1976 Jeep Cj-5 Amc With Fresh Rebuilt V-8 401 And Dana 44 Rear End on 2040-cars
Saint Anthony, Idaho, United States
| !976 CJ-5. This has been an ongoing project for about 8 years now. I am moving and I do not want to put any more money into this. New since I have had it; Alcan leaf springs all the way around, 5 rims and tires, starter, battery, alternator, radiator. It has a fresh rebuilt 401 that does not even have a hundred miles on it. Engine had the "BJ builds an AMC" oil mods done to it, see receipt for all the other details. Has the Edelbrock R4B intake with a rebuilt Edelbrock carb. I also recently found a 1975 CJ Dana 44 rear end and had that totally rebuilt with tru trac and matching gears to what I have in the jeep now, 3.54. Correct spaced leaf spring perches were profesionally welded on. Ready to go but has not been installed on the jeep. Have a hard top In fair shape and the bikini with doors. 4 wheel drive and transmission work great. Now the issues I have not gotten to; brake master cylinder needs rebuilt, sometimes you need to pump it once, window on hardtop door broke out, window on passenger side cracked, both need replaced, body is rusted quite a bit, I put diamond plate over rusted out floor boards, I was always going to just throw on a fiberglass body, heater core leaks, needs replaced. Actually the frame is not rusted out, I think the leaking rear main seal in the original 304 motor kept it pretty well oiled. Has headers that exit out the sides, so the fender wells were cut out for that by the PO. I have probably close to $7500 in this jeep. You can take over for half that. You will need to come and get this or send your car carrier to Saint Anthony Idaho at your own expense. I will require payment whithin 1 week by check or cash. It needs to be out of here by September 1st. |

Jeep Cherokee faces on-sale delay
Sat, 23 Mar 2013A report in The Wall Street Journal looks at some of the obstacles to the 2014 Jeep Cherokee that go beyond its mootable yet "very contemporary" looks, almost all of them based on Fiat's financial position. Starting with that sheetmetal, in defense of it SRT president Ralph Gilles and Jeep design head Mark Allen said they wanted to "make sure the design still looks modern five years from now."
The WSJ piece doesn't cite longevity as a factor, instead saying that its features originated in a design for an Alfa Romeo, the transformation into a Jeep design meant allowing Chrysler get it to market more quickly and save "hundreds of millions of dollars" in engineering.
The need for Fiat to save money while it weathers the European situation has cut budgets for development, engineering and the pace of retooling the Toledo, Ohio plant to build the Cherokee. In a familiar case of snowballing at work, among the effects will be pushing back the Cherokee's volume sales date and delaying updates to some of Chrysler's other products.
Chrysler set to make $266M-investment into 8-speed transmission production
Wed, Dec 10 2014Chrysler will shortly make a significant $266-million investment into its Kokomo, IN transmission factory in a bid to expand production of its eight-speed automatic transmissions. The gearboxes, which are built under license from Germany's ZF Friedrichshafen, have been well received by customers and critics, and according to an SEC filing obtained by Automotive News, the transmissions will eventually find their way to all of Chrysler's rear-drive offerings (Viper and heavy-duty Ram models, aside). According to AN, a Chrysler spokesman says the investment has not been confirmed, but once it is, it'll mark the company's latest in a growing line of investments at the facility. Chrysler has poured $1.5 billion into Kokomo since 2009.
Jurassic Park made a big impact on these Jeep drivers
Thu, 12 Jun 2014For a certain cohort of young folks, Jurassic Park is a touchstone film from their childhood. Not only did it play into practically every little boy's love of dinosaurs, the movie included some great action scenes and special effects that still hold up today. In its latest video, The Aficionauto takes a look the Jurassic Park Motor Pool, a California car club with over 40 fans who created replica vehicles from the iconic film.
The club is made up of an interesting cross-section of people. Many of them were Jeep Wrangler fans that already loved off-roading and Jurassic Park, and liked the idea of bringing them together. Like any close-knit club, it ends up being about community and people coming together to share their interests. It's quite a heartwarming video. Also, be sure to stay until the end because The Aficionauto teases a future Jurassic Park-themed vehicle. Scroll down to check out the motor pool.
