2000 Jeep Wrangler complete frame off build. Jeep was completely stripped and tub was removed
from frame, frame was stripped of all lines and wiring blasted and primed and painted jet black. Tub and all parts
were painted apart in factory oem Intense Blue Pearl. New fuel and brake lines were run. Wiring redone. Suspension
is Rubicon Express Long Arm about 3.5" of lift with 1" body lift to clear the Trans and T-case. Front and Rear End
ordered brand new from Currie Enterprises, they are both 9" housings with 5.13 gears. Went with the 9" due to being
about 60lbs lighter than a Dana 60 and just as heavy duty. Front end has Arb Airlocker and disc brakes. Rear has a
Detroit Locker and Curries Disc Brake setup. Motor is an all aluminum Ls1stock heads Texas Speed Cam and Valve
springs and push rods. Sounds mean. FAST Intake with 90mm throttle body, K&N custom intake air filter. The motor
is running a custom harness and runs all the stock gauges on the dash flawlessly in exception to the factory tach.
AutoMeter C2 gauges on the dash display wideband Air/Fuel Ratio, Trans temp, water temp, volts, and oil pressure.
Alumni radiator with electric fan matching aluminum overflow can. Optima Red Top Battery. Transmission was built by
Finishline Transmissions, it is a 4L60E with billet input and output shafts, built way overkill for the LS1. The
converter is a 2600 stall triple disk Precision Industries Converter. Derale Transmission cooler mounted under
Jeep keeps the Trans cool at any temp. Transfer case is an Atlas II twin stick, handles mount through the factory
holes into the interior. Both driveshafts where custom built by Tom Woods Driveshafts to meet the specs of the
motor and gearing setup. Interior is basically stock as it came from the factory and in almost as good condition.
The tub interior has be Line-X black. Hurst Automatic shifter with custom "LS1" CNC Shifter cover into factory
shifter location. 35" Nitto Mud Grapplers on 17" Dick Cepek Chromed Aluminum wheels. Also have a set of OMF
Beadlocks wheels for the jeep. So much to list I'm sure I'm forgetting things.

Jeep passes all Illinois state emissions tests, paperwork to prove. I have all receipts for the build that will go
to the new owner. Jeep also street drives very nicely, wouldn't hesitate to jump on the expressway and run it. Rpms
stay pretty low with overdrive and the 5.13 gears

Chrysler banks $507 million in Q2, trims 2013 earnings forecast

Tue, 30 Jul 2013

Chrysler has some good news and some bad news. First, profits were up 16 percent over the second quarter of 2012, bringing the Auburn Hills, Michigan-based manufacturer $507 million on the back of strong demand for trucks and SUVs (a recurring theme this quarter, particularly in the US). Q2 revenue was up as well, from $16.8 billion in 2012 to $18 billion in 2013. The bad news is that the Pentastar's overall earnings forecast for net income in 2013 has been trimmed from $2.2 billion to between $1.7 and $2.2 billion, according to Automotive News.
In addition to the adjusted net income forecast, Chrysler tweaked its operating profit from $3.8 billion to between $3.3 and $3.8 billion. This has gone largely unexplained by Chrysler, perhaps hoping the news of a three-percent increase in its transaction prices for Q2 will allow it to sweep this adjustment under the rug.
The star of the show for Chrysler has been its US sales, which saw a 10-percent jump, both bettering the industry average of eight percent and improving over the same stretch of 2012. As with the increase in transaction prices, Chrysler has the new Ram pickup and Jeep Grand Cherokee to thank. Perhaps most worrying from this report, though, is that every brand in the automaker's stable saw an increase in sales... except for the Chrysler brand itself.

Total auto recalls already on record pace in 2014

Tue, 08 Apr 2014

If you've noticed that there have been more recalls than usual this year, you may be on to something. According to a report from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the US market is on pace to break a record for recalls. In 2013, 22 million cars were recalled. We're only a third of the way through 2014, though, and we've already halved that figure, with 11 million units recalled. That's wild.
Considering the past few months, it shouldn't be a surprise that General Motors is leading the charge, with six million of the 11 million units recalled coming from one of the General's four brands. Between truck recalls, CUV recalls and the ignition switch recall, 2014 hasn't been a great year for GM.
Other recall leaders include Nissan (one million Sentra and Altima sedans), Honda (900,000 Odyssey minivans), Toyota (over one million units in a few recalls), Volkswagen (150,000 Passat sedans), Chrysler (644,000 Dodge Durango and Jeep Grand Cherokee SUVs) and most recently, Ford (434,000 units, the bulk of which were early Ford Escape CUVs). So while it's been a bad year for GM so far, its competitors aren't doing too well, either.

Ram and Jeep diesel emissions allegations spur class action lawsuits

Tue, Jan 17 2017

This shouldn't come as a surprise. Last week, the EPA issued a notice of violation to FCA after it determined that Jeep and Ram installed eight undisclosed auxiliary emissions control devices on diesel vehicles. Since then US law firm Heninger Garrison Davis, LLC and Canadian firm Sotos LLP have launched class action suits on behalf of owners. These latest lawsuits are unrelated to a previous class action suit brought against FCA and Cummins over NOx emissions in 2007 to 2012 Ram models. The violation notice – and the subsequent lawsuits – covers 2014 to 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee and Ram 1500 models equipped with the 3.0-liter turbodiesel V6, a total of about 104,000 vehicles in the US. The EPA says that while the emissions control devices aren't necessarily illegal, installing them without disclosing them to the EPA is, as they produce more emissions in real world use than in testing. Skirting certification in this way might be a violation of the Clean Air Act. FCA could see fines of up to $45,000 per vehicle, depending on the outcome of the EPA investigation. FCA denies that these are cheat devices, and has proposed software updates to bring the vehicles into compliance. As for the lawsuits, Heninger Garrison Davis says that "Fiat Chrysler marketed those vehicles as environmentally friendly with enhanced fuel efficiency, better performance, and lower emissions. Although the diesel vehicles were successfully marketed as 'clean,' their environmentally-friendly representations were deceptive to consumers." The suit seeks an undisclosed amount of compensation for owners of these vehicles. In Canada, Sotos LLP is seeking $250 million in damages on behalf of owners. This suit, filed in the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, also claims deception on the part of FCA, "resulting in losses and damage" to owners. These are similar claims to group actions against Volkswagen with regard to its diesel emissions cheating scandal. While VW is fixing or buying back many of the affected vehicles, the company is defending itself against some suits on behalf of owners, saying it expects " no decline in the residual values of the affected vehicles as a result of this issue." Don't be surprised if FCA mounts a similar defense.
