2000 - Jeep Wrangler on 2040-cars
Marshall, Washington, United States
2000 Jeep TJ Wrangler – Silver with Black Soft Top Full Doors / Granite interior / Vinyl Seats 80K on Jeep / 15K on Conversion Total Invested: $53,200 Asking: $28,000 obo Purchased in 2004 with 10K miles I am the second owner of this jeep. This has been a garage kept project vehicle for the past 10 years and has been built by myself and 2 professional shops (Those Guys rods and customs and Hazzard Fabworx). The build is inspired by the great TJ’s built by American Expeditionary Vehicles (AEV). Featuring ultimate performance and everyday drivability. This TJ has a Chevy V8 Vortec power plant this give this TJ around 300 HP with better fuel economy than the standard Jeep inline 6. That and the bullet proof reliability of the Chevy Gen III platform. All modifications have been purposefully designed to look original as if they came from factory. Built to keep the center of gravity low yet give maximum clearance and articulation running 35” wheels with a 2 ½” lift. This TJ has been featured in publications such as Jeep Freak magazine in their “freak show” feature. The parts list alone speaks to the balance of this jeep. It can be driven every day as a daily driver yet can tackle any trail thrown at it. I am moving on as my family size is increasing. Parts and Modification Details: V8 Conversion Custom install utilizing both Jeep and Chevy computers. Factory dash wired up to give complete factory look to install. Emission is installed so that it can pass emissions testing. Only run synthetic oil. 2018 Jeep Wrangler to get full-time four-wheel-drive option
Mon, Aug 7 2017It appears the next-generation Wrangler will take another small step to modernization and civility. JL Wrangler Forums reports that the new Wrangler is showing up on dealer computers along with a variety of options. One of them is the inclusion of a full-time four-wheel-drive system called Selec-Trac. This means that it will be possible to simply leave the Wrangler in four-wheel drive all the time, without worrying about damaging it when pavement is dry, much like the all-wheel-drive systems on most modern crossovers. This might concern Wrangler purists, but there are a couple of reasons not to fret. For one, although Jeep doesn't have a Selec-Trac system on the market to compare to right now, the old Selec-Trac system offered on the Jeep Liberty had a low-range for off-roading, so this one probably will, too. For another, only one kind of Wrangler will offer this feature, according to JL Wrangler Forums. The Selec-Trac system will only be available on the four-door Wrangler Unlimited Sahara, the version that's arguably the most luxurious, and the body-style with the longest wheelbase. All the others will only have the classic selectable four-wheel drive. There is another interesting feature noted in the JL Wrangler Forums collection of information. Apparently the four-cylinder engine will have a combination starter and generator driven by a belt. This is interesting, because the only other car we've seen with such a component is the new Audi A8. In that application, the belt-driven starter and generator is used for smoother, faster starting and stopping to save fuel. We would guess the Jeep's system works in a similar way, though likely without the support of a 48-volt electrical system. We will likely know more when the new Wrangler makes its debut, which is expected at the L.A. auto show this year. 2021-22 Dodge Challenger Hellcat drops manual option
Wed, Mar 2 2022The six-speed manual has been dropped from the 2022 Dodge Challenger Hellcat at least temporarily while it awaits a powertrain calibration update that will allow it to be sold again, Road & Track reports. The combination has been unavailable to order since November 2021, Stellantis said. Dodge didn't give R&T much of an explanation regarding the combo's absence, saying only that a revised calibration that would allow the configuration to be sold is coming. When is anybody's guess. In the meantime, we're starting to wonder just how committed Stellantis is to offering its V8s to buyers who aren't opting for half-ton pickups or larger. The inline-six that is slated to replace the 5.7-liter Hemi variant in at least some applications is expected to debut soon. While the 5.7-liter Hemi has surely more than paid for itself at this point, it's likely that Stellantis is limiting availability only to its most profitable models, which help offset the CAFE costs associated with lower fleet mileage. And while Stellantis made quite a bit of noise in recent years about its customers wanting V8s, options for such have become thinner on the ground. The new Grand Cherokee is ostensibly offered with the V8 on its three top trims Trailhawk, Overland and Summit but only the last of those can be found anywhere in U.S. inventory with a Hemi under the hood. Trailhawk and Overland V8s simply do not exist. You don't have to take our word for it; you can look for yourself. Related video: This content is hosted by a third party. Jeep beefs up the Wrangler Rubicon with 2017 Recon Edition hardware
Mon, Feb 6 2017The Wrangler Rubicon Hard Rock is dead. Don't worry; the 2017 Rubicon Recon is heading to showrooms soon to take its place, and judging by what it's packing you'll hardly miss the Hard Rock. Essentially, this is a Rubicon with some beefed-up bits underneath and a few special cosmetic tweaks, a bit like the outgoing Hard Rock. Up front, there's a stronger Dana 44 with strengthened tubes and heavy-duty end forgings. Likewise, the front and rear differentials get stronger cast covers than the Hard Rock's stamped ones. The ratios are the same, with 4.10:1 front and rear ratios, Tru-Lok locking diffs, and a Rock-Trac transfer case. There's also a half-inch lift. Cosmetically, there are new 17-inch wheels exclusive to the Recon equipped with 32-inch BF Goodrich KM tires, and the rock rails have been reshaped to allow owners to fit 35-inch tires without interference. The Recon also adds red seatbelts and stitching, something you haven't been able to get in a Wrangler before, a Jeep rep told us. If that's what you were waiting for to get into a Wrangler Rubicon, well, there you go. There's also the special-edition farkles you'd expect: a dashboard plaque the fender badge, and a unique gauge cluster treatment. The two-door Recon will start at $40,140 and the four door at $43,940 that's compared to the base Rubicon, which starts at $34,190 in two-door form. So, the Recon represents a nearly $6,000 premium over the base Rubicon and a $1,150 premium over the outgoing Hard Rock. It'll be available in dealers at the end of this month. Related Video:
