This is my very clean, 2003 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon in Khaki Metallic color.  Manual transmission.  Only 49k miles.  Never abused or off roaded.  I didn't want to risk breaking it or tearing anything up wheeling it until I paid it off.  I just paid it off and I am on the road for work now, rarely home so I am selling it for a highway car.  Thousands and thousands invested.

This weekend I took it in, had a fresh oil change and full vehicle inspection done at Mike Raisor dealership, I will attach a photo of the inspection check list.  They inspect entire vehicle front to back top to bottom on all mechanicals etc and gave it 100% clean bill of health.  Mechanically sound and ready to drive anywhere.

I will try to list the upgrades off the top of my head, may be forgetting some things.

Rubicon Express 4" short arm lift ($1200.00)

4:56 gears front and rear installed professionally with correct speedo gear, for correct gearing with larger tires(acts equivalent to stock gears with stock tires)
($1000.00 parts/labor)

Pro Comp aluminum simulated beadlock wheels(all 5)-i currently have the bead rings off, they were chipping and i pulled them off to repaint them but i think they look better off anyway...still have all 5 with all hardware to go with it ($1000.00)

All 5 brand new 35x12.50 BFG KM2 tires, less than 1000mi on them.(Just cost me $1500.00)

Safari Gard aftermarket tubular front and rear bumpers with swing out tire rack and receiver ($1000.00)

Smoked marker lights

Hella aftermarket off road lights on front bumper ($200.00)

Metal rocker guards/rock sliders...freshly stripped to bare metal and painted(professionally done by body shop) ($300.00)

Warn winch(never even unrolled) ($800.00)

Bestop 2 pc hard top ($2000.00, plus $350 oversize shipping new, there is a pic in listing showing the price of the top)

Aftermarket high clearance fender flares with LED side lights ($500.00)

Full metal doors

Xm radio equipped

Aftermarket cd player (also have working original factory head unit cd player that goes with it)

Kicker sub in console (replaced original sub)

Jeep brand rear secure storage compartment (cost $200)

Clean title in hand, buyer takes it free and clear no lien.

Feel free to call or text with any questions regarding the Jeep. (seven six five) two three seven-seven eight five eight.  Its one of the nicest and cleanest Jeeps around.  If I get another, I will get one that is already beat up so I don't have to worry about tearing up one as nice as this one.  I take great care of all my vehicles.  I own classic cars as well, and this Jeep is as nice as my show cars and receives just as many, if not more compliments.

Jeep's 75th Anniversary Wrangler Salute rolls down the line

Fri, Jul 15 2016

UPDATE: The commemorative 75th Anniversary Jeep Wrangler rolled down the assembly line in Toledo, Ohio today. With its roll bar, doors, and rear seat removed, it really does pay fitting tribute to the classic Willy military models of the past. The 419 area code stenciled on the bumper and date on the hood look period appropriate. Well done, Jeep. This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings. It's difficult to pinpoint exactly when the Jeep Wrangler was born, but the automaker claims the legendary off-roader as we know it today was officially created in 1941. On July 15th of that year, the US Government awarded Willys-Overland with a contract to build the Willys MB, which quickly got the nickname "jeep". To commemorate its 75th anniversary, Jeep has created a WWII-themed Wrangler that pays homage to the Willys MB. The gorgeous concept most likely won't see the road, which is a shame as the rugged one-off yanks at the heartstrings of truck enthusiasts and historians alike. Based on of the current Wrangler Sport, the olive-drab Wrangler 75th Salute concept imitates the original Willys MB to the tee. The concept has no B-pillars, no doors, no roll bars and honors the "function over form" styling of the original military vehicle. The concept rides on 16-inch steel wheels that are wrapped in 32-inch non-directional tires and features vintage-looking hood latches, steel front and rear bumpers with tow hooks, and low back canvas seats. The Salute concept will be built on the same assembly line in Toledo, OH that has produced the Wrangler for decades. In addition to putting out an image of the concept, Jeep also touched on the rich history of the original Willys MB, which you can read below. Related Video: In July 1940, the U.S. military informed automakers that it was looking for a "light reconnaissance vehicle" to replace the Army's motorcycle and modified Ford Model-T vehicles. The Army invited 135 manufacturers to bid on production and developed a lengthy specification list for the vehicle, including a 600-lb. load capacity, wheelbase less than 75 inches, height less than 36 inches, smooth-running engine from 3 to 50 miles per hour, rectangular-shaped body, four-wheel drive with a two-speed transfer case, fold-down windshield, three bucket seats, blackout and driving lights and a gross vehicle weight below 1,300 lbs.

This American Life spends a week selling Jeeps in Long Island

Thu, 19 Dec 2013

So you think you know car dealers? Well, maybe you do, but This American Life spent a month at Town and Country Jeep Chrysler Doge Ram in Long Island to give us a behind-the-scenes look (or listen, since it's a radio program) at what it's like to be a car dealer.
Yes, there's a lot of swearing in thick New York accents, frustration, confusion, and generally it's a madhouse at the dealership. But that's understandable when the sales staff has to sell 129 vehicles in October in order to get an $85,000 manufacturer bonus - with several other Jeep dealerships within a 10-mile radius.
The episode, 129 Cars, is worth a listen, but make sure you have 71 minutes to spare if you want to get through it in one sitting. Head here for the unedited version or here for the bleeped version (which is 58 minutes long).

FCA believes thieves aren't getting into Jeeps with laptops

Mon, Jul 11 2016

Last week, we reported on an incident where thieves stole a 2010 Jeep Wrangler from an owner's driveway in Houston, TX with nothing but a laptop. While the security footage made it seem like the perpetrator hacked into the vehicle, we had a conversation with FCA's senior manager of security architecture Titus Melnyk who set the record straight. According to Melnyk, the thief in the video isn't using the laptop to get into the vehicle, but rather as a means of coding a blank key fob and then using that fob to get into the Jeep. According to Melnyk, the suspects have gained access to a key programming tool, which allows them to pair blank key fobs to FCA vehicles. With the key fob now coded, the suspects can get into the vehicle and drive away. The thieves, believes Melnyk, have acquired the programming tool through a dishonest dealership or locksmith. Since the suspects are using a process designed to be used (honestly) by dealers, FCA doesn't consider this to be hacking and believes that there are no security flaws in the vehicles. How are the thieves getting key fobs? While Melnyk believes it is possible to recode an existing key fob, he points out that it's much easier to purchase a blank key fob on Ebay for less than $25. FCA is working closely with the Houston Police Department to apprehend the suspects. Related Video: Jeep Technology SUV Videos viral video hacking thieves
