Over $110,00 invested out of pocket in this fully custom Jeep JK. This Jeep is not only a trail king, it is built with all the comforts of a daily driver.

For answers to questions not covered here, as well as to find out what it would take for JeepWorks to build you your very own JKL, Call Eric at Four Eight Zero - 221 - 943 nine

Clean and clear title in hand. The ENTIRE build was completed 1.5 years ago so everything is practically BRAND NEW!! Literally only 5,000 miles on the build - motor, body, axles, suspension, seats...EVERYTHING!

No one can argue that Jeep hit a home run back in 2007 with the release of the current body style Jeep Wrangler JK. But fast forward 7 years since its release, and many Jeep enthusiasts who don't have a need for the 116" wheelbase of the Unlimited model, still wished that their 2-dr JK had a little more room for day to day use as well as more stability out on the trail. In fact, from 2004 -- 2006, Jeep did in fact manufacture a longer TJ model, called the LJ, which had a 10" extended wheelbase over the standard 93.4" TJ. When you added the Rubicon package to this new LJ, you created an off-the-shelf trail machine that soared in popularity and ultimately influenced the design of today's 4-dr Unlimited JK. We can't necessarily force Jeep to go back and give us a modern day version of the LJ, but we can learn from its success & trail worthiness.

Behold the JKL, an exclusive design from Jeep Works, formerly Kustom Koachworks out of Tempe Arizona, which answers the call for a stretched JK that's more trail nimble than the long Unlimited JK, but with more cargo room than a short 2-dr JK.

The secret to Jeep Works' JKL is a custom 10" wheelbase stretch that involves more than just the appearance of longer exterior body panels. In fact, using their 25+ years of automotive expertise, Jeep Works designed a solution that begins with lengthening the factory 2-dr JK frame in precisely the right spot, using OEM techniques and frame components. From there, they performed exterior and interior body panel modifications that seamlessly tied the stretched frame together with the revised Jeep tub. In the end, the result is a 2-dr JK with a 108" wheelbase.

If you're asking yourself, "I think I have seen this before?", then you're right! Jeep Works was the brains and muscle behind the popular orange "Stomper" Jeep build, which was a well deserved reward for a courageous man who used his 2-dr JK to help rescue victims of the 2013 Oklahoma Tornadoes. In fact, the inspiration for Stomper came from the original Jeep Works JKL design, called "Orange Krush". To add credibility to the worthiness of the stretched JKL concept, Poison Spyder Customs of California, used a Jeep works JKL kit to enhance the off-road abilities of their 2014 King of Hammers race Jeep, called "Crispy".

You can follow the JKL build photos of both Stomper and Crispy here - http://jklwrangler.com/author/jklwrangler/

If these two JKL builds inspired you to want to pursue having Jeep Works build you your own JKL, then wait no longer. In fact, don't wait at all! The original Orange Krush JKL is now available for immediate sale and delivery.

Doetsch Off-Road is the exclusive marketer of the Orange Krush JKL Jeep; with its fire breathing 425hp HEMI equipped motor, Rock Krawler long-arm suspension system with remote reservoir coil-overs, Poison Spyder Custom hi-clearance bumpers and River Raider steel body armor. But it doesn't stop there, with over $110,000 invested; Orange Krush is THE Jeep to help you crawl over the competition without skipping a beat.

Orange Krush has been featured in several popular publications such as Peterson's 4Wheel & Off-Road, as well as at major events like Easter Jeep Safari, the King of Hammers and Off-Road Expo. It has been used as a promotional display vehicle for Rock Krawler Suspensions, Magnaflow Exhaust and of course, Jeep Works. It has always been transported with care and was kept indoors while in storage. Remember, there is over $110,000 invested in this build and all parts and accessories were chosen with a purpose.

Please don't be fooled by other "high end" builds that showcase fancy specs that use great brands, but entry level options.

Orange Krush isn't just a show queen that will win you 1st place show awards; it is also a highly capable Jeep Rubicon that will tackle any trail you point it at!

Please read through the entire description to see the many details that went into this build and why when you compare it to similarly priced Jeeps, there really is no comparison on the depth of options or quality of components.

Before its enhancements from Jeep Works, Orange Krush started life as a damage-free, well-equipped 2-dr JK Rubicon. Today, with only 5,000 miles on the entire build (including the 5.7L HEMI motor), you cannot replicate the build quality or level of detail for the price we are asking.

Besides the feature rich Rubicon package, Orange Krush features a select number of additional factory options to ensure you would drive in comfort with modern styling. This included:
- Automatic Transmission
- Air Conditioning
-Beefy next generation Dana 44 axles front AND rear (further enhanced as described below)
-Command-Trac 4WD System splits torque 50/50 to the front and rear axles for off-roading conditions where more traction is required. The main case joint is clamped by 18 bolts for added structural stiffness
-Roc-Trac 4WD System with 4:1 low gear ratio and crawl speeds
-Tru-Lok electronic locking differentials front AND rear allows you to engage one or both axles with a simple push of a button on the dash -- no climbing out to engage manual hubs
-Rubicon Electronic front sway-bar disconnect system allows you to engage or disengage the front sway-bar by simply pushing a button on the dash, so no pins to pull and put back
-Mopar OEM half-doors with soft upper windows
Now for the aftermarket options which total nearly $86,000 including the time & labor to install them!! A full build list which includes part numbers is available to interested buyers.

CUSTOM PAINT, BEDLINER & SOFT TOP OPTIONS: CARIZMA SERIES PAINT, BESTOP FLEXIBILITY

-One of the most stand out features of Orange Krush, besides the obvious stretched wheelbase, is its BASF Carizma series paint, called Intense Orange. This isn't just a simple paint job, it was a complete color change. Every body panel on the entire Jeep was meticulously removed and painted to ensure the color looked like it was applied at the factory, only better. This included the entire tub, inside the body panels, the roll cage, under the carpet (even under the spray in bedliner), fender wells -- you name it!

-Even though Orange Krush is 10" longer than any of its siblings, you wouldn't be able to tell that the custom soft top wasn't produced as a factory option. Starting with a Bestop Trextop NX which features a bowless design, the entire 2-dr soft top was professionally lengthened in order to ensure the Jeep maintained a climate controlled interior. But it didn't stop there since its inevitable for the top to be removed in order to enjoy the weather -- a Bestop bikini top, rear cargo duster cover and wrap around windjammer were also customized so that there is complete flexibility after you remove the top and take off for the trail.

-Will you forget to replace the soft top during a rainstorm or will the interior of Orange Krush get dirty from everyday use? YES! But we thought of that. The entire rear cargo section of the interior body tub has been sprayed in a durable black Inyati spray-in-bedliner finish. Just imply hose the Jeep out without worry of moldy carpet or the chance of rust.

PERFORMANCE UPGRADES: HEMI ENGINE, COLD AIR INTAKE, STAINLESS EXHAUST, VENTED HOOD & HD BATTERY

-Full HEMI motor swap! This included a 425 horsepower 5.7L HEMI Engine and 545RFE Automatic transmission that barely had 6 miles on them before being transplanted into Orange Krush. The entire motor swap was performed by V8HJ, which is famous for their quality engine conversions and performance tunes. The motor also features a high torq cam and push rods, as well as stainless steel ceramic coated (to help dissipate heat) long tube headers.

-To help the HEMI breath to its full potential, a custom cold air intake with cleanable filter was custom installed. A smoked lexan maintenance panel ensures the intake looks as good as it functions, while helping you keep the filter clean and accessible.

-The exhaust wasn't left alone either and features a custom 3" stainless pipe (will never rust!) from the headers back, ending with a hi-performance Magnaflow muffler. The sound is unbelievable and absolutely ensures the HEMI makes its presence known without being obnoxious.

-Diablo Sport hand held programmer, used to recalibrate the speedometer from the engine, gear ratio and tire size changes, can also be used to perform other functions. Easily stores in the center console or glove box so you can make changes on the go.

-AEV Heat Reduction Vented Hood. The best Jeep JK aftermarket hood option has 2 large steel mesh covered vents at the front sides of the hood where engine heat builds up, as well as a large center vent, allowing additional heat to escape and keep your engine cool. The hood is held down to the body thanks to a pair of Drake Off-Road billet hood hold downs which are fully adjustable and kill any chance of the notorious JK hood flutter.

-Optima Red Top 8002 Heavy Duty Maintenance Free Battery that has a typical 6-8 year service life.
DRIVETRAIN UPGRADES: GEARS, DRIVESHAFTS & DRIVETRAIN UPGRADES

-Yukon 5.13 ratio gears front AND rear which restore the Jeep's power after the larger tires were installed

-RCV CV Style front Axle Shafts eliminate binding and the weak u-joints found on factory axle shafts

-Superior 32 spline rear axle shafts also help resist breakage and ensure you get back off the trail and home safely

-Tom Woods 1310 custom front AND rear driveshafts that were made to the exact specs of Orange Krush. No worries of drive shafts that are too short or that will bind when off-road

-Reid Racing high steer knuckles raises the steering linkage and increases the strength of the steering system, while keeping it out of harm's way on the trail

-Solid brand front AND rear Heavy Duty 3/8" differential covers to allow you to glide over rocks and other obstacles without worry that the factory 1/4 " diff covers will puncture

-TeraFlex axle housing sleeves and C-gussets help resist the axle from bending under load

SUSPENSION LIFT UPGRADES: COMPLETE LONG ARM SUSPENSION SYSTEM & REMOTE RESEVOIR COIL OVER SHOCKS

-First of all this is not a simple bolt-on "lift kit", it is a complete all inclusive Suspension System. There is a reason it takes an invested amout of labor to install it! But once installed, you can literally set it and forget it. The heart is a Rock Krawler 3.5" X Factor Long Arm Suspension System that features a rear axle 3" stretch. Don't settle for a short or mid-arm kit that may only replace the springs or that use fixed length control arms which cannot be adjusted. The Rock Krawler system is ALL INCLUSIVE with its steering geometry engineered to provide you with stock on-highway handling characteristics, as well as a revolutionary 3-link conversion front and rear for high articulation while maintaining precise control. Additional upgraded suspension components include a double adjustable front and rear track bar made from 1.5" solid alloy steel, high clearance adjustable control arms made from 2" solid alloy steel, a welded on rear axle cradle, long travel stainless brake lines and a heavy duty drag link assembly.

-Further suspension upgrades include Synergy HD ball joints, front track bar brace, chromolly tie rod and a Rubicon sway bar motor relocation kit. A Currie rear coil spring retainer kit also helps keep the suspension where it needs to be, under the Jeep.

-Rock Krawler 2.625 Remote Reservoir Coil Over Shocks in the front and 2.0 Remote Reservoir Shocks in the rear ensure that Orange Krush glides over obstacles with ease, while still providing a better than factory on-road ride.

-PSC Motorsports Hydro Assist Steering helps keep the 37" tires grounded and able to turn over the best obstacles.

TIRE AND WHEEL UPGRADE: KEVLAR TIRES, BEADLOCK WHEELS AND ON-BOARD AIR

-Five (matching spare) Goodyear Wrangler MTR tires in 37x12.50R17 ensure you will be able to climb over any obstacles that you point Orange Krush at.

-There's also five 17" Raceline Monster 233 beadlock wheels with Powertank Monster valves at each corner, making sure the process of airing up/down for the trail is effortless and that the tire won't unseat from the wheel (thanks to the beadlocks) if you decide to lower the pressure to single digits.

-A 10lb Powertank, custom matched to the Intense Orange paint, is standing by and custom mounted in billet clamps and brackets behind the passenger seat so that you can fill the tires back up after a long day rock crawling or to fire up power tools while out on the trail.

LIGHTING UPGRADES: LED LIGHTING PACKAGE INCLUDING A 50" LIGHT BAR & TAILLIGHTS

-NO birds nest of wires under Orange Krush's hood! All of the wiring is professionally routed and loomed to resist overheating or abrasion.

-There's a Baja Designs 50" LED Stealth Bar mounted on the upper windshield, which provides over 17,500 Lumens. You simply turn it on with a labeled OTRATTW switch on the upper dash.

-Frenched into the custom River Raider steel corner panels is a pair of smoked ORO LED LiteDots which function as hi-powered LED taillights and reverse lights.

BUMPER UPGRADES: COMPLETE AFTERMARKET BUMPER PACKAGE FROM POISON SPYDER

-A grille width Poison Spyder Customs Brawler Lite front bumper with Brawler Bar is formed from 3/16" plate steel, CNC laser cut and precision brake-formed into a low profile, high clearance design. It won't hinder tire clearance or access to vertical obstacles.

-Just like the narrow width front bumper, the Poison Spyder BFH Rear Bumper is optimized for the best departure angle possible. Also made form 3/16" plate steel, it has custom d-ring mounts welded in, as well as a custom 2" receive hitch that was formed high and tight.

-A front mounted 15,000lb capacity Mile Marker SEC 15 winch with wireless controller, synthetic cable and a Poison Spyder aluminum Hawse fairlead, round out the bumper package and ensure recovery is quick and effortless.

PROTECTION UPGRADES: ROLL CAGE TIED INTO THE FRAME, STEEL BODY PROTECTION, FENDER FLARES & SKIDS

-This isn't a dainty bolt-in sport cage that we are dealing with folks. Orange Krush's custom roll cage, with integrated handles to assist you in getting in or out from either the driver or passenger side, is completely tied into the frame at the front & rear of the Jeep. It offers full roll-over protection and was hand built by the talented LetzRoll Offroad shop. To finish it off, the entire cage was color matched to the exterior Intense Orange paint.

-The side armor began with River Raider's rear crusher corners and rocker armor, but because Orange Krush is a custom JKL, everything was professionally lengthened to fit its dimensions. Instead of unsightly gaps in the body panels, custom filler plates were welded to the side armor within the fender wells, so that dirt and muck wouldn't find its way to a new home.

-A set of steel front and rear narrow width River Raider fender flares offer additional body protection, with the rear flares being beautifully welded to the rear steel corners so that there's no gaps for tree branches or beach sand to infiltrate.

-A pair of Poison Spyder Customs DIY Rico rocker steps pull double duty in aiding entry and exit, while offering even more crucial rocker protection. They too ware welded to the River Raider steel rocker armor.

-Off-Road Evolution EVO front control arm skid plates and rear Rockstar skids ensure the control arm and shock mounts aren't damaged during weekend rock crawling.

MISCELANOUS UPGRADES: CUSTOM BUCKET SEATING, BILLET ACCESSORIES AND AN ALUMNIMUM HI-LIFT

-A pair of Corbeau Baja XRS seats makes sure the driver and passenger ride in comfort, while showing off the color matched orange seat inserts. A full Crow seat belt harness also makes sure the off-road ride is safe; otherwise the OEM seat belts are still intact and fully functional for comfortable everyday street use.

-A complete Drake Off-Road billet accessory package improves the touch and feel of the automatic shifter handle, 4WD selector knob and e-brake handle.

-A Baja Off Road Products billet Hi-Lift jack features a weight-saving all aluminum construction, as well as a hinged base which helps it conform to the weirdest of terrain. All of which is custom mounted in un-used space on the driver's side of the rear inside body tub.

STEREO & NAVIGATION: GPS, CB, MARINE GRADE HEADUNIT AND SUBWOOFERS

-There's a Lowrance Baja Elite 5-HD Off-Road GPS (chartplotter) custom mounted in the dash where the factory head unit used to take up real estate. So getting lost is no longer an option.

-A Sony Marine grade head unit is custom mounted from harm's way, inside the center console. It performs the expected functions like CD/MP3 and also includes a Sony Marine remote control which is mounted in a cupholder within the center console, so that you can control your tunes without taking your eyes off the trail. A custom switch also allows the stereo to be powered up without turning the ignition key on.

-Since enough is never enough, a JL Audio 700 Watt marine grade amplifier is mounted nice and dry under the driver's seat and powers two pairs of Polk Audio 5.25" speakers in the dash and overhead soundbar, as well as a pair of Polk Audio 6x9 speakers custom mounted in the rear cargo area. Since bass should be seen and not heard, a pair of Pioneer 8" shallow depth subwoofers have been enclosed in a custom box where the rear cargo box once was. A smoked plexiglass lid shows off their beauty while keeping them protected.

-The Cobra 75 WX ST CB radio is one of the best in the industry and of course a fine specimen can be found mounted to the dash of Orange Krush. There's a custom CB antenna mount on the passenger side of the rear roll cage which features a quick release connector, as well as a provision for a lighted whip on the driver's side.

Stellantis will build four electric vehicles in Italy, say union reps

Wed, Jun 16 2021

MILAN — Stellantis will produce four medium-segment electric vehicles, of different brands, at its Melfi plant in southern Italy from 2024, the UILM union said on Tuesday. Since Stellantis was formed at the beginning of this year through the merger of Fiat Chrysler and France's PSA, production in Italy has been under scrutiny for costing more than elsewhere in Europe. "Stellantis announced that Melfi would be the first plant in Italy to get new models, based on post-2022 business plan," UILM said in a statement after workers' representatives met with the carmaker at Italy's industry ministry in Rome. Future production at Melfi will be based on a single enhanced production line that will merge the two existing ones, the union said, adding the restructuring will leave production capacity at the site unchanged at around 400,000 units. UILM's head, Rocco Palombella, said unions had not received all the answers they wanted as Stellantis was still working on its new business plan. "But the positive element is that the company has not absolutely called for structural redundancies," he said after the meeting. Stellantis Chief Executive Carlos Tavares has said the group would present its business plan late this year or in early 2022. Stellantis, the world's fourth-largest carmaker, gave no details about what was discussed at the meeting. In an earlier statement the company said it was working "with determination and speed" to support the energy transition of all its Italian sites. Italy's Industry minister, Giancarlo Giorgetti, however, said in a separate statement after the meeting that Stellantis had yet to decide where it would build its third electric battery plant in Europe. Stellantis, which already has two battery factory projects in France and Germany, has said adding gigafactories in Europe and the United States would be decided this year. The company is holding talks on this with Rome, as Italy is one of its main production hubs in Europe. Related video: Green Plants/Manufacturing Alfa Romeo Fiat Jeep Citroen Opel Peugeot Stellantis

The biggest gas-guzzlers of 2024: 'The Meanest List' is the opposite of greenest cars

Thu, Mar 14 2024

In some circles — especially some automotive circles — bigger is better. This explains the Hummer, for example. In its so-called “Meanest List” of a dozen models, the American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy (ACEEE) makes no apologies for berating “the worst-performing mass market automobiles” sold in 2024 in the U.S. The most diminutive car on the list is a Chevy Corvette Z06. At the top of this particular heap is the Mercedes-Benz AMG G63, a gas-powered SUV that the environmental agency says was “the worst-performing vehicle of the more than 1,200 models assessed by Greener Cars and has an annual fuel cost over $4,000.” Not to mention its MSRP of around $184,000. Rank Make & Model Powertrain Green Score MSRP Estimated Annual Fuel Cost* 1 Mercedes-Benz AMG G63 Gas 20 $184,000 $4,242 2 Ram 1500 TRX 4x4 Gas 22 $98,335 $3,819 3 Ford F150 Raptor R Gas 24 $79,975 $3,777 4 Cadillac Escalade V Gas 26 $152,295 $3,388 5 Dodge Durango SRT Gas 26 $74,995 $3,332 6 Jeep Wrangler 4dr 4X4 Gas 27 $35,895 $3,260 7 Jeep Grand Wagoneer 4x4 Gas 28 $91,945 $3,058 8 Mercedes-Benz G550 Gas 28 $143,000 $3,186 9 GMC Hummer EV SUV EV 29 $98,845 $1,746 10 GMC Sierra Gas 29 $37,700 $3,069 11 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 Gas 30 $114,395 $3,169 12 Mercedes-Benz Maybach S680 Gas 30 $234,300 $3,031 *ACEEE analysis using EIA data of the annual cost of driving 15,000 miles In terms of numbers, the dirty dozen of the meanest includes seven SUVs and three trucks. Lonely at the middle of the list is the sole electric, the GMC Hummer EV, which weighs in at 9,000 pounds. The council notes that “though EVs have lower emissions than similarly sized gasoline models, the Hummer demonstrates that size and efficiency, not just fuel source, are important factors in a carÂ’s environmental impact.” ItÂ’s also worth reminding prospective buyers that the average fuel cost of a vehicle on the “Greenest List” eats up only a fifth of the fuel cost of a vehicle on the Meanest List, “showing that greener options can also be more affordable.” The ACEEE also put out a "Greener List" of efficient gasoline and hybrid cars that don't require plugging in.  By the Numbers Green Cadillac Chevrolet Dodge Ford GMC Hummer Jeep Maybach Mercedes-Benz RAM Emissions Fuel Efficiency Green Automakers Truck SUV Electric Hybrid

2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Buying Guide | Popular SUV questions and answers

Sat, Jul 14 2018

The Jeep Grand Cherokee is several SUVs rolled into one. When equipped with the standard 3.6-liter V6, the Grand Cherokee is a refined and well-mannered sport-utility that delivers a comfortable ride, a handsome cabin, along with Jeep's legendary off-road prowess. At other end of the spectrum is the Trackhawk, a Grand Cherokee with the heart of a 707-horsepower muscle car. Powered by the same supercharged V8 found in the ferociously quick Dodge Challenger Hellcat, the Grand Cherokee Trackhawk is one of the fastest and wildest SUVs of all time. Between these extremes there are plenty of other options, including two somewhat less powerful (but still potent) choices of V8. An available air suspension not only helps to make the ride smoother, it can significantly raise the ride height for any rock-crawling moments you encounter. Here you'll find all the information needed to make an educated buying decision if you're considering a 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee, including safety and reliability ratings, engine specs, horsepower, fuel economy ratings and pricing. We'll also summarize what Autoblog's professional auto reviewers think of the Jeep Grand Cherokee. Is the 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Safe? The Jeep Grand Cherokee scores four out of a possible five stars in the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's overall crash-test rating system. The Grand Cherokee was tested in both rear- and all-wheel drive format. The two Grand Cherokee models tested earned four-star ratings in frontal impact tests, and five stars in NHTSA's side impact tests. The only difference between the two is regarding their resistance to rollover, with the rear-wheel drive Grand Cherokee scoring a three-star rating, versus four stars in the all-wheel drive model. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, which provides ratings for new vehicles based on its own comprehensive crash tests, found room for improvement when it comes to the Grand Cherokee's performance in its crash test regime. While it earned top marks in some categories – such as side impact crash tests, and front crash avoidance (when fitted with optional safety equipment) – the Grand Cherokee registered a "Marginal" and "Poor" rating for its performance in the Small Overlap Front test. This simulates a vehicle hitting a static object, such as a utility pole, with only a fraction of its front end.
