See the seller's listing for full details and description of any imperfections.Seller Notes:"The jeep is a great start for a restoration project or for parts, the frame is in great shape and has a clear title."

For sale is a 1979 jeep CJ7.  This jeep has a fiberglass body that is in great shape, the tub has been repaired of all defects and has been primed.  The Jeep also has YJ hard doors with the door latches installed in fiberglass tub.  The fenders are fiberglass and need to be primed and sanded.  As you can see in the pictures one has been sanded one has not(black one).

The engine is a AMC 360 cubic inch V8.  The engine runs and is complete, needs a tune up.  I put a new mechanical fuel pump and fuel filter this year.  The engine needs new valve cover gaskets and i would recommend a full exhaust, new belts, and clean up the wiring.  The jeep has FUNCTIONAL power steering and alternator.  Has a automatic transmission that goes into all gears including reverse.  Has the quadratrac transfer case( have not tried to use as vacuum lines are not hooked up currently.

The front bumper, roll bar, and front grill have been media blasted and have not been painted, the rust is surface rust.  They are solid and need either sanded or cleaned up prior to paint.

The previous owner put brand new polyurethane bushings, brand new u joints, brand new brake pads and rotors, and poly. body mounts and new grade 8 hardware on the CJ7.

I have the dash and numerous other interior pieces.  Everything i have related to the jeep will be included in the sale.

I have brand new shocks in the box, also will include a blue soft top.  I am not sure if all the hardware is included for the top, i was not planning on running a roof.

I was planning on finishing the jeep but moved and do not have time to finish the project.  It is a great start for a father son project or just a fun summer ride.

The good:
-Brand new in box windshield frame
-all originals gauges included
-new indicator lights in box
-YJ hard doors, in primer
-new fuel pump
-Fiberglass body
-Fiberglass fenders
-Straight frame,  has been repaired in 2 places near the rear bumper(look at pictures).
-BRAND NEW Goodyear wrangler 31X10.50R15 TIRES
-15"aluminum rims in great shape
-new stainless steel battery tray
-comes with brand new stainless steel hinges and hardware kit(doors, hood, windshield, latches)

The bad
- No radiator
-No seats(seat brackets are included)
-steel hood has a dent in the top, can be repaired.
-needs a tune up and full exhaust
-needs engine belt.

This jeep is sold as is, i tried to represent it to the best of my ability.  Feel free to contact me with any questions or come look at it.  I have the title in hand and will add vin number to the listing when i get home.

Abandoned Jeep found under twenty feet of snow in Donner Pass

Tue, Mar 14 2017

You guys have heard of Donner Pass, right? The dreaded mountain pass in the northern Sierra Nevadas out in California where an ill-fated group of mid-19th century pioneers got lost and fell to cannibalism to survive? Of course you have. Well, it seems that the pass has claimed another victim. It's not a pack of overly-optimistic farmers from Illinois this time, but a sad and lonely Jeep Cherokee. Last Thursday, the California Highway Patrol base at Truckee, California, posted a picture of the rear end of a forlorn-looking XJ with a mangled rear end buried under a veritable mountain of snow and ice. Discovered by a CalTrans truck-mounted snowblower around Serene Lakes near Donner Summit, a CHP representative told Jalopnik they believe the old white XJ has been sitting there since the beginning of winter. More than twenty feet of snow and ice are piled atop the Jeep, a winter's worth of snowplow leavings. Thankfully, the CHP found no bodies or anything else untoward in the XJ when they were arrived. CHP Truckee suggested that the Jeep's owner left it there, perhaps after a breakdown, and left it when successive layers of snow and ice entombed it. Since it's not blocking traffic and doesn't pose a safety hazard, CalTrans decided to leave the Jeep where they found it. The XJ's owner hasn't been identified yet. Hopefully they're not in too much of a hurry to get their Jeep back, because that thing isn't moving until late spring at the earliest. 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee vs. midsize crossovers and SUVs: How they compare on paper

