Here is a Great looking AND running 2000 Jeep Cherokee Sport with a nice list of accessories and very low milage for it's age. To start off, I purchased it in late'06 and it was stock with no bells or whistles. I have a daily driver car so my intention was to design a good trail truck that I could use for tailgating, camping and off-roading. Well, I built the truck, (by professional businesses) and haven't had the chance, (or the time!) to use it. And now I'm tired of letting it sit around with no use. I seldom ever drive it, since the day I bot it, which reflects in the milage, and it needs a good home and someone to put it to good use. Every other week, I'll pick a day, and drive it to work just to keep it moving, We've used it at 4 Chili Cook-Off's, and a hand full of Markham Park tailgating parties, but that's it. It's sad, I know. I'm an up-front guy with a clear conscience, so I have no problem telling you there is some rust spots that have been there for years now and don't seem to be spreading. On the front of the roof, on the back center roof where I used to have a CB antenna mounted and on the passenger side far rear window where the water drain is in the bottom left corner. ALL this can be clearly seen in the pics I've included. What you see is what you get. If you have any questions, just ask. I'm not a car salesman, just a regular guy with a busy schedule, so I'll try my best to respond asap.

* 2000 Jeep Cherokee XJ Sport.
* 123,442 Miles (divided by it's age, 13 years, that's only  9500/year!)
* 4 1/5 inch Rubicon Superflex Lift Kit.
* ES300 Shocks with Manual Adjustable Rebound settings.
* Steering Stabilizer.
* 32x11.5R15 Mud-Terrain T/A Tires.
* 15x8 Dick Cepek Wheels.
* 4/56 Gears w/ new Bearings, Gasket Seals and Oil.
* JCR Offroad Stage 3 Steel Rock Sliders (long arm compatible if you ever decided to go higher)
* Yakima Bike Rack with locks.
* Digi-Camo Headliner.
* Dual Plug, 1250 Watt DC to AC Inverter.
* Aftermarket Pager Alarm System with Remote Start. From inside the house, at a movie theater, store, (within reason, it won't reach you if you're at the other end of a mall), the alarm will page you on the key chain fob and alert you that the alarm is going off, tell you if it is just the shock sensor or if someone actually opened a door. You can also start or stop the engine from the fob. If you like the truck to be cooled off (leave the a/c on when you leave the truck) and when you remote start the truck, the a/c is pumping and cooling everything down. The opposite if you live in a cold climate, just leave the heat on. I does more but there's too much to put all in here. I will explain it all to the winning bidder.
* JVC HD Radio with front-facing Phono Jack Aux input and USB input, Ipod compatible and controllable from the stereo.
* Polk Audio Component Speakers in all 4 doors with Separate Mids and Highs and Independent Crossovers. Powered by a Punch 150 watt amp that can be seen in one of the pics next to the inverter. There is one tweeter missing, the right rear. I don't know how or when it got knocked out, someone probably hit it during one of the tailgating parties. We never found it.
* I had a single 12" Woofer box made that is MDF on all sides except the back that is fiberglass and 3D formed to the shape of the panel it's bolted to. This gives it the most possible air space. I'm including the box, but NOT the woofer OR the amp that was once in it. I also left the power line from the battery and RCA's from the head unit in place which are coiled up under the rear bench seat if you decide to use them.
*** There is some spots of rust that have been there for years now and don't seem to be spreading. On the front of the roof, on the back center roof where I used to have a CB antenna mounted and on the passenger side far rear window where the water drain is in the bottom left corner. ALL this can be clearly seen in the pics I've included. Again, if you have any questions, just ask.

That's just about all I can think of now. Please review the payment terms tab and also make note that You, the buyer, are responsible to pick up or provide shipping if you are too far away to come get it.

Thanks for looking, Good Luck, and Happy Bidding.

The Hemi deserves to die | Opinion

Thu, Apr 14 2022

Hi. I'm Byron and I love V8s. I want them to stick around for a long, long time. But not all V8s are created equal, and I will not mourn the passing of the modern Hemi. You shouldn't either. While we may agree that its death is untimely, if you ask me, that's only because it came far too late.  Stellantis’ announcement of its new, turbocharged inline-six that is all but guaranteed to kill off the Hemi V8 has led to quite a few half-baked internet takes. The notion being suggested by some, that automotive media were brainwashed into believing the Hemi was in need of replacement, is so far divorced from reality that I openly guffawed at the notion. Journalists have been challenging Chrysler, FCA and now Stellantis for years to deliver better high-performance engines. The response has always been the same: “Why?” Why replace a heavy V8 with a lighter, all-aluminum one? Why repackage powertrains for smaller footprints and better handling vehicles? Why be better when “good enough” sells really, really well? I too mourn the departure of good gasoline-burning engines, but since when was the Hemi one? HereÂ’s a quiz: Name every SRT model with an all-aluminum engine. TimeÂ’s up. If you named any, you failed. They donÂ’t exist. This isnÂ’t GMÂ’s compact, lightweight small-block, nor is it a DOHC Ford Coyote that at least revs high enough to justify its larger footprint. The Hemi is an overweight marketing exercise that happened to be in the right place at the right time. That time was 2003, when Chrysler was still Chrysler — except it was Daimler-Chrysler and the "merger of equals" was doing a bang-up job of bleeding the company's cash reserves dry while doing virtually nothing to address its mounting legacy costs. "That thang got a Hemi?" was emblematic of the whimsical, nostalgia-driven marketing of the colonial half of the "marriage made in heaven." That was 20 years ago. 20 years prior to that, emissions-choked American V8s were circling the drain faster than a soapy five-carat engagement ring in a truck stop sink.

Jeep in St. Louis hacked from Pittsburgh

Tue, Jul 21 2015

One of America's most popular vehicles contains a security flaw that allows hackers to remotely commandeer it from anywhere on the planet. Cyber-security researchers Chris Valasek and Charlie Miller say they've accessed critical vehicle controls on a 2014 Jeep Cherokee that allowed them to remotely control critical vehicle functions like braking, transmission function, and steering. Automakers have downplayed the possibility a car could be remotely compromised, but the significance of the findings detailed Tuesday could cause them to reevaluate the threats posed to hundreds of thousands of vehicles already on the road. A key finding – the pair needed no physical access to the Jeep to pull off the attack. Valasek and Miller accessed the controls via a security hole in the Sprint cellular connection to Chrysler's UConnect infotainment system. In the course of their research, Valasek sat in his Pittsburgh home and remotely manipulated Miller's Jeep as he drove along a highway outside St. Louis. If you know a car's IP address, they say, a hacker could control it from anywhere. "We didn't add anything, didn't touch it," Valasek told Autoblog. "A customer could drive one of these things off a lot, and they'd have no clue it had these open attack surfaces." Remotely, he disabled brakes, turned the radio volume up, engaged windshield wipers and tampered with the transmission. Further, they could conduct surveillance on the Jeep, measuring its speed and tracking its whereabouts. They conducted the experiments over multiple breaches. They made their findings public on the same day the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the federal agency in charge of vehicle safety, released its latest report on the readiness of government and automakers to fend off these sorts of cyber attacks. Later today, two US Senators are expected to introduce legislation that would help consumers better understand the potential risks of car hacking. In the early stages of their research, Valasek and Miller found a security flaw in the car's wi-fi that allowed them to remotely manipulate controls from a range of about three feet. But in recent months, they found another vulnerability in the Sprint cellular connection in the UConnect system. That was a key breakthrough. "Lo and behold, we found we could communicate with this thing using cellular, and then more research, and 'Holy cow,' we're using the Sprint network to communicate with these vehicles," Valasek said.

Jeep Wrangler Dragon Edition coming to North America

Thu, 12 Sep 2013

If 2012 was the year of the dragon in China, perhaps the US can claim 2014. After showing the Jeep Wrangler Dragon Design Concept at the 2012 Beijing Motor Show, and apparently receiving "tremendously positive feedback" from Jeep enthusiasts across the globe, the automaker has decided to introduce a production version that will hit US showrooms this fall with a price of $36,095.
"The dragon symbolizes strength and power and is an aspirational character normally associated with royalty and good fortune," says Jeep, and that apparently equates to a blacked-out Wrangler Unlimited with bronze satin gloss highlights inside and out, along with big dragon decals that start on the hood and run down the fenders. There are 18-inch matte black wheels with a bronze outer edges, and a dragon-emblazoned spare tire cover completes the look.
We suggest you peruse the high-res image gallery above to see all the black and bronze detailing yourself, and make special note of the interior. In related news, all 2014 Jeep Wrangler models get an optional Trail Kit and clear park lamps to replace the previous amber units. New colors include Amp'd, Anvil, Copperhead, Flame Red, Granite Crystal and Hydro Blue (Freedom edition only), which join carryover colors Billet Silver, Bright White, Black and Dune.
