1985 Jeep CJ7 Renegade in amazing shape. I was given this Jeep for my 40th B-Day and it looked nothing like the Jeep it is today. I really enjoyed working on it and turning it into the head-turner it is. One of the main issues I have with this Jeep is when people are always stopping me to ask questions and give me their information for when I am ready to sell!

My son is turning 16 soon and he wants to build his own Jeep with the old man. Unfortunately there is not enough room for two Jeeps so I am going to build one with him but not a CJ. Something with the wider wheel base so I'm not worried all the time about him tipping it. So its time to send this beauty to her next home. She runs great, pump the peddle twice and start her up - let her idle for 30 seconds and you are good to go! She never lets me down. Runs straight and true and wonderful at high speeds.

Engine: This engine has roughly 80,000 miles on it. It was installed by the previous owner and is from a 1987 Wrangler.

History - I bought this Jeep from South Carolina and had it shipped up here. It was newly painted but needed work. The Jeep is Rhino lined and there is no rust on the body - I honestly hardly drove the Jeep. She is garage kept and was only driven on nice days with no top or doors. I put around 3000 miles on it in 5 years. I never had the hard top or doors on the Jeep when I took her out. She only saw rain one time in my possession and it was a 5 minute sun shower. There are so many things new on this Jeep it would probably be easier to list what I did not replace but here we go:

Engine: Aluminum Valve Cover - Wires - Distributor - Weber Carburetor - Fuel Pump, Filter and Pressure Regulator with gauge - Hoses and wires galore - Power Brake Booster (same one that was used in Corvettes) - All new brakes - Horn

Interior: New Carpet - Besttop Seats (Front and Rear Folding Seat (which can be easily removed when needed)) - Seat Mounts - Tuffy Lockable 12.5 inch Center Console with Stereo Compartment - All dashboard knobs, motors, dash lights/indicators and cables - New Speedometer (which is more accurate) - Chrome handle - Chrome glove box - Chrome dash panel - New Black Dash Pad - Grant steering wheel and turn signal lever- Seat belts (Front and Rear) - Roll bar pad - Front speakers and Rear Speakers (Attached to roll bar - see pictures) - Sony CD Player with Blue Tooth and Remote Control - Floor Mats - Cigarette Lighter - Shifter knobs - Rear view mirror - Stainless door guards - Door interior locks - Hard Top rear window pistons

Exterior: New Fuel tank and fuel sending unit - New Stainless mirrors - Front stainless bumper, Rear stainless bumper with hitch receiver (I never towed anything), Stainless Side Step bars - Fuel line - Plastic Jeep front frame cover (piece in front of the grill between the Jeep and bumper) - CJ and JEEP logo's - Antenna - Windshield wipers - Chrome/Stainless hinges and hood air intake vent as well as hood latches and various footman's - Sylvania Headlights - Chrome Headlight bezels and parking lights bezels/bulbs - New side lights - Chrome Wheel caps

Comes with:
New Bikini Top
Two used Jeep half doors (Yellow - I wanted to paint them white and use them instead of full doors) You can then buy a soft top to match which is a nice look for a CJ7.
Jeep Cloth Cover with Bag
Outside door locks (I never got around to replacing them)
New oil filter
Jeep Clock
Jeep Tachometer (I wanted to install these but never got around to it. Fun Saturday project to make the Jeep look more like a Laredo.

What she still needs:
Since I never used the hard doors I never replaced the rubber gaskets on the doors or windows. I would do that if you plan to use them. You also have to replace the door locks which I included with the Jeep. The rear hard top lock needs to be replaced as this one does not have a key. $15 dollar item I just didn't get to it because I never lock the Jeep. Would take 10 minutes to swap out.

Please feel free to email me or call me with any questions (973) 333-1283  - If you are local I encourage you to come by and take her for a drive. You won't be sorry!

Four Wheeler crowns Ultimate Factory 4x4... who wins?

Thu, 15 Nov 2012

Nearly every automaker doing business in the SUV or pickup truck segments offers a package designed to improve the off-road capabilities of its wares. But, of course, not all such factory kits are created equal. How, then, to separate the wheat from the chaff? Gather each of them up and put them through their paces, naturally.
The folks from Four Wheeler and PickupTrucks.com joined forces to run just such a comparison test, with the winner named the Ultimate Factory 4x4. A total of seven vehicles showed up to the fight: the 2012 Ford F-150 SVT Raptor, 2013 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon, 2012 Nissan Frontier PRO-4X and Xterra PRO-4X, 2012 Ram Power Wagon, and 2012 Toyota 4Runner Trail and Tacoma TRD T|X Baja Series.
With the contestants in place, the whole crew put each vehicle through a battery of tests that included skidpad and acceleration measurements, a hillclimb, a rocky stairstep course and a rock garden. Considering the nature of the beasts, on-road ride and comfort were not part of the routine.
