Up for sale is my 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4WD that I have owned for 6 years. I recently purchased a new vehicle and was planning on trading this Jeep, but the Dealer gave me such a low trade in value that I decided that is what I would set the reserve price at and give somebody else, rather than the Dealer, a great deal on a good vehicle well below NADA value…….Clean retail is $10,700………Clean trade-in is $7875……Average trade-in is $7050……..and Rough trade-in is $6025……..That will give everyone a base line and those values are current as of 04/28/13….check for yourself. In November I replaced both front drive axles, both front bearing assemblies, right lower ball joint, new rotors and front brakes, front end alignment, changed front and rear axle fluids, changed transfer case fluid, transmission fluid and filter and changed the engine oil and filter. I am no mechanic and had a recommended garage do all this mechanical work and I wasn't happy with the work and time it took to complete everything mentioned………it took them 4 weeks and the front end sounds to me like it needs bushings on left side (Rattles). With that said it also has an oil leak somewhere on the bottom of engine, not sure if it is a gasket or what…….remember I am no mechanic and I am not going to have it serviced again……that is why I am listing it here…..it needs some TLC and a couple things fixed to make it be worth the clean trade-in value. The vehicle has hail damage on the hood and roof and the rear axle has a whine to it for over 2 years now ( Mechanic claims its a bearing ), but I have no idea, it has not caused any issues, it just whines so I turn up the radio! It has typical dings and scratches from 6 years of daily use. The Airbag light is on and the ABS light comes on frequently (This is why I had the front end serviced in November and was told it was the sensor's on the Wheel Bearing Assembly). The Check Engine light is NOT on and hasn't been on (Thank GOD). This has been a great vehicle for the last 6 years. Everything in this vehicle works as it should……the A/C works and blows cold………all the windows work………the sunroof works………the power locks and seats work as they should……..the leather interior is in nice condition with no rips or tears……..the tires are about 50%……the wheels are nice and not all scraped up……I feel I have listed this vehicle to the best of my knowledge and honesty as my feedback rating will insure. This would be a great vehicle for someone with mechanical abilities to fix and get a great deal or to fix and resell. I have been hard on my Jeep in this listing, but I am being honest with what it may need….the reality is, it has been a great vehicle, very dependable and certainly has a lot of life left in her. I just don't have the time, nor do I want to spend any more money on it since I have already purchased a new vehicle. I have included several pictures to show the hail damage and other imperfections on the body and the dent on passenger fender If you have any questions, please feel free to call me during the daytime at 570-751-6547. The vehicle is located in Northeastern Pennsylvania and the Buyer is responsible for pick up and shipping of vehicle. I will assist as best to my ability……I drive truck for a living and I am primarily only available on weekends. Thank you and GOOD LUCK! The vehicle also has 2 keys!

Jeep hackers return to take over your steering wheel
Wed, Aug 3 2016Last year, security researchers Charlie Miller and Chris Valasek made headlines by remotely hacking a Jeep, killing the transmission and applying the brakes while Wired reporter Andy Greenberg was behind the wheel and driving in traffic. The hack led to a 1.4 million-vehicle recall for Fiat Chrysler and new jobs at Uber's Advanced Technology Center for Miller and Valasek. Despite the cushy new gigs, the two of them apparently aren't done hacking Jeep Cherokees for sport. In their latest exploit, the pair can gain even more control over a vehicle, but it would also be extremely difficult to pull off in a real-world setting. Here's the harrowing part first: Miller and Valasek can do more than just apply the brakes at low speed or cut the transmission this time around. Now they can turn on the parking brake, mess with the cruise control and hijack the auto-parking system to jerk the steering wheel a dangerous 180 degrees while the car is in motion. It looks about as frightening as it sounds: This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings. Although it's not hard to see how that would make for a very terrifying drive, there's a big grain of salt that comes along with it: Miller and Valasek actually used the same model 2014 Jeep Cherokee as the original demonstration, but without the software patch applied. Or, as Wired put it, "imagine an alternate reality," where a fix had never been made. Unlike before, the latest hack requires a physical connection plugging their laptop into the Jeep's OBD-II diagnostic port under the dash. The team also had to update the Jeep with their own firmware to disable some of the car's built-in safety checks before they could get much control. In other words: In order to get hacked, Jeep owners would first need to roll back their car's firmware to an older version, invite someone to remove security features and then also let them ride shotgun with a computer. Or, as Engadget's resident security expert Violet Blue wrote on Twitter, it's sort of a non-threat. This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. That said, The Verge points out that it may still be possible to exploit OBD-connected wireless dongles like the Metromile Tag, Automatic Link or other similar devices currently marketed by insurance companies.
Chrysler Recalls 350K Vehicles To Fix Ignition Switches
Thu, Sep 25 2014Chrysler is recalling nearly 350,000 cars and SUVs to fix ignition switches that could unexpectedly shut off the engines. The recall covers 2008 Jeep Commander and Grand Cherokee SUVs, Chrysler 300 and Dodge Charger sedans, and Dodge Magnum wagons. All were built before May 12, 2008. Chrysler says the ignitions may not fully return to the "on" position after being started. The switches could move to "accessory" or "off." That could shut off the engine and knock out power-assisted steering and other features. Chrysler knows of one crash and no injuries from the problem. It's telling people to use the key alone in the ignition and confirm that switches have returned to "on" after starting their cars. Chrysler is investigating the cause. Customers will be notified when repairs are ready. Related Gallery The Trucks And SUVs Consumers Are Liking Most View 11 Photos
Happy 50th birthday, Jeep Wagoneer
Thu, 02 May 2013
The Wagoneer got the SUV on the radar of buyers looking for something capable, comfortable and rugged.
The Jeep Wagoneer was introduced 50 years ago, and it's that vehicle we have to thank for the herds of excellent crossovers and SUVs that make up our current automotive landscape. On a personal level, I have always loved the full-size Jeeps and their crisp Brooks Stevens styling, which aged well over their long tenure on the market. The SJs, as they're known among enthusiasts, were the Wagoneer and its two-door counterpart, the original Cherokee. The Wagoneers had become true luxury vehicles by the end of their run, which stretched form late 1962 as a '63 model all the way to 1991, when they were offered exclusively under the Grand Wagoneer nameplate.
