2012 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon. This is the top of the line Jeep model for 2012 and has every single option available for 2012. It is the perfect all around vehicle - a convertible in the summer, a 4x4 in the winter, and a 4-door to haul around kids or friends. The only think it's lacking is a big 400hp hemi engine and then you can hit the track. The 285hp pentastar does just fine and the 5 spd auto is a huge improvement over the previous 4 spd auto in the 2007-2011 Jk's. Cosmetically the vehicle is in great shape. It has the color matched hardtop and fenders. The hardtop color matched is a cool option. The matched fenders look really nice but the only drawback is that they are painted so they are more susceptible to getting scratched vs the unpainted black ones. Given the drawback I would still go for the painted ones. The interior is in perfect condition. Leather heated seats, front and side airbags are 490 option. It has navi, bluetooth phone, and the larger hard drive for uploading MP3's. It also has a set of ACE rock rails which is a big help for shorter people. It has 33.5" nitto terra grappler tires which are a lot more comfortable and handle better than the stock 32" BFG mud terrains - they have 2000 miles on them. With the 4.10 gears the jeep is at 2600 RPM's on the highway which is the sweet spot for good gas mileage - the larger tires increased the gas mileage on average by 1.5 MPG. It has the towing package and a front tow hitch in case you want to hook up a hitch but not mount it permanently. If you're looking at this ad I would assume you are familiar with the Rubicon - heavy duty dana 44 axles, electronic front sway bar disconnect, front and rear electronic lockers, and a low ratio transfer case. All great options for a serious offroader or a hurricane sandy escape vehicle - in all honesty for my use I tried the lockers once in the snow and maybe put it in 4wd a total of 5 times. I'm not a big offroader and used this more to lug around my kids. With a 3rd child I'm looking to upgrade to a larger SUV which is the main motivation for selling it. The title is free and clear and in my name. Please feel free to ask any questions or come and schedule a test drive and look at it. It has ben dealer maintained and is a very clean well kept Jeep. 2018 Jeep Wrangler four-cylinder could be incredibly potent

Fri, Oct 6 2017

Update: We hear the 368-hp rating in the NHTSA documents isn't accurate. The story has been modified to reflect that. Update 2: The document has been removed from NHTSA's website. We already knew that the next-generation Jeep Wrangler would offer two engines this time around, a V6 and a new turbocharged four-cylinder. Documentation from FCA to NHTSA that JL Wrangler Forums discovered suggests the V6 will become the entry-level engine with the same 285 horsepower as the current one, while the turbo 2.0-liter inline-four takes the top spot with 368 horsepower. However, we're now hearing that figure isn't accurate. That's an all-around impressive four-cylinder – and obviously likely too good to be true. Besides making about 80 more horsepower than its bigger V6 cousin, it would also be the second most powerful four-cylinder available in the United States. It would only be 7 horsepower shy of the current four-pot power champ, the Mercedes-Benz CLA45, which makes 375 horsepower. It's also 18 horsepower ahead of the next closest engine, the turbo four in the Focus RS that makes 350 horsepower. If you do decide to pick up a 2018 Wrangler with the four-cylinder, you'll have to settle for an automatic transmission. Only the V6 will be available with both an automatic and manual transmission. Both engines should be available at launch, which we expect to come shortly after an expected reveal at the Los Angeles auto show. The FCA documentation also suggests that the four-door model will be the first body style available, with the two-door arriving slightly later. Best car infotainment systems: From UConnect to MBUX, these are our favorites

Sun, Jan 7 2024

Declaring one infotainment system the best over any other is an inherently subjective matter. You can look at quantitative testing for things like input response time and various screen load times, but ask a room full of people that have tried all car infotainment systems what their favorite is, and you’re likely to get a lot of different responses. For the most part, the various infotainment systems available all share a similar purpose. They aim to help the driver get where they're going with navigation, play their favorite tunes via all sorts of media playback options and allow folks to stay connected with others via phone connectivity. Of course, most go way beyond the basics these days and offer features like streaming services, in-car performance data and much more. Unique features are aplenty when you start diving through menus, but how they go about their most important tasks vary widely. Some of our editors prefer systems that are exclusively touch-based and chock full of boundary-pushing features. Others may prefer a back-to-basics non-touch system that is navigable via a scroll wheel. You can compare it to the phone operating system wars. Just like some prefer Android phones over iPhones, we all have our own opinions for what makes up the best infotainment interface. All that said, our combined experience tells us that a number of infotainment systems are at least better than the rest. WeÂ’ve narrowed it down to five total systems in their own subcategories that stand out to us. Read on below to see our picks, and feel free to make your own arguments in the comments. Best infotainment overall: UConnect 5, various Stellantis products Ram 1500 Uconnect Infotainment System Review If thereÂ’s one infotainment system that all of us agree is excellent, itÂ’s UConnect. It has numerous qualities that make it great, but above all else, UConnect is simple and straightforward to use. Ease of operation is one of the most (if not the single most) vital parts of any infotainment system interface. If youÂ’re expected to be able to tap away on a touchscreen while driving and still pay attention to the road, a complex infotainment system is going to remove your attention from the number one task at hand: driving. UConnect uses a simple interface that puts all of your key functions in a clearly-represented row on the bottom of the screen. Tap any of them, and it instantly pulls up that menu.

Sunday Drive: Trucks and SUVs of all shapes and sizes

Sun, Nov 5 2017

The American automotive marketplace is dominated by trucks and SUVs, and so was the last week of coverage on Autoblog. By far, the most popular story of the week was our First Drive of the 2018 Lincoln Navigator. It may look like an old-school lumberer, but in reality Lincoln's flagship is a thoroughly modern, turbocharged-V6-powered, three-row, luxury people mover. The Jeep Wrangler is the world's most recognizable vehicle. So it's no surprise that the next version looks a whole heck of a lot like the last one, and the one before. It's all in the details, which is why we were so excited when Jeep decided to unleash a trio of images showing both two- and four-door Wranglers for us to dissect ahead of the SUV's official debut at the L.A. Auto Show later this year. Past that, spy photos of the next Chevy Silverado and Ram 1500 were predictably popular. See both of those below, and the cap it all off, check out the entire week's worth of SEMA coverage – including the bonkers Hennessey VelociRaptor 6x6 – in our mega image gallery at the bottom of this post. Enjoy! As always, tune in to Autoblog next week for a front-row seat to all the happenings worth following in the automotive industry. 2018 Lincoln Navigator First Drive | From black sheep to flagship 2018 Jeep Wrangler revealed: First photos released before L.A.
