Up for sale is my personal Jeep Wrangler. This Jeep I have babied since the day I bought it about a year ago! This is truly ONE OF A KIND Jeep. Please read through my mod and feature list of this Jeep and I think you'll be impressed. I did all this work myself and all of the custom electronics and all of the custom CNC work as well. I have fun with this stuff and truly made this one special!

As you can see this is a "Oakley Edition" Wrangler. You wont ever see another one of these as I did this myself. It started with putting the Oakley decal on the hood the day I bought it, and has just become a hobby of mine making it look as if this came from factory as a "Oakley Edition" I had the seats custom embroidered with the Oakley logos, The floor mats are quadratec Ultimate floor liners with custom Orange Oakley logos in place of the quadratec logos. Jeep has custom metal Oakley badges below the trail rated badges. Has multiple custom Oakley accessories inside and out that literally scream Oakley! Truley ONE OF A KIND!

You will notice the overhead console on this Jeep right away with all of the electronics. This was custom CNC fabricated by me with starboard and acrylic all CNC routed and Laser cut. There is NO OTHER overhead console on the market for a JK Jeep with 3 radio spots, let alone 4!!! The Console is decked out with 7" GPS Navigation, Yaesu FTM-350 VHF/UHF Ham Radio, RadioShack scanner that can listen to almost any radio frequency there is, and a Cobra 29 CB Radio. If there is a jeep with a 2 way Radio, You will be able to communicate! Also built into the console is a sunglass holder, 2 universal garage door opener, Permanent inside winch control (with wireless remote), Control for motorized Go Light mounted in the back of the Jeep (also has wireless remote as well). Control for Offroad and LED Side Trail Lights, along with a wireless button to control your garage lighting. This console is TOP NOTCH and will be the envy of any Jeep enthusiast.

The Stock Stereo has been replaced with a AWESOME 7" Touchscreen and DVD Player. Also has Bluetooth handsfree Talk for your cell phone. This has built in iPod control with an included 160GB iPod that is hidden under the dash. Also has a backup camera attached. Radio sounds great and works perfectly with the steering wheel controls. The Steering wheel also has custom buttons built into the back that will control a much louder electric horn and also a radar emulator. Next to the steering wheel is a microphone for a 100watt PA Speaker/Siren. It is incredibly Loud and will get anybody's attention! On the other side of the wheel you will see a post mounted moveable spotlight. These are the same you see on Cop cars. This is also VERY Custom and was done professionally by myself. This light gives you the ability to spot whatever you need! You don't ever see these on Wranglers!

Going to the outside of the Jeep you will notice it is lifted 2.5" Suspension spacer lift with 35" BF Goodrich Mud Terrain MKIIs. These have less than 2000 miles on them and offer such a smooth ride you would think you have road tires on this thing! so quiet and awesome! The hood you will notice a black Poison Spider hood Louver and custom painted Hi-Lift Jack. The front bumper has been replaced with a awesome aftermarket bumper with a 9,500 lb winch and fog and offroad lights. The winch and lights can be controlled by both a wireless remote or the overhead console has switches as well. Also to the sides of the Jeep has aftermarket foot rails and LED side trail lights as well. Towards the back you will notice a panel on the back passenger side with air hookups and a spicket. This Jeep has ON BOARD RUNNING WATER! You can open up that spicket and get pressurized water up to 55 psi. The water is actually stored in the rear bumper and gives you approx 7.5 gallons of water ready to go. The Jeep includes a hose with nozzle. You can actually wash your Jeep with you Jeep! Great for after mudding to wash off the windsheild or to hose off yourself! Great for camping and showers! Yet another ONE OF A KIND Jeep! Where else have you seen a Jeep with running water?! The Air supply is a 2 gallon 150 PSI Viair air compressor to give you air when you need to fill your tires or run small air tools! Around the back of the Jeep you will notice a 120v AC power outlet. This is connected to a 1500/3000 watt AC/DC Power inverter! That is enough power to use a electric impact gun to remove the lugs off your tires! There is also a outlet inside the rear cargo area and inside the center console (has 1 120v Outlet and 2 USB Charger outlets). This is controlled via a button on the overhead console!

When you open the tailgate you will immediately notice the features in the back. There is a fold down table on the tailgate to give you a place to work or cook on. Mounted to that table is Oakley storage bags. In one bag is Jumper cables and in the other is a backup 400watt Power Inverter along with computer USB Cables and chargers to program you radios and to power your CF-29 Panasonic Toughbook Laptop! Yes a military grade Toughbook Laptop is also included! There is also a Battery Jumper Box included inside as well when you need to Jump your Jeep! A Pelican case with 3 hand held UHF Ham radios is also included to give you the ability to communicate with your riders or campers if they need to walk off the path for awhile! All of this is all in safe keeping under a custom made deck cover that keeps it all locked up even if your doors are off and the top is down! Plus has a extra shelf to store your side soft windows when your going topless. It keeps them safe out of the way and free of folds! Above that is an included Fire Extinguisher. Once you shut the tail gate youll notice a movable spot light. It is a GoLight and can spot anything miles away! Is controlled by a joystick on the overhead console or by a wireless remote.

Other than all of the fancy stuff here it is still a 1 year old 2012 Jeep Wrangler Sport 4-Door. It is 4WD and a 6 Speed 3.6 L Pentastar Chrysler Engine. Has less that 15,000 Miles on it and has had NO abuse. Everything is like new on this Jeep when it comes to your stock stuff by Jeep. I dont need to brag to much about all of that as you know exactly what your looking for! It is a soft top and I dont believe in Hardtops so one isnt included! LOL!

I am not sure how long I will leave this Jeep for sale. I am not desperate to sell it and may change my mind and not let it go. But I thought I would throw it out there. This Jeep has hundreds of custom CNC work and man hours into it and will be the envy of any Jeep owner! Dont underestimate what has been done to this Jeep. I am sure I have even forgotten some mods and didnt list them. If you got any questions please email me and ask!

Poor headlights cause 40 cars to miss IIHS Top Safety Pick rating

Mon, Aug 6 2018

Over the past few months, we've noticed a number of cars and SUVs that have come incredibly close to earning one of the IIHS's highest accolades, the Top Safety Pick rating. They have great crash test scores and solid automatic emergency braking and forward collision warning systems. What trips them up is headlights. That got us wondering, how many vehicles are there that are coming up short because they don't have headlights that meet the organization's criteria for an "Acceptable" or "Good" rating. This is a revision made after 2017, a year in which headlights weren't factored in for this specific award. This is also why why some vehicles, such as the Ford F-150, might have had the award last year, but have lost it for this year. We reached out to someone at IIHS to find out. He responded with the following car models. Depending on how you count, a whopping 40 models crash well enough to receive the rating, but don't get it because their headlights are either "Poor" or "Marginal." We say depending on how you count because the IIHS actual counts truck body styles differently, and the Infiniti Q70 is a special case. Apparently the version of the Q70 that has good headlights doesn't have adequate forward collision prevention technology. And the one that has good forward collision tech doesn't have good enough headlights. We've provided the entire list of vehicles below in alphabetical order. Interestingly, it seems the Volkswagen Group is having the most difficulty providing good headlights with its otherwise safe cars. It had the most models on the list at 9 split between Audi and Volkswagen. GM is next in line with 7 models. It is worth noting again that though these vehicles have subpar headlights and don't quite earn Top Safety Pick awards, that doesn't mean they're unsafe. They all score well enough in crash testing and forward collision prevention that they would get the coveted award if the lights were better.

Buy this instead of a Wrangler | 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk Review

Tue, Nov 29 2016

In our first encounter with the 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk at Fiat Chrysler's Chelsea Proving Grounds, we saluted the new model's impressive on-road demeanor. In its off-road mode, however, we couldn't ignore the pre-production throttle calibration – it was super sharp and difficult to modulate with the precision needed to navigate obstacles. We were told then that Jeep's engineers were aware of the problem and were fixing it for production models. So we recently set off for Bundy Hill Off-Road Park in Jerome, Michigan, in a production-spec Grand Cherokee Trailhawk to check their work and get a better idea of the overall package. We can report that the Trailhawk's throttle has been fixed for production, landing it properly in Goldilocks territory. In the off-road Mud setting, the throttle is soft and easy to modulate. You can balance this rig with the gas pedal, reaching just past tip-in to steadily prod forward. But the gas pedal doesn't delay when you really need power. Move beyond the initial tip-in, and the engine responds quickly, which is a good thing, as a sluggish throttle is almost as dangerous off-road as one that's too sharp. Rock mode promises even more precise control over the throttle, although our lack of a spotter and a desire to avoid damaging the 700-mile-young Trailhawk kept us from hitting Bundy Hill's rockier sections. The wet, non-snowy weather meant we didn't properly test Snow or Sand mode. This test model was equipped with FCA's popular 3.6-liter V6, but like the rest of the Grand Cherokee range, more power is available from the 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V6 and the 5.7-liter Hemi V8. You don't need them – the 3.6-liter and eight-speed automatic are perfectly fine on the trails. Faced with an incline, the transmission holds its gear without complaint – you don't even need to switch into manual mode. Despite the 4,800-rpm torque peak, the V6's 260 pound-feet arrive early enough that you don't need to strong-arm the throttle. So that's resolution for the pre-production issue. But our time at Bundy Hill exposed a different and ultimately much easier to fix problem for the production model. Late fall in Michigan is not always a good time to go off-road – sub-40-degree temperatures and a steady, depressing drizzle can turn a relatively simple trail into a slippery mess of wet clay. Conditions like these can easily overwhelm an on-road tire like the Goodyear All-Terrain Adventures the Trailhawk uses.

The Jeep Wrangler is finally getting modern headlights for 2017

Thu, Sep 1 2016

Some of Jeep's headlights leave a lot to be desired – namely light output. In particular, the halogen lamps on the Wrangler and Cherokee have been called out by the IIHS as among the worst on the market. Things should improve for 2017, as Jeep is addressing the sorry illumination by adding LED or HID headlight options for the Wrangler, Cherokee, and Renegade. Thank heavens (or, you know, the IIHS for upping its lighting requirements). In the Wrangler's case, the decision to develop an LED for a single model year of the JK before its replacement arrives – or two if you count the extended run of the current model alongside the new one – might seem strange, but we aren't complaining. The current headlights are one retro cue that sorely needed eradicating, plus this almost guarantees LEDs for the next-gen model. Any 2017 Wrangler can be equipped with the new LED headlights and fog lights – the LED lighting group will be optional on the Sport and Sport S, and standard on Sahara and Rubicon. The Cherokee is a slightly different story – HID headlights are currently optional on that model's Limited and High Altitude trims and standard on the range-topping Overland. Next year, the brighter, more focused lamps will be standard on everything but the base Sport model, where they'll be optional. For the wee Renegade, meanwhile, HIDs are a "late availability" option as part of the safety and security group on Latitude, Limited, and Trailhawk trim levels. If you want a 2017 Renegade Sport with the better lights, though, you're out of luck. Jeep hasn't announced pricing for its 2017 offerings, so we don't know what sort of premium the LED and HID headlamps will add. We just know that whatever the price, it will be worth it. And you can bet each unit will have some sort of Easter egg Jeep design detail on it.
