Up for auction is a 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited. I bought it only a few months ago but my sister has given me her car (a Subaru Outback wagon) so I no longer need this one. It starts right up, no smoke and it runs good. It is loaded with every option available including a sunroof, 10 disc CD player radio and many more options. This Jeep has the legendary 4.0L 6 cylinder engine which gets better mpg. than the V8 and ha been known to last forever. The only problem with this Jeep is the blower motor for the defrost & heat & AC is very weak and there is a small amount of rust on the rocker panels which could be fixed in a body shop with new paint job, there is no rust anywhere else on the Jeep, I even took pictures of the floorboards to show that. I bought a new blower motor but have not had the time to install it yet. I will try to install it before the end of this auction if possible. Since I've owned this Jeep I put in 3 new sensor's- a new crank shaft position sensor, a new camshaft position sensor and a new idle air sensor. Also the previous owner stated he had ALOT of work done to it. He said the transmission was rebuilt, a new water pump, radiater, hoses, timing chain etc. I don't have the receipts but I bought it to keep and did not think I would be selling it.

  Anyone who is seriously interested I recommend that you come see it and take it for a drive- it is a very, very comfortable suv to drive.  Feel free to ask me any questions you might have. Hyundai reportedly eyeing a takeover of FCA

The CEO of Hyundai Motor Group plans to launch a takeover bid for Fiat Chrysler ahead of the planned retirement of FCA Chief Executive Sergio Marchionne next spring, Asia Times reports, citing unnamed sources close the situation. CEO Chung Mong-koo will wait for an expected decline in the Italian-American automaker's shares to make his move. Hyundai isn't commenting on the rumors, unsurprisingly, but would presumably stand to benefit by gaining Chrysler's dealer network and the lucrative Jeep brand and probably Ram, too. An FCA spokeswoman in Auburn Hills told Autoblog the company had no comment. But like any story about a possible takeover, this one gets complicated with inside players — and President Trump's posturing on international trade issues. FCA has been the subject of takeover interest before, including by Hyundai, but Marchionne has denied a merger was likely, instead saying his company was in talks with the Korean automaker about a technical partnership. In 2015, Marchionne lobbied General Motors hard, but unsuccessfully, for a tie-up; he was also spurned by Volkswagen. Marchionne had repeatedly stressed the need for car companies to merge to decrease overcapacity and better afford the massive investments needed for things like autonomous and electric vehicles. In the case of Hyundai's reported interest, there is a cast of characters. One is Paul Singer, principal of the hedge fund Elliott Management, an activist shareholder with a $1 billion stake in Hyundai and a major owner of equities in Fiat's home turf of Italy. Then there is FCA Chairman John Elkann, who reportedly disagrees with Marchionne on a successor as CEO of Fiat Chrysler but has little interest in running the company himself and would prefer a merger. Compounding things is what the Trump administration would think of a further blending of Fiat Chrysler's international DNA, though a deal with a Korean automaker is thought to be more palatable to the president and members of Congress than by a Chinese conglomerate like Great Wall Motor, which has confirmed its interest in taking over all or parts of FCA. 2014 Jeep Cherokee configurator up and running

Production delays aside, Jeep is steaming towards its September on-sale date for the 2014 Cherokee. The reborn midsizer's configurator has just gone live, meaning you can fiddle with different options, colors and trim levels to your heart's content.
The cheapest model available is the 4X2 Sport, which starts at a reasonable $22,995. On the high end, the Cherokee's builder allowed us to indulge our passion for ludicrously priced vehicles by outfitting the top-end Trailhawk, which already starts at $29,495, with $8,610 in options. The resulting car, which you can see above, would retail for $39,100 after the $995 destination is factored in.