Fri, Mar 30 2018

In a world full of SUVs and crossovers all competing for similar buyers in similar segments, there are still some models that find their own little niches that lack such fevered fighting. The Jeep Grand Cherokee is one of those vehicles. It's an oddball in the sense that it's a midsize crossover SUV with a unibody chassis and independent suspension, but it still uses rear-wheel-drive and four-wheel-drive systems and has some off-road capability. It's also a midsize crossover, but only offers two rows of seats. Despite the Grand Cherokee's odd nature, we did come up with a few crossovers and a classic SUV that seem to match the Jeep in size and pricing. We looked at the numbers to compare them on paper. You can find the raw data in the chart below and deeper analysis after that. As always, this is just a comparison of specifications and you'll want to check out our driving impressions of each car if you're getting serious about one or all of these vehicles. And if you want to compare any of these against other vehicles, be sure to check out our comparison tool. Engines and Drivetrains When comparing base engines, the Jeep Grand Cherokee's 295-horsepower is the clear power winner, beating the next most powerful 4Runner by 25. But in torque, the 4Runner takes the laurels with 278 pound-feet, narrowly edging out the Edge's (no pun intended) turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder's 275. That four-cylinder in the Edge will also be picking up another 5 horsepower for 2019, but it still won't win this power contest. Both Ford and Jeep also have another advantage in the fact that you don't have to settle for the base powertrain. Ford has two other engine options, a naturally aspirated V6 and a twin-turbocharged V6, the latter of which outguns the Grand Cherokee's gasoline V6 in both power and torque. That engine will also be bumped up to an impressive 335 horsepower and 385 pound-feet of torque. View 20 Photos The Jeep has the most engine options, though, and it's the only to offer V8 and diesel options. On most Grand Cherokees, the options include a 5.7-liter V8, which is only available with 4WD. It makes 360 horsepower and 390 pound-feet of torque, outperforming even the 2019 Edge's twin-turbo V6. The diesel engine doesn't make much power with just 240, but it makes up for it with torque at 420 pound-feet. And of course there are the SRT and SRT Trackhawk models with even bigger and supercharged V8 engines respectively.

Jeep CEO a fan of pickup redux

Tue, Mar 10 2015

The idea of a Jeep pickup is a hardly a new concept. After all, putting a bed on the company's rugged off-roaders goes back to the '40s, not to mention the more recent Cherokee-based Comanche. There's a very slim chance that a truck could return to the lineup down the line if brand CEO Mike Manley gets his wish. "I remain a big fan of a Jeep pickup. I think we have history that says it belongs in our portfolio," Manley said to The Detroit News. However, there's no need to get any hopes up soon, because a truck doesn't get any mention in the brand's five-year plan. That puts the earliest possible introduction around 2019. Even Manley is tempering expectations. "At this moment and time, I have higher priorities. That doesn't mean to say that we don't work on it, we're not looking at it," he said to The Detroit News. The most likely candidate to support a future Jeep truck is the next-gen Wrangler, according to The News. The rest of FCA's pickups and SUVs are running at capacity, which makes slipping in another variant difficult. However, the future Wrangler is heavily rumored to get an expanded production facility in Toledo, OH, which could make things possible. Anonymous FCA insiders confirmed to Autoblog that the next-gen Wrangler would be offered with a 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V6 and eight-speed automatic. It's also reportedly using solid axles at the front and rear, a fixed windshield and an aluminum body. That could make for a very fun and practical off-roader. If reading all of this speculation gives you a twinge of deja vu, it should. After the Jeep Gladiator concept (pictured above), there were years of speculation about the brand bringing the pickup back. Even then the plan was for a compact truck to tackle that hole in the segment. It was even believed that the project had a green light for production seemingly with Sergio Marchionne's blessing. Then things were pushed back, and last year, the idea was officially quashed. Related Video:
