1992 Jeep Cherokee Limited 4X4. Bought new in Cave Creek, AZ and lived in Arizona until 2007. It came to Wisconsin in 2007 with 73,000 miles on it. It had 90,000 miles on it late 2007 and has just under 96,000 miles today. So it has been driven less than 6,000 miles over the past 6 years. It is my understanding that when it came to Wisconsin it was used as a summer driver and garage kept when not in use while the owners wintered back on Arizona. The original body and paint are very nice, no damage and no rust. Mechanically very nice as well, motor runs smooth and quiet with no visble leaks or smoke. it drives great in town and on the freeway. All power accessories are working, radio, wipers, wiper washer, rear wiper, head lights, back up lights, brake lights, blinkers, power seats, power mirrors, power windows, all guages, everything!! Even the power antenna goes up and down! Interior is very nice showing normal wear. No holes in leather or carpets. Floor mats are included. The vehicle also comes with a towing package, remote openers, alarm system and cupholders I just ordered and installed. See pictures for details. I bought this Jeep on 11/07/2013 at 94,995 mile on it on EBay for $5,600.00. To see my purchase look at completed 1992 Jeep Cherokee listings on EBay (item number 251370281296). Since purchasing the Jeep on 11/7 I have put new brakes and rotors on the front, new struts to hold up the rear window, a new battery, four new P225/70R15 Hankook tires for $416.00 (the old ones only had 17,000 miles on them but they were 17 years old and had flat spots from the vehicle sitting in the garage all winter), and most importantly I had the air conditioning retrofitted to R134a on 11/13/2013 and it blows ice cold. Between the above and the State of Wisconsin licensing fee of $75.00 and the 5.5% State of WI sales tax I now very close to $7,000.00 in the Jeep. So why am I selling it? Because it is not big enough for the "stuff" I want to haul around. I should have checked out the cargo room and the overall size before I bought it but I did not. I need something the size of a Tahoe or Suburban so I have decided to cut my losses and sell the Jeep. My loss can be your gain as I am sure I am not going to get the money out I have in it. The vehicle is accident free and in really great shape so take advantage of my stupidity this Holiday season! If you have any questions email me or call me before bidding at 262-617-1953. Please do not bid unless you plan to pay for and pick up the vehicle within two weeks. $1,000.00 will be due within 48 hours of auction end with the balance due before pick up or shipment. If you do need to ship the vehicle I will be happy to work with you. |

Feds fretting over remote hack of Jeep Cherokee
Fri, Jul 24 2015A cyber-security gap that allowed for the remote hacking of a Jeep Cherokee has federal officials concerned. An associate administrator with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said Thursday that news of the breach conducted by researchers Chris Valasek and Charlie Miller had "floated around the entire federal government." "The Homeland Security folks sent out broadcasts that, 'Here's an issue that needs to be addressed,'" said Nathaniel Beuse, an associate administrator with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Valasek and Miller commandeered remote control of the Cherokee through a security flaw in the cellular connection to the car's Uconnect infotainment system. From his Pittsburgh home, Valasek manipulated critical safety inputs, such as transmission function, on Miller's Jeep as he drove along a highway near St. Louis, MO. The scope of the remote breach is believed to be the first of its kind. The prominent cyber-security researchers needed no prior access to the vehicle to perform the hack, and the scope of the remote breach is believed to be the first of its kind. A NHTSA spokesperson said the agency's cyber-security staff members are "putting their expertise to work assessing this threat and the response, and we will take action if we determine it's necessary to protect safety." A Homeland Security spokesperson referred questions about the hack to Chrysler. Fiat Chrysler Automobiles has already been the subject of a federal hearing this month, in which officials scrutinized whether the company had adequately fixed recalled vehicles and repeatedly failed to notify the government about defects. But cyber-security concerns are a new and different species for the regulatory agency. Only hours before the Jeep hack was announced by Wired magazine earlier this week, NHTSA administrator Dr. Mark Rosekind said hacking vulnerabilities were a threat to privacy, safety, and the public's trust with new connected and autonomous technologies that allow vehicles to communicate. NHTSA outlined its response to the cyber-security challenges facing the industry in a report issued Tuesday. In it, the agency summarized its best practices for thwarting attacks and said it will analyze possible real-time infiltration responses. But the agency's ability to handle hackers may only go so far.
Jeep Wrangler by Vilner takes extreme luxury off-road
Mon, 20 Jan 2014Vilner turned its customary and intensely luxurious attentions to a two-door Jeep Wrangler Sahara Unlimited back in 2012, following that up this year with its take on the four-door version. A coat of lustrous black paint outside is brightened up LED headlights, foglights and taillights and layers of chrome laid on the grille, mirrors, door handles and fuel filler cap.
Stance gets an injection of brawn from the 20-inch wheels, and they'll roll faster thanks to the power upgrade from 197 horsepower and 339 pound-feet of torque in the 2.8-liter diesel to 257 hp and 412 lb-ft.
Inside is furious red, with cross-stitched crimson leather and Alcantara demanding your focus. When you can look away from that, you'll find the raw metal parts painted black and again ornamented in minor applications of chrome. Feel free to feast on it in the high-res gallery above.
FCA plotting larger Jeep Renegade, Fiat 500XL
Mon, Mar 23 2015The joint development of the new Jeep Renegade and Fiat 500X goes to show what the combined efforts of the Fiat Chrysler Automobiles group can yield. But don't expect the Italian-American automaker to stop there. According to Autocar, the company is planning to base another pair of larger SUVs on the same platform. The Jeep version would take the place of the previous Compass and Patriot, slotting in between the Renegade and Cherokee. Meanwhile, the Fiat version would further bolster the Cinquecento lineup to sit alongside the 500 hatchback, 500L minivan and 500X crossover. Details remain few and far between at the moment, but they wouldn't be the extent of the growth plans for either brand. Jeep is reportedly zeroing in on a decision on the long-rumored sub-Renegade model, while also preparing to expand up-market with the return of the Grand Wagoneer. Fiat is reportedly abandoning the prospect of offering a full model line as it once did. While the 500 range will continue to form a vital part of the brand's business, it's also tipped to be going after the no-frills, bare-bones market dominated by Renault's Dacia brand. To that end, it would seek to build upon the Panda by offering a larger, but still low-cost hatchback to rival the Ford Focus and VW Golf, and succeed the discontinued Fiat Bravo, but based on the 500L's platform and built in Turkey to keep costs down. This second pillar of the Fiat brand wouldn't likely be offered in the US, however, where we'd expect the 500 line to continue representing the Italian automaker. Related Video:
