clutch. Now as for driving the car, i've taken it out of state several times, and everywhere around town to haul parts. You can cruise with it on the highway all day and I would trust it to drive anywhere at the drop of a hat.
Interior is very presentable. Seats in decent shape (some wear by passenger seat lower back area. Door panels excellent (needs new driver's side inner handle). Dash is very nice with one tiny hairline crack. Overall very presentable for a working man's driver truck.
Underside has a SOLID frame. Floorboards have had a couple of prior patches by footwell areas. Bed is in GOOD shape overall with some small patches near the inner wheel well area.
The old girl is NOT perfect by any means of course so please keep that in mind when bidding. Paint is in GOOD shape and cleans up very nice, but was NOT a $10k paintjob so please keep that in mind (looks good but has some issues of course like small dings, a few touch-ups, some scratches, and the like). Rear driver's side wheel flare cracked. Underside has scaly surface rust as you would expect from normal use. Not working: horn, fuel gauge, temp gauge, perhaps a bulb or two may need replacing where needed.
So overall she is not perfect and will need some form of TLC depending on how nice you want it to be and what you plan to do with the car. Please note, I cannot remember every single issue with the car, nor do I know everything wrong with it, as it is after all over 30 years old so keep that in mind.
If you just want a GREAT LOOKING and mechanically excellent DRIVER needing tlc, this is the car for you. If you want a show car, it will need some considerable investment or total restoration to bring it up to that level of course. I ENCOURAGE ANYONE BIDDING OR SERIOUSLY INTERESTED TO COME LOOK AT IT IN PERSON. I WILL BE GLAD TO SHOW IT TO YOU TOP TO BOTTOM SO YOU KNOW EXACTLY WHAT YOU'RE GETTING INTO.

Jeep Renegade refresh spied with big infotainment screen
Fri, Jan 19 2018Based on these recent spy shots, it looks like the littlest Jeep is getting a little makeover soon. They show a Renegade with camouflage on the front and rear, indicating there will be some changes to the outside. Whatever those changes are, they're extremely subtle. The headlights and taillights look untouched. The grille may have slightly wider slots than the current one, and the available fog lights look a little bigger. The biggest change appears to be inside. Sitting in the center stack is a massive touchscreen. It's bigger than any available on the current Renegade. It also pushes physical buttons and knobs for controls lower down in the stack, instead of surrounding the screen. The lower part of the center stack has also been redesigned for this new button layout, which includes driver assist buttons, stereo controls and climate controls. Fans of manual transmissions will also be happy to see this newer Renegade features a stick-shift. Part of that could be because this Renegade is probably a European model, based on where the images were taken. But seeing as this is a light refresh, and Jeep already offers a manual here, it should still be available on U.S. models, too. Also, considering how mild this update is, we would expect to see it revealed by the end of this year. Related Video:
FCA will pay you to hack its systems
Wed, Jul 13 2016FCA is willing to pay you to hack its cars, as long as you tell the company how you did it. In an effort to enhance cybersecurity and prevent future incidents like the Jeep Cherokee hack last year, FCA announced it's working with Bugcrowd to find vulnerabilities in its vehicle software. Bugcrowd labels itself as a crowdsourced application security testing company. Users, or independent security researchers as Bugcrowd calls them, can find exploits or vulnerabilities in FCA systems. They then submit the information to Bugcrowd, who in turn supplies the info to FCA. The goal is to update systems and close any possible security breaches. FCA is offering bounties from $150 to $1,500 to any Mr. Robot types, with payment based on the size and severity of the flaw. FCA wants hackers to focus specifically on the UConnect website and the company's iOS and Android apps. No bounties will be given for anything outside the scope of those three things. Bugcrowd says it will not take any legal action against anyone who submits an exploit. While we think it's good that the company is taking steps to address these problems, it's not a groundbreaking maneuver. Other companies employ similar systems. Earlier this year, both Tesla and Uber announced that they're willing to offer up to $10,000 to hackers who find vulnerabilities in their system. For years, Microsoft has been paying hackers to find exploits. It also seems that FCA took its time to announce this plan, considering the Jeep hack happened nearly a year ago. If the partnership works, we can expect other automakers to make similar deals. Related Video: This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Jeep Wrangler pickup spy photos reveal production truck bed
Thu, Apr 27 2017The last time we saw the Wrangler pickup undergoing testing, it was sporting a strange pre-production bed that looked as though it had been pulled off a Ram 1500. It seems development has progressed since then, because, despite the heavy camouflage, the Wrangler in these spy photos is definitely carrying a production-ready bed. Unlike the earlier test bed, this bed has sides that are the same width as the cab, and the top of the bed matches up with the body line on the cab. The bed is properly boxy and straight-edged like a Wrangler, too. It looks quite good, and actually very similar to the custom AEV Brute. However, unlike the Brute, the traditional plastic wheel arch flares seen below the camo extend farther forward, and the angle of the flares' forward edges match those of the rear doors. The rest of the truck is rather well covered, so there aren't many more details to glean from the photos. There is a very large rear window, which should be good for visibility. Even though the roof is covered, we expect a removable roof of some sort is hiding underneath, since the previous prototype had removable panels like those on the current Wrangler Unlimited. We also expect a turbocharged four-cylinder and a naturally aspirated V6 to be offered as engines on this and other new Wranglers, as well as the possibility of a diesel of some sort. As for when we'll see the Wrangler pickup, we would expect a reveal in early- to mid-2019, with trucks appearing on lots in very late 2019 or early 2020. This is based on a report from The Detroit News that says production will begin in 2019. Related Video:
