Jeep Grand Wagoneer Great Off Road Project Or Parts Vehicle on 2040-cars
Bay Minette, Alabama, United States
This jeep is rough. See the pictures. I have owned the jeep for about 10 years and it has been a great off roading jeep and even a daily driver at times when needed. It comes with the four extra rims and all terrain tires seen in the photos. The AMC 360 starts right up with no knocking and only smokes for a few minutes after sitting up for a longer period of time. It has a TF 727 3 speed transmission that was rebuilt about 7 years ago. It has a functional 229 transfer case and it has no problem getting out of 4 low. Recently the vacuum activated 4 wheel drive developed a leak near the switch under the dash and it should be an easy fix. Before this leak the 4 wheel drive worked great and shifted on the fly. It currently has mud tires, as seen in the pics) but they are older and need to be replaced. It does have all four center caps and two of the rims have center caps, and for the wagonner fans it has a functional clock. AC worked the last time I charged the system. I had planned to build a tube frame and turn it into a fun off roading jeep. I no longer have space for it in my yard. To many other projects. Please feel free to ask questions. I say again this is a parts/project vehicle. There are lots of little things that need fixing and I do not wish to misrepresent what you are getting. Drive train is solid, but it does leak fluid from the front main and the power steering reservoir leaks fluid. You will have no problems with cutting and welding on this old girl to build up to what ever you would like. Frame is solid with no rust. It does have 2 inch add a leafs but one spring pack got slightly damaged on my last rock crawling venture. The paint is faded, but the jeep is pained in durabak coating. Please email with any questions. Actually mileage is unknown. The dash gauge cluster has been changed out.

GMC boss wants a Jeep Wrangler rival
Wed, 12 Nov 2014Challengers come and challengers go, but the Jeep Wrangler continues to push forward even after vehicles like the Toyota FJ Cruiser and the entire Hummer brand have been shut down. Now GMC reportedly wants to take a stab at the quintessential Jeep, as well.
The news comes directly from Buick-GMC vice president Duncan Aldred, speaking with our compatriots over at Edmunds. Although Aldred said there are no plans currently on the table to expand GMC's lineup beyond the current range, "there is plenty of room everywhere in the hierarchy."
That could include a rival to the Wrangler, as well as a flagship luxury SUV positioned above the current Yukon Denali (pictured above). Just when (or for that matter, if) such models might come into fruition remains a big question mark, but it's certainly interesting to see what GM's dedicated truck brand has on the drawing board.

Marchionne uses racial epithet to describe what must power future Alfa Romeo models
Wed, 16 Jan 2013Sergio Marchionne and his Fiat empire have a lot riding on the US return of the Alfa Romeo brand. The endeavor has been in progress for what feels like a lifetime - certainly for as long as Fiat has had the Chrysler brand under its Italian wing.
It's not surprising that Fiat CEO Marchionne needs a perfect first Alfa to mark a return to America. And here's where things get dicey. Nobody would argue with Marchionne's insistence that Alfa Romeo's be powered by Italian engines - as Marchionne himself is quoted to have said at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show, "There are some things that are well done in Italy."
If not what he said, then, it's how he said it that has eyebrows raised. "I cannot come up with a schlock product, I just won't. I won't put an American engine into that car. With all due respect to my American friends, it needs to be a wop engine." Wait, what's that?
