1977 Jeep Cj 7, Levis Strauss Edition Renegade on 2040-cars
Scott Depot, West Virginia, United States
Considering my family who owned this jeep before me, I am basically the second owner. 1977 Jeep CJ 7 Renegade for sale with original Levis Strauss interior upgrade Frame off restoration completed just over 19k miles ago, motor is an AMC 360 implanted from a Jeep J-100 with 69k original miles Jeep has been garage kept since restoration, never driven in the snow, rain or mud and never 4-wheeled, last 2 years has been a show jeep and weekend driver 3 speed automatic transmission and quadra-trac transfer system are both original and in good working order, no lock-in/lock-out hubs w/ drum brakes and power steering Tub is fiberglass along with the hood and windshield frame Jeep was repainted along with the rhino lined interior and a second frame coat in 2012 Has original leaf springs and 2" body lift, shocks are older but not original All body attachments/mirrors, screws, front bumper and grill are stainless steel upgrades Wheels are 15"x10" offset American Racing aluminum wheels with 32"x11.5" BF Goodrich all terrain tires with less than 5k miles Exhaust is dual out the rear with Flow Master mufflers with a nice deep clean sound Auction price will include the half top and doors in the photos, 2 solid steel doors with all attachments as well as a full best top soft top and full soft doors This jeep is a head turner and a lot of fun to drive. Like any vehicle driven regularly there are a few dings and things that can be replaced, I will list everything you may be concerned about below and I will be critical First, the speedometer and fuel gauge don't currently work, I do have a replacement unit that should work by replacing and mixing current parts. Steel doors and full soft top have never been installed, although I have all the hardware and frame, it will need put together. I also have a family style roll bar from a YJ that needs painted and a full fiberglass hard top with a sun roof and lift gate that needs a little repair and paint. I will throw these in at the right price. A small crack is about to form in the drivers seat and a Levi's button is missing. There are a few chips in the paint from interstate driving and a nice sized scratch in the drivers side rocker panel (photo included). Emergency brake has never been hooked up and I've not taken the time to clean up the wiring under the hood so one may want to organize that. Shocks are older and would make a nicer ride if replaced: myself nor my wife mind the ride so it's not terrible. There is no air conditioning and I have never ran the heater, heater coil was bypassed many years ago. Since the last paint job, I have replaced the following. Professionally Rebuilt Edlebrock 4-barrel carburetor. All lighting and light wiring, Battery, solenoid, alternator and starter are all new along with some electrical wiring. Breather/air intake and valve covers, radiator reservoir are new along with the master cylinder. Drum brakes work great and have been serviced. Windshield is new along with a mirror and an interior matching console is included. This is a nice jeep that you can ride from 10mph to 85mph with no worries. I had a value placed on it from a local vintage dealer and he valued it at $10k as you see photographed, NADA books it at an average value of $8,500 with a 304 or larger motor so you will not be disappointed in what you get with this purchase. Text or call with questions, I have a short video of me starting, revving and walking around the jeep as it idles I can send you along with any additional picture requests. 304-545-0455

We drive the cars of Furious 7... in Forza Horizon 2 [w/video]
Thu, Apr 9 2015On March 27, Turn 10 Studios, the folks behind the Forza Motorsport series, and Universal Pictures, the studio responsible for the Fast and Furious franchise, gave us a match made in heaven, announcing a "standalone expansion" featuring the two franchises. Called Forza Horizon 2 Presents Fast and Furious, it features the cars from the latest film installment, unique missions and the voice-acting of Chris "Ludacris" Bridges, who plays tech guru Tej Parker on camera. A Fast and Furious video game? Seems like a no brainer. It gets better. Rather than limiting the Fast and Furious Edition cars to the expansion game, Turn 10 made them available through one of their (some may say notorious) downloadable content packages. Eight of the expansion's 11 cars were made available for just $4.99 (the only cars that weren't included were the Fast and Furious Edition Nissan GT-R, while the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport and McLaren P1 are already available in-game). What's cool ais that the cars featured in both games are visually identical to the vehicles driven by the stars of Furious 7. Each in-game car has an on-screen parallel that plays a role in advancing the film's story. Considering that we're unlikely to score seat time in Dominic Toretto's real Dodge Charger, then, we figured we'd take to the game and test the car in the digital realm. We've got nine little cluster reviews, covering the cars both in the game and how they appear in the movies. And don't worry, there are no major spoilers here. Click on for the cars of Forza Horizon 2 Presents Fast and Furious. 1970 Dodge Charger R/T Fast and Furious Edition Supercharged 7.2L V8 / 900 HP / 663 LB-FT The one vehicle that is mandatory in a Fast and Furious video game, Dom's hot-rodded 1970 Dodge Charger, is as much a character in the films as its driver. Furious 7 marks the fourth appearance of this Mopar beast in the series. Not surprisingly it's a handful to drive, wildly quick and with a four-speed transmission packed full of very tall gears. But beyond that, it's arguably the coolest of the FF Edition cars. This black beauty is exactly as it appears in the latest installment of the film, with the video game version featuring intricate little details, like the moving parts on the BDS supercharger. It's an iconic car, and it's treated as such in the game.
May 2016: FCA wins, Ford and GM stumble on weak car volumes
Wed, Jun 1 2016The May 2016 sales numbers are in, and it looks as though FCA is getting some vindication for boldly cancelling two slow-selling car models. Meanwhile, Ford saw overall sales dip and GM's May volume took a big dive versus the same month in 2015. While Marchionne's decision to axe the Chrysler 200 and Dodge Dart has drawn criticism as being short-sighted, it's working for FCA so far. Although the Dart and 200 aren't out of production yet and no capacity has been shifted to crossover or trucks, May's numbers show that the emphasis on Jeep and Ram models makes sense right now. FCA's US sales rose 1 percent last month compared to May 2015, putting the year-to-date total at 955,186 vehicles, an increase of 6 percent compared to the same period last year. Standouts included the Jeep Renegade, Compass, and Patriot, and the Fiat 500X. Ram pickup sales were down 3 percent. And your fun fact is that Alfa Romeo sales were up precisely 10 percent, for a total of 44 4Cs sold versus 40 in the same month last year. At FoMoCo, the Ford brand took a hit to the tune of 6.4 percent from May 2015 to 2016, registering 226,190 sales last month. Lincoln showed improvement on its modest numbers, going from 9,174 to 9,807, a 6.9 percent increase. Overall, Ford was down 5.9 percent for the month to 235,997; despite the slump, year-to-date total Ford sales are up 4.2 percent to 1,112,939. Strong sellers included Escape, Expedition, F-Series, and Transit - big stuff. Most small and/or efficient models (Fiesta, Focus, Fusion, C-Max) saw sales slides. Fusion sales were also down, likely due to effects of model changeover to the freshened 2017 model. Ford has promised four new crossovers and SUVs by 2020 and if things keep trending this way the company will be able to sell them, but things could change in the next four years. GM saw the worst of it for domestic brands. Retail and fleet sales were down for each of the four divisions, with the May 2016 total dropping 18 percent to 240,450 vehicles. GM's year-to-date sales are down 5.0 percent in 2016 to 1,183,705. Both the Sierra and Silverado were down significantly, and the majority of Chevy, Buick, GMC, and Cadillac nameplates saw sales decreases, with both small cars and larger utilities included. Not even big stuff could help GM this month, it seems. We'll have more on the rest of the industry's May sales as those figures trickle in.
Stellantis axed the SRT engineer team, but performance isn't going away
Mon, Feb 15 2021Stellantis has broken up the Street & Racing Technology (SRT) engineering team that created over a dozen high-performance vehicles, including the Dodge Charger Hellcat, but the situation isn't as dire as it sounds. The newly-formed company assigned SRT's former engineers to different positions, where they'll continue to make hot rods. "All of the core elements of the SRT performance engineering team have been integrated into our company's global engineering organization," a spokeswoman told enthusiast website Mopar Insiders. She added that integrating SRT's personnel into other brands in the Stellantis portfolio will ensure that the lessons learned from decades of peddling speed will permeate other products. Previously, SRT operated with a high degree of independence. Don't get too excited. Her statement does not necessarily mean that Citroen will begin building cars powered by the Hellcat engine, though a C3 Chat D'enfer sounds absolutely epic. Technology transfer will likely be limited to fields like aerodynamics and thermal management, and the design department might learn a couple of neat new tricks. Dodge will still move forward with the development of its next SRT-branded cars; the decision to dissolve the SRT team will not affect future models, according to the spokeswoman. Whether they'll be powered by a V8 is up in the air, because company boss Tim Kuniskis warned that regulations are killing the eight-cylinder engine. Similarly, Jeep will continue designing high-performance models, like the Grand Cherokee Trackhawk. What changes is that the model will be developed and designed by a group of engineers and designers from Jeep, not from SRT. SRT is dead, but performance isn't going away. SRT's demise nonetheless marks the end of an era for Chrysler. The division traces its roots to 1989, when some of the company's brightest minds were brought together to develop the first-generation Dodge Viper. It merged with Team Prowler to form the Specialty Vehicle Engineering (SVE) group, which was renamed Performance Vehicle Operations (PVO) in 2002 and finally dubbed SRT in 2004. SRT has operated as the carmaker's in-house tuner since, its resume includes a diverse selection of cars ranging from the Neon SRT-4 to the 1500 TRX, and it was promoted to a standalone brand led by designer Ralph Gilles in 2011. Fiat-Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) axed the SRT brand in 2014 but kept the name and the development team. Related video:
